Mr Garcia plays like every note means something to him. Very rare talent to witness these days. Hope to hear him perform live someday.
Mr Happy Fingers Garcia was outstanding in the op. 21❤️ what a singer!
It's MR. MARTÍN GARCÍA GARCÍA !!! Beautifully phrased with perfect pedaling, immensely powerful and very virtuous. He absolutely melted every heart in the auditorium. His rendition must have been what it was like to hear Chopin himself play. With the hope that this dynamic and charismatic Spanish pianist will be awarded the Gold Medal. To you MR. MARTÍN GARCÍA GARCÍA, God bless you. 🏅 💐💐💐
I didn’t love everything about Martin Garcia Garcia’s solo pieces, but his concerto was heart-stopping. Wow!
Martin Garcia Garcia 👏👏👏
I am not quite sure if he wins a prize. But, it doesn't matter. Watching his performance makes me smile and be happy. I've never seen the pianist playing with such joy and happiness(and humming that loud🤣) in competition. You will be a star
So far he receives the largest applause. Let's see how the jury received him. Maybe this year we are into a surprise...
@@hanskulainen Sorita and Eva brought me tears. Garcia brought me smile
I don’t think Martin represents Chopin. He will offend at least 3/4 of the Chopin fans on UA-cam.
Garcia was so good, but I don't want him win because Chopin didn't wrote tenor part. Can you imagine to buy somebody's recording then listening to it with earphones and you think,"What a hell is that weird sound? Is there somebody outside of my room now?" That's exactly happend to me last night, because I didn't follow him until final round. It's unprofessional to sing that loud.
@@noramiyako5618 I agree that the singing is not recommended... He must be aware of it.
Kudos to the orchestra and its very talented, charismatic conductor. It’s not easy ( euphemism 😀 ) to play 4 concertos back to back. Bravo. Bravissimo. And thank you . 🙏🏽
The world doesn't need a champion.We need a master.
Martín García García with Fazioli is a perfect duo.
super koncert .... podziwiam tych młodych pianistów, taka moc, energia, pasja do muzyki Chopina ..
Chopin is a real Medicine.
so is Tylenol.
Martin Garcia Garcia 👏👏 just compelling and couldn’t stop watching till the end I felt the orchestra also truly enjoyed playing with him. His big smile also add huge attraction to him as an artist . He’s something special more than a pianist …!! Really want to see his performance in real 🤩
He is great. I saw him twice during second and third round in real. He has a wonderful positive energy and you can feel these good vibrations as an audience.
@@patrycjakubiak3870 lucky you 👏that you were there in the hall !!! What a special experience you had 🥰 I loved his prelude the best for his 3rd round and repeat watching it on UA-cam , as you say , I have never felt the vibration that he has with full of joy and love for music is something that I can’t describe in a word 😊 anyway congratulations on his prize 🎉
Wow, listening to the orchestra at 18:09 for J J Jun and at 2:52:30 for Eva Gevorgyan we can see notice so much difference. It is probably a choice of the performer, but to play the same concerto multiple times and still deliver the nuances rehearsed with each contestant just show how special this orchestra is! Props to them, because otherwise there would be no concerto and the orchestra isn't as valued as the pianist, but they work together!
Amazing! I love the way the conductor has interacted with all the contestants, he is so encouraging.
nice to meet you myself :)
That's not what Rach would say...
@@sergeirachmaninoff8888 thank you/me for that
@@cicir423 he looks really nice indeed!
Martin Garcia Garcia pleasantly surprised me with this performance. He really made that Fazioli sing wonderfully with the orchestra. After this performance he may be candidate for top 3.
I agree
Martin Garcia 🎶❤️ unique
Mr. Garcia Garcia, there are people who love you from prelims. And there are people who have just falled in love today. Nobody stays untouched:) I' so happy to see how you're walking on and on to final, and had today a possibility to "win" a few hearts more 🌹🥰💃My No.1 today
🚨 Mr. MARTÍN GARCÍA GARCÍA has great technical mastery and sophistication, which is why his playing sounds uniquely different from the rest of the finalists. He played the beautiful concerto with such transcendent beauty and flawless articulation that it made the audience swoon. Mr. MARTÍN GARCÍA GARCÍA is worthy of the Gold Medal. 🏅
He is great. But not even close to maestro Korita!
you know the audience really liked the performance when they start clapping before the last chord has played! Hats off to Mr. Garcia.
Yes and the same thing happened in the first day when Mr. Sorita finished his last part. Pretty amazing.
@@mikimachii9793 The difference is that in Sorita's case (and Armellini's as well), they started clapping just after he's last note, not on last orchestra's chord (which happens in each case i saw/heard actually).
Also in Bruce Liu‘s concerto performance!
Hey its the first violinist from 6 years ago! It was a different lady yesterday but today it was him! It's like seeing an old friend 😁
Yes indeed! I remember him smiling so broadly after Seong Jin Cho's performance.
Wow! I have notice that, too!!
He seems very nice gentleman!
There's one which have 21 years in the orchestra, the bassoon man!
his name is Krzysztof Bakowski.
I didn’t see him yesterday (maybe different orchestra) and was like where did he go!!!?!? I’m so glad he’s here.
Ewa Gevorgyan - Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love your performance!!! ❤️
Although I made some mistakes, Garcia was overwhelmingly wonderful on this day. Looking at this person makes me happy. Unlike usual, I was a little nervous at first, but gradually I went to Garcia World.
“To play a wrong note is insignificant, to play without passion is inexcusable”, says Beethoven. And I think that García gives us a performance full of delicatessen and passion.
If true, then why practice Chopin’s compositions until note perfect?
Just play them with artistry and you won’t be marked down for wrong notes!
@@LC-ig2jm I think the idea does not suggest that someone can play a Chopin concerto well without studying it meticulously and practicing it for a long time. What it suggests is that a perfect but cool performance is not preferable to a sensitive performance, although this sensitive performance has a few errors in relation to the score.
Wow, Garcia Garcia with FAZIOLI on Concerto No. 2 is unbelievable! His sound is so sweet and as if I were watching an opera. I always loved movement 2. I was not following him very much, but I recognized that he is so talented.
JJ, I’m really proud of you! You are a gifted musician at such a young age, and you handled every single step of this competition with grace and humility. I loved the slow movement of your concerto. Such sensuous musicality. Can’t wait to see what lies ahead.
Interview of Eric Lu is very impressive. I can understand how he felt at the last Chopin competition. Wishing him a beautiful future!
ガルシアガルシアさんの音がすごく好き
Thank you JJ, Alexander, Martin and Eva for bringing a night filled with the two beautiful concertos.
Martin Garcia, thank you for all the music you shared today, what an amazing gift for posterity, beautiful beautiful beautiful, full of poetry, full of music and love. Thank you, wish you the best, thank you.
Love Eric Lu's interview!
Man Martin Garcia came out of nowhere. I found his performance from the other stages kind of lackluster and did not expect him to reach it to the finals, but here he is at the finals playing brilliantly even though there are couple of wrong notes and so much singing to a point that I thought the original piece had lyrics.
What a wonderful thing!
The performance of MARTÍNG ARCÍA GARCÍA is very good.
💕💕💕
MARTÍN GARCÍA GARCÍA!! Very very original! I liked it veeeery much! Kudos!!! Thanks for this outstanding performance!
БРАВО!!! Alexand Gadjiev, bravo! Thank you for your sincerity and mastery in delivering it, for being so true to yourself and to Chopin! The way you play his music is so AUTHENTIC, full of meaning, heartwarming and so ALIVE in every phrase, in every sound! I can't even express how I appreciate it! Thank you for the nobility and youthfulness you've translated in this concerto! It's a pure joy!!! The world needs more artists who's hearts are as poetic, generous and free as yours! God bless!!! Cheering for you from Saint-Petersburg, Russia
Martin Garcia Garcia has melted my icy heart. ❤
To me Alexander Gadjiev is the greatest musician so far... and I think,of the whole competition. He understands Chopin's music and touches the real meaning of it,without superficial bravado .
His Mazurkas were so heartfelt!
And the 2nd Concerto tonight showed again his deep commitment to the true Chopin.
He has been impressive so far. But too many mistakes in the 2nd concerto which could cost him a prize. Garcia Garcia was better IMO.
I totally agree except for the concerto. It did not draw me in like Garcia's did.
Yes, he is the best of all.
His 2nd Concerto was just impressive!
No other contestants could have done
what he performed
The performer I want to listen to again and more from today’s round was Garcia! It was undoubtedly one of the best concerto #2 I’ve ever heard. Not only were his sounds so vibrant and magnificent, but also well united with the orchestra. Bui did so amazing and it was so inspiring at his solo performances, I think he just needed a little more experience to reach to his full potential today. I am looking forward to seeing his next performance though! Thanks for choosing Kawaii. Eva and Gadjiv were truly incredible as expected but they didn’t get my mind blown away like Sorita san and Garicia did…
Yes, I agree. I don't even like the second concerto but Garcia played it so well that I was captured by his every note making me like this concerto a lot more.
Eva ! You gave us again an absolutely gorgeous performance of Piano Concerto in all three movements and in every phrase and detail ! Congratulations and Thank You from my heart ! You are phenomenally gifted very young person and have great musical career ahead of you ! May God Bless you and protect you ! All your performances from the preliminary audition to the final concert made me deeply moved and very happy !
You are our Angel of Music !
Mr. Martin, you were incredible today 💞🎉
Thank you for the wonderful performance♬
In particular,Garcia❣️
I was so moved that my eyes were filled with tears.
He is exciting.
Blabo👏

I agree.
Finally Gadijev ❤️Carcia played my favourite concerto No.2 🥺👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I keep thinking of the orquestra and the judges , the same concerto , again and again and again.........
Garcia is great!!!exciting,exciting,exciting.......
First, all competitors gave tonigth some really remarquable performances. Bravo.
M JJ Jun Li Bui gave a very good performance, with a nice musicality and a fluid playing. He had anyway some difficulties of speed control on the most demanding moments. Globally a fine and standard interpretation.
M Alexander Gadjev gave a sublime performance that marry intimate moments and a great virtuosity. His sound was deep, singing and balanced. His phasing was 1st class. He has some little issues with dynamics during the 2nd movements. Globally a really great moment of music.
M Martin Garcia Garcia, gave a very clear, powerfull and entousiastic performance. His sound is equality brigth from begin to end, which is good : he is brillant virtuoso, and as counter effect, he lack of deepness and nuances. A great shinny performance, full of happyness.
Mme Eva Gevorgian gave a very clear performance. She demonstrated a delicate sound but in fast section, she had some phrasing inconsistancies. At the opposite, In the slower sections, she played with a great musically. Globally a very good performance.
As a personnal note, my favorite today is M Gadjev that succeed to illustrate the two aspects of Chopin music : a mix of pure virtuosity and intimate moments, a set of delicate phrasing and stronger sections. Bravo
feels like watching real anime in this competition. It's amazing
Many members of the jury applauded after Martin's performance. Is that a sign? Remember the reaction of the jury at Tchaikovsky competition after Concerto No.2 played by winner A. Kantorow.😉Martin was the highlight of the day, in my opinion. What a great performance of Concerto No.2! Next up, Aimi's Concerto No.1.
Martin Garcia Garcia was clearly the winner on this day!
the bunch of comments confirms your estimation
I love Eva. She is very special indeed. If Chopin was listening, he would be overjoyed!
Me too:)
Ah non sûrement pas !!!!
Herzliches Lob und Dank an Herr García!
Mein Herz war voller Freude✨
After two days of final, and having in mind the previous rounds, I would say that my favourite pianists are K. Sorita and Martín García, by now.
Tomorrow atencion to Bruce Liu.
Korita looks old. But he’s just 27.
@Marie Bourne
Experience can get in the way of the competition?
Is his efforts wasted?
SORITA has been trying or studyinig to do so for many many years. For this time, Chopin competition.
Es un grande Martín

recourse 1: "You have to be an exceptional young pianist to beat the likes of Sorita, etc"
recourse 2: "It's not really fair that someone as experienced as Sorita goes up against some very young, new pianists"
how do you estimate this facts:
- She has received awards at more than 40 international competitions for young pianists
- Under the baton of such conductors as Valery Gergiev, Alexander Sladkovsky, Lawrence Foster, Vasily Petrenko and Gerhardt Zimmermann
- she has played in prestigious concert halls in Russia, Europe and the US.
I am sure you will find the source from which I quoted.
Consider that each competition formulates certain conditions of participation. These may well differ. As far as I can survey - and my foresight is rudimentary - each contest has an age range of about one decennium, especially if it is held at intervals of several years. Here I am NOT talking about junior competitions!
The sound nature of Kawai was an important reason to hit JJ and Gadjive today, IMHO. Hope juries would discount that somewhat. Martin is much better than I expected but for E minor piece I still see Sorita as the best so far.
BRAVO 👏 Martin Garcia Garcia
He really brought a new level this time and played the concerto perfectly.
Bravo, Martín García García!!!!!
Colorful performance.Every note has a meaning.Beautiful rendition of richness of Chopin music.Congratulation on overall performance during competition.Thank you Eva
I have not paid much attention to Garcia Garcia's performances in the first three rounds. The way he played seemed to be kinda strange, and not in a good way. But I must say I think he played the best concerto so far (and the F minor, which is less known and less praised than the E minor). Beautiful sound, and so many colors. He is confident and cheerful. I hope he gets a prize.
Yes there was no doubt that Garcia aced the Concerto, and no one came close today.
I like his persona at the competition. Wish him luck.
I like that Garcia plays with so much freedom and musicality...he is not afraid to play it with his style and at the same time his interpretation is nice
In Garcia's early rounds he frequently brought a new freshness to pieces we've all heard a million times. I don't agree that this was either strange or bad. Maybe his flamboyant delivery and "singing" is a distraction for some but not for me. This was classy playing culminating in a stunning concerto. The applause that preceded the last chord told a story in itself. Throughout Mr Garcia quickly became an audience favourite. He delivered emotion aplenty and that's what it's about
Eva Jan we are extremely proud to see such a beautiful soul shining like a amazing star 🌟. All your hard work and dedication is shining through ✨✨✨✨ thank you 🙏
Garcia Garcia!!!!!
GARCIA GARCIA!! YES!!
Gadjiev is not afraid of playing f when needed. Garcia^2, on the other hand, has a beautiful p sound, which is incredible considering the dimensions of his hands.
Martin Garcia Garcia! AMAZING 👏 Ideal style of piano performance...bright yet subtly deep...very enjoyable to listen to.
Chopin is magic
I commented on Eva below but I also enjoyed the soulful performances of JJJun, Alex and Martin. Each has his own sparkles and charms. What I loved about Martin was that he was enjoying the piece and trying to deliver his passion to the audience. Such inclusiveness seems to show his kind nature.
It's Eva, every time.. the most memorable among all of them, simply unmatched on stage, call it - presence..#goEva❤❤❤
There is amazing interview with Eric Liu, the finalist from 2015! Very refined, great pianist.
Garcia was unbelievable! 🥰🥰🥰
Wow García
Omg, Alexander Gadžiev, zmagali boste, you shall win! This was a fantastic performance, full of passion, great tone and devotion, bravo, better than anyone else.
Mr Gadjiev's Larghetto was beautiful and refreshing, great phrasing and full of suspense. 🙏
Beautifully said!
Sorita and Garcia were certainly impressive today. Still, the one weakness of the Chopin Competition is that the culminating event are supposed to be his two concerti. By any measure, however, they are not his best compositions. Inevitably, I find myself going back to the second and third round, to the scherzi, mazurkas, sonatas, polonaises, and ballads, all of which strike me as offering far more musical "substance" than the relatively placid concerti. Chopin obviously never explored the orchestra with the same depth and rigor as he did the piano. The large symphonic form just isn't where his greatness as a composer is found. -- My hope is that the winner will be decided by the cumulative score of the performers throughout this competition, and not just how well they did in the final round. I was quite disappointed that Sumino and Khozyainov were not advanced.
I agree with your point that the concerti does not have as much musical 'substance' as the other more refined pieces. However, it's fair to say that those who got to the final were evaluated on those ballades, etudes, scherzi, polonaises...etc. I'm sure it will come down to a overall culmination of all rounds, the final is there to observe the ability of the pianist in playing with an orchestra which is notoriously difficult and requires good chemistry between the two parties. It would be nice to have a behind the scene documentary on how they evaluate competitors because there are just so many talented pianists this year.
Agreed. The final round of the Chopin Competition has always seemed more like a formality than an actual competition--it's not these concerti aren't great works, but still, it's difficult to believe these final rounds have any true bearing on the official result. One possible solution--I believe the Chopin Competition should just pick 3 finalists, honestly. Then we can really hear three meaningful concerto performances that help us truly decide who is the best.
All great and meaningful piano competitions require a round with orchestra where the skills are in demand that you can't show as a soloist. Competitors have little time available for rehearsal with orchestra, so they must demonstrate their communication skills on stage. I could observe significant differences in the first two final rounds. Because it is a CHOPIN COMPETITION, the choices of piano concertos are very limited.
pianists play alone and with orchestra, it's part of the job (and yes, also with other instruments or voice..).
Despite to the opinion about the concerts, this is an additional test that completes the competition.
And the Jury in the last day can decide by also considering the previous stages, its members are not so stupid :)
BRAVO! Garcia! BRAVO! BRAVO!
Martin Garcia Garcia, your performance was an exceptional!
I was drowned into your world.
how wonderful
October 20th / the final round 3, which has just started, has a top-class line-up, exciting
Congratulations, dear Eva!XXX Bravissimo! Stunning performance!
BravissimA. Non bravissimo
So happy to have Eric Lu here in chopin talk. Such a wonderful artist.😍💜💙
I like his openness during the interview. A humble winning personality.
Martin 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏⚘
Eva made it with brillance ..the third part was pure joy of piano playing. Can t wait to hear Aimi s answer 😘😘😘
Amazing.
Garcia has the same relaxed hands that Sorita has, and so also plays each passage with precision, dynamic, and grace. Moves between the left and the right hand without losing the inner voicings that make Chopin concertos so nuanced and beautiful. Not hurried, which happens when the hands get tired. For me right now it is a tie between Garcia and Sorita. Maybe Garcia has a very slight edge.
Very different, sorita is textbook correct, the fingers move, the wrist not so much, garcia slaps his fingers down, I really dislike that
The difference is Sorita was better than Martin in the following...
The Etudes, the Ballades, the Nocturnes, the Mazurkas, the Scherzo, and the Sonatas!
@@trifonovfan9819 True that...
@@hatchegg80 If you mean he plays with his fingers a little more straight than a relaxed curve, I agree, I did see some of that a few times. But remarkably, the tension you might find from that technique didn't translate to the tone. His quiet and quick passages in the upper register still came through with nuance and beauty, traits of a relaxed hand. And his left hand work was clean, not muddy. Having that relaxed hand is key to a command performance, consitent from beginning to end.
@@stephenboyd3656 its more about movement separation. For example, hyuk Lee is great on this, some like xie and Garcia are more "handy", not the tone per se but it translates into chunky notes. One guy calls it detachee. In the long run, having economical movements improve consistency
García García has to win the concerto prize!
From this year, the Chopin concours should be able to subscribe to subtitles! Good meaning!
Chopin to najpiękniejsza spuścizna dla ludzkości.
MARTÍN GARCÍA is really good!
I'm so impressed with Eva's poise and grace (not to mention her artistry) under enormous pressure. Regardless of the final results, she has made such an impression and will be a major force in any competition she enters (still only 17!!! We're talking a decade or more of eligibility for competitions).
@Marie Bourne Maybe that's true, but Eva has already been playing quite a bit of concerti in the past. You don't just make it to the finals of the Chopin competition with no concerto experience whatsoever.
I actually think the competition should narrow its parameters to draw mostly great young talent on the cusp for whom the money, opportunities and opening of doors would be a real help. Young brilliant artists who really benefit from these introductions. The already seasoned professionals with careers may have the poise and sophistication but maybe they are at the ceiling of their potential and the benefits of the prize will never make them the kind of world class pianist they want to be
@Marie Bourne every major piano competition has an orchestra round
Martin, wyczarował pan baśniowy świat ,przyjęłam do niego zaproszenie.Cudownie!!
Eva and Sorita gave two brilliant, matchless performances. Both performances were so extraordinary and the music of Chopin came to the full measure of its genius. It was purely Chopin gifted to us by two brilliant musicians.
You need to give to Martin. He really knows how to get the absolute best sound of the Fazioli grand piano.
Indeed. I saw him at a piano store months before the competition, coming to practice on their Fazioli grand. He's been preparing for a long time.
Beautiful performance
He definitely. took its angular tone down. He knew how to handle it to best advantage

Second day of finals we could watch and listen to 2 pianists performing concerto F Minor. I waited for it and I was awarded today with the finest interpretation I've heard, since recording of Pogorelich with Chicago Symphpny Orchestra under Abbado. Thank You very much Mr. Alexander Gadjiev, for me - You are a genius! I'm so happy, that You came to Warsaw take part in the competition, otherwise I wouldn't know that there is such a great pianist. And You are still No. 1 on my list to listen after competition is over, regardless of outcome of the final round,
You have s lot of favorites. Make up your mind.
Beautifully played Eva! Specially this last movement. A big hug from somenone that could be your grandfather and have heard this concert millions of times, mostly not this well.
I know that people are enthusiastic about performances and want to praise them but announcing a winner before listening the performances of two game changer (Aimi and Bruce) don’t mean much… If those two play with their full potential, they will directly change the first 3 probably so tomorrow will be worthy of the name of The Grand Finale!
I agree.
The last group are among the favorites.
Haha, I agree with this too. The thing is, Martin has been so extraordinary, it's easy to get excited. I think Martin is going to win, but you are absolutely right, let's listen to the others. And tomorrow there are some very interesting pianists. Bruce is the one I like the most of those who have not yet played.
That is true we have yet to see the rest of the contestants, as each and every one of them is great 👍
Martin will NOT win. Or there will be an outrage among many many Chopin enthusiasts.
But no worries, he’s no where near the top contenders.
Cheers!
unless aimi does something completely silly, she will almost definitely be top 3
Martín García has given us a memorable, unbelievable performance. Pure natural talent, absolute magic. It's been a long time since I've heard anything this good in a contest. Do we have a winner?
IMO, he’s a gimmick.
And his technique is flawed.
@@trifonovfan9819 Hahaha, ok. Sometimes it is not even necessary to answer with arguments.
@@trifonovfan9819 Martin's technique is solid. Better than Trifonov.
Trifonov’s DG legacy speaks for itself.
I rest my case….
I think he won't win this competition. But, he may succeed most as a pianist in the future
What the most beautiful dolce session that Miss Eva presented in the largo movement. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
