@@AnnaMaruchahad to disagree with you, Bruce also has both speed AND musicality, therefore he has to win, which I think the jury was right on to choose Bruce as the winner. Actually to me, JJ has the technique for sure, but at 17 years old, I think he still lacks the experiences of life to feel deep emotions yet. But he has many years ahead of him to mature into that and he will have a great musical future for sure. Bravo JJ!
J J if you read this. Please know that I'm a fan. Thank you for bringing back my love for classical music and for making me love chopin. Congratulations for making it to the finals .
Extraordinary young man, with such natural interpretive skills. He really feels all the nuances of Chopin. His phrasing has such a flow to it. Joyful and wonderful to hear this performance. Good luck JJ Jun Li Bui !
Something nociceable about his playing: When, for instance, the storm comes in the second Ballade, he doesn't "announce" it as a startling, dramatic turning point, instead he goes into it as an organist would lead the congregation in at the beginning of each line of a hymn. There's no smackdown, but the effect is still extremely, equally dramatic, and more plastic and affecting. It's sort of a friendly way to play.
What artistry and sheer beauty in his sound. He possesses a gift for the most natural phrasing and shaping of notes. A Michelangelo and Shakespeare of piano playing.
He is the most mature of all the teenagers. In fact, his artistry and technique is among the best 3 in this competition. He should medal. Along with Rao and Bruce Lui.
Just BRAVO. Absolutely stunning performance. Perfect for every sounds. He pulled the best out of great bass and crystal clear Kawaii Shigeru piano sounds.
Good sense of dynamics and emotional playing as much as it's incredible that he is just 17!! Good potential he has. Always very happy to have such the new gifted young. Cheer for you, JJ.
I enjoy his presentation. Playing gently. Feel the music and every note when playing. He is trying to express the message from Chopin. Delivering Chopin’s emotion during composition over two hundreds years before… Thanks for connecting with Chopin 🙏🏻
I have enjoyed it, really! Absolutely perfect technically and so deep..Such a beautiful sound. What I liked in the sonate is mysticism coupled with heroism. It was great.
I have to add that for me, listening to his Sonata Largo performance was a spiritual experience. What an artist! I'd walk miles to hear him play. Bravo!!!
His notes just bounce off the keys. They sparkle with joy and triumph. What a colorful imagination and super control of his technique. He is very cute too (from an elderly Chinese lady...ha...ha..).
J J is still one of my absolute favorites (along with Bruce Liu and Alexander Gadjiev), but I do think he played better in earlier rounds. We'll see how he does in the final. I just love the sparkle in his sound!

One of the best. Best rondo ala mazurka I’ve heard

JJ feeds my soul with his lyrical piano playing 😇 ✨
A magical (and magisterial) reading of the sonata , with the 'non tanto' of the final movement keenly respected. Bravo!
