Hyuk Lee was amazing, he's Chopin concerto no.2 was absolutely stunning. Especially the harmony with orchesta was beautiful! For me, he was the best competitor at this competition!👍
Yup... He and Garcia are my favorites. I don't know, they are the best, or I just have enough e-minor concertos.
Absolutely agreed!
He indeed was amazing in this part. Which is, by the way, my favourite part of Chopin's concertos.
He elicited a much rounder sound from the Kawai than Gadliev did yesterday.
They were all wonderful.
But I think Bruce won the contest!
Top 3 in competition metric : Liu, Lee, Sorita
Most distingushed musicians : Garcia, Kobayashi, Armelini
How can anyone decide a winner among such talented competitors? BRAVISSIMA, they are ALL great!!! 🎹💞
I love the audience in the hall which probably are mostly Polish. They have such a fine and exquisite taste of Chopin music. You can feel the energy in the hall and It was obvious to them who deserves the prize.
Bravo to the Polish audience, they are so respectful to the orchestra/soloist, giving their full attention to the musicians, I can literally hear a pin drop! You are the best audience in the world! Also must compliment the orchestra that accompanies Bruce Liu’s playing, the orchestra was brilliant!!
The Polish press said Liu’s ovation after the E minor was likely the biggest in the competition’s history.
An instant unanimous standing ovation. The audience was rapturous!
The ovation ended only after the conductor closed the lid on the piano….
Bruce didn’t even take a curtain call. He was amazingly humble.
@@LC-ig2jm I also think Bruce was also observing “competition protocol “, since this is a competition, contestants are not supposed to return for curtain calls?
Today Hyuk was the best.
I am sure the panel of judges will give top spot to Mr.Lee if they give marks on not only musical talent but also the repertory and even attitude like courtesy. :)
Mr. Lui gets my vote because he was the best in all 4 stages!
@@annettefallon1652 totally agree! Mr Liu is phenomenal and he is a league in his own! After hearing Bruce Liu played, all the other contestants are just technicians trying to outdo each other. Bruce played for pleasure and for enjoyment of every piece that he played!
Mr. Hyuk Lee's performance sounds marvelous.
@vinasu maaj tactless comment.
Bruce was spectacular in every round. The scores are up.
Bruce won every round. And the audience’s heart!
Big shoutout to the Orchestra! Well done to all the finalists and other competitors. See you all in four years!
The stamina they needed! Amazing!
nice dog you got there mate
Yes that orchestra was fantastic. Also to be able to play the same piece over and over again without getting stale and play it like it was the first time is exceptional.

Thank for Chopin Institute, we will miss Chopin Competition very much, see you in 2025, I will be there.
Hyuk Lee no.1 🥇
Miss Kobayashi - Miss Chopin... Brilliant ❤️
Bruce’s playing gives me the shivers.
Thank you, Warsaw, for sharing this amazing event with the rest of the world! I am sure the seed of Chopin's music has been planted in many young hearts whom we will hear in the future. Congratulations to 'Bruce the Great' and to all the gifted finalists! Thank you to all the amazing contestants, from round one to four - you are all great artists and winners. Thank you to the exhausted and hard working judges. Thank you to the wonderful Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra and their Maestro (they patiently played the same concertos over and over again - with the same charm). Thank you to all the organizers and the tactful media. It was an extraordinary event!!!!
My favorite, Hyuk Lee with the little boy smile 👍😊 and magic fingers!
Guided by Hayato Sumino, I started watching the Chopin Competition on You Tube.
Thanks to him, I knew the greatness of Chopin's music.
Hayato Sumino was not in the finals.
I was sad.
However, I watched the Chopin Competition he taught me until the final. And I listened to other great contestant performances.
Thank you Hayato Sumino!
Lee Hyuk!!🎹👍👍
Hyuk Lee... so amazing.......👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you to the Chopin Institute, Poland, the orchestra, the conductor, all participants, the audience. Hyuk, the Larghetto was celestial ✨✨✨
BRAVO! Thank you Chopin Institute, Warsaw Philharmonic and Mr. Conductor, organizers, jury, and piano movers! Good luck pianists!
Well said!
And tuners!!! :-)

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Chopin Institute, the competition secretariat, the Warsaw Philharmonic, the citizens of Poland and Warsaw, and all the contestants and stakeholders. Thank you so much!
amazing Bruce Liu,He is my favorite of all the finalists, I wish him a great musical career ahead, congratulations!
I give my heart out to all contestants and Chopin institute for the past weeks of pure bliss. It has been a very difficult year for us all, and these are times that I will never forget. Thankyou for bringing so much Chopin to us.. he is alive and well in our hearts. Bravo!
Piekne slowa ....❤❤❤
Lee Hyuk! Chopin is singing with the angels xx
(My take on who was the most impressive throughout the competition)
1st Prize: Kyohei Sorita
2nd Prize: Bruce (Xiaoyu) Liu
3rd Prize: Aimi Kobayashi
4th Prize: Hyuk Lee
5th Prize: Martín García García
6th Prize: Hao Rao
Excluding the other finalists is not easy since to me it's very close beyond 4th Prize. Anyway, we'll see what the Jury really came up with.
None is up to the standard set by Seong-Jin Cho ( I am not a fan of his).
Respectfully, Bruce is every bit as phenomenal as Mr. Cho, with even more depth and musicianship……
@@bobbarns4516 🙌🙌👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
@@WenTingChiu not true, Bruce Liu has set a record that will be hard to beat! He is just phenomenal, a league of his own that will be epic in music history!
Aimi Kobayashi was absolutely magnificent, I was transported to another dimension by her playing. It felt like the music came directly from her soul :)
nope. I see only mimic but less in fingers. to play directly from soul u must switch off ur brain. but in competition its a bit risky..
She is singing, not some guy who only flexing arpeggios and chromatics on stage.
I can't get enough of the E minor concert. Even if I heard it for the first time around 30 years ago, it still gives me bumps. One of the best music ever written.
And no one plays it better than Bruce!
Listen to Kanye he’s pretty good.
Wow. Too many talented contestants this year. What a joy to watch them all
The winner is Chopin. Every piece is better than it can ever be played. Chopin conquers the cultured and feeling world. Second place to Steinway who provided two drop dead gorgeous pianos. Third place to Warsaw which put on a wonderful competition which they shared with everyone. And bravo to piano teachers everywhere who brought forward such a wonderful crop of young talent.
They are no best in the world, they are still a way to develop.
If you are real musician , you should know they have balance in harmony tension and resolve.
I am still think Chopin is not the best, my biased is on Beethoven.
But Artist should value their art is what they done. That is what I should respect between the respect and my preference.

Huge bravo to Hyuk Lee, my favorite pianist in the finals.
I think Hyuk Lee is the best player in the final round. I don’t understand why he didn’t get a prize.
@@jungminoh527 yes. His interpretation of the concerto was one of the best I’ve heard

Aimi LIVED once again Chopin's work!!!

The conductor is being interviewed in Polish tv now. He is praising all finalists but mentioned especially the beautuful sound played by Aimi Kobayashi
Outstanding Hyuk Lee!!!!
Bruce is no.1, if I had lots of money, I would bet it all! He was just scintillating, amazing, exuberant, poised, meaningful, mature, ALL THE DAMN ADJECTIVES!
😁
Absolutely without a doubt - he has to be THE Winner !
mój ranking 6 miejsc …
1)Bruce Liu
2)Sorita
3)Aimi
4)Rao
5)Alexander
6)Eva
7)Lee
Bruce is really good player but on this round he made too many obvious mistakes. Because of that, I have hard time seeing judges scoring high.
@@usstockchannel we will find out but on a technical analysis he made fewer mistakes than any of the other finalists (which shouldn't matter at all, but anyway!)
All the people commenting Bruce Liu's tempo being too fast have obviously never heard Heifetz play the violin.
It’s supposed to be fast and Bruce Liu certainly has no problem playing it the way is meant to be, no wonder the audience could not contain the excitement and couldn’t wait to jump to their feet for a standing ovation even before the orchestra could play the final chord, that’s how stunning Bruce Liu’s performance was!!!
Thanks all competitors and Chopin institute! It was amazing experience to see all of the beautiful concerts in live.
No matter who wins! Many peoples were happy with your music last few weeks. Thanks again and congrats 👏👏👏👏
Congrats to all the winners!
I am just thankful for this wonderful experience to witness international piano competition. I did not expect this would be possible and it has been like a dream from prelim to final. Thank all the contestants for incredible performance and thanks Chopin Institute to make it available on line. I also enjoyed interacting with international audience via live chat too. Thank you.
Very intimate performance by Hyuk Lee
What a evening! Every pianists were great! But Mr. Kuszlik 😍.. I was absolutely speechless. beautiful performance. Mr.Liu, I'm definitely your big fan 😍 since I've heard you in prelims. Mr. Lee. You enchanted me with your interpretation. Ms. Kobayashi you're so passionate and I heard it today with every single body cell ❤️🤗. Thank you!
Mr Liu won the audience’s heart with the biggest standing ovation ever!
See for yourself!

For Bruce too!
@@trifonovfan9819 whatever
THANK YOU to all competitors, artists, for the past few weeks of pure joy! I have fallen in love Chopin once again
So fantastic to have this, I'm sure many people around their world dusted off some sheet music this month!

i will miss those evenings and weekends with all you guys watching Chopin Competition via YT while reading comments on live chat 🎹🥰✌️
Every notes having own characteristics in Bruce Liu’s concerto👏👏👏just amazing!!!
Bravo every beautiful playing♡♡♡♡♡
THANK YOU! Wonderful competition!
Bravo an Alle!
JAKUB KUSZLIK will have a great career as a pianist - and I would be very happy to attend his concerts! Gorgeous!
Chopin was a great Polish musician.
Good things come to those who wait. Or perhaps the competitors playing last had just that little bit more time to prepare, and 48 hours is a lot of time for a professional pianist. In any case, Lee and Liu put on I think the two best concerto performances in the finals. Lee looks a winner to me, and is of the Yundi Li type. Bruce finally managed to be relaxed and the results were beautiful enough to assure him of a medal.
Wonderful play!
I am super late for this, but only recently in December 2022, Artificial Intelligence recommended for my viewing experience a video of three young pianists talking about piano and one girl mentioned that one of her favorite pianists is Aimi Kobayashi. Curious I am, I googled Aimi and that started my Chopin marathon, particularly this 18th Chopin Competition. Now I am listening to Bruce Liu, Kyohei Sorita, Aimi Kobayashi and Cateen channel. All the competitors are super talented and strong! Thank you, Poland for sharing Chopin music to the world!!!
Lee’s performance is so amazing!
This competition has been such an international treat! Gratitude to Chopin Institute, organizers, technicians, jury and many others involved-so much exceptional young talent feeding our souls…during pandemic ❤️
Bruce Liu wasn’t there to compete, he came to give a concert! 😻 Aimi Kobayashi gave a masterful performance, but Eric’s was so full of colors, he was having fun, and didn’t take himself all too serious. Clear winners both.

Thank You for all pianists and Really appreciate again the great opportunity to watch online the wonderful competition together also in Korea. So happy in this October thanks to the Chopin competition. Expecting the next winners' concert and also good result for Korean artist, Hyuk Lee.
Bruce = legendary performance
It was fantastic moments! I really appreciate to Chopin Institute and people in Poland! Of course, Warsaw Philhamonic! It was tremendous moment! Lee's Concerto #2 nailed to the end. My heart was beautifully and warmly filled. Lee became Chopin himself. And also Bruce his Concerto #1 3rd Mov was fantastic. Specifically, these two performers were really out-standing. Again I deeply appreciate to all of them. Thank you so much!
Bruce won the concerto tonight! Bravo!

What will I do after competition???😭
Interesting & enjoyable to see & hear so many talented pianists. A special thanks to the orchestral conductor who did a remarkable job coping with all the different interpretations of the same pieces over twelve performances. Impossible to really say who is better at this level & that is why I think a festival of Chopin’s music, including chamber music, rather than a competition would honour Chopin’s memory in a much more respectable way. We are excited by competition but I agree with Bela Bartok’s comment, ‘ Competitions are for horses, not artists ‘.
Nope, someone makes it better, other worse.

Finally some color out the Low End of Kawai and Fazioli.
No pianist enjoyed playing Chopin as much as Bruce.
My favorite concertos were Sorita, and then Garcia Garcia and Kuszlik, and then Hao Rao and Hyuk Lee. Also a shoutout to Bruce Liu's rondo vivace! I wasn't in love with his first and second movements, but that third movement was just thrilling, and a great ending to the competition!
