It's been a bit tricky getting all this sorted, especially as I've had to work within tight budgets and restrictions under my maintenance company here. I've not been able to renovate in the way I would have done had I been able to do so with long-term planning and funds in a few years time. We do what we can with what we have! Another big problem I've had is due to issues where I live that were unknown to me until two weeks before I moved in, so water problems are being dealt with differently here. (We've had water leaks across the estate). So despite having all the correct insurances, I've been financially out of pocket where I'd assumed I'd have been covered! Moving onwards.... I'll be able to settle better into my home once this is all over... thank you so much for all the support the last year.

Honestly I love these types of videos. Especially now I'm getting older... life is VERY hard and you document everything and show that slowly it gets better, then another hurdle can come but you always work with it. An inspiration!

It's always fun to be able to rearrange things, mix it up a bit and make your home unique to you... but having to wait on a remodel? Bummer! But just think of how nice it will be when it's finished and everything is back where you want it!💜

That's what I've come to realise. I didn't know much about insurance when this all happened (had some, but wasn't aware of the potentials) and even though things have been hit and miss, overall, I've been in a position to change the floor and paint the walls! Been so restricted on budgets... things have had to match up with the cost of the worth of what was damaged which makes sense.... and I'm paying excess in places..... but happy to have an outcome. I was hoping to renovate properly before I moved out and do some painting next year - all happened a bit early!

I was shocked - I thought I'd have to pay for decorators at some stage, but it was covered. I'm paying for some coving and my Dad and James fixed the holes in the walls (they didn't do that). Take what we can I suppose!

Sorry to hear about the hassle with your flat but at least being able to decorate is a positive of sorts. Maybe look out for a pink rug or throw so you can take them with you when you move in the future x
Your cats are lovely! Good luck with the repair work. Had to giggle when you talked about playing Tetris - my wife sometimes talks about Tetris packing when she’s trying to fit all the stuff for a holiday into the car. I wonder what we’d call that sort of logistical exercise if nobody had invented Tetris..?!

I'm still working at Penguin, but now part-time and more freelance as we head past the Summer. So currently working overtime at my other job and on the hunt for things! Been applying to all sorts and not much luck yet! Prayers welcome!
As for Tetris, oh it's been fun! Especially with lamps and valubles. I was told I wouldn't have access, but have been able to sneak in some nights to have a look! So I took out the essentials.... a bit tetchy about unloading it all again! x

I'm talking about the future! Like three years or so. The previous flooring was down 12 years... the flooring I chose would likely be down the remainder of my time here.... and I don't want to have to repaint all the walls - so chose a colour that would last

My boyfriend and I split at the start of March and were back together by May. I've mentioned it in another video and also vlogged a bit about it in a video I ended up not sharing. So to summarise, we are back together and things are lovely...

So the flooring's done, skirts and walls to go ... that's going to feel like it takes 5 years even if it's only a few weeks!
Are you going to get a new washer and dishwasher? I hate doing the dishes but don't own enough plates and cutlery etc to fill a dishwasher up before dirty plates start to grow their own culture (learnt that one the smelly, gross way!) ... I'm thinking of going for paper plates and plastic cutlery :P
