Found the channel yesterday, been sucked in since. You may never see this, and may have come to these conclusions since, but having experience running a CNC Plasma cutter two things for the future. That outer profile, plus the plate thickness, would be large enough that it wouldn't move to cut 5 circles. Had you started there you could have "E-Stopped" immediately. As a HS shop teacher that's one approach I have with students so, if the profile is off, hopefully we didn't waste time and materials for a screw-up. Secondly, on the CAM software I use I can select where the lead-in and cut path begin, had you selected a corner, the negative space from the radius probably would have given enough space to avoid the blow-out. Either way you're right, that stuff won't ever be noticed, but some suggestions.

    Art is:
what this piece says to me and how I respond to it.
This is your tree of life, it says.
And It causes me to reflect on my life:
I'm now 86, four years out of chemotherapy, confined to a recliner
(the chemo saved me but wrecked my breathing).
The tree. It's tall. As I was once at 6' 6"
The steel. It's strong. As I was once in the Army.
It's all a bit rusty. As I surely am now.
The spiral is my chain of inherited genetic information.
It all started with my life-giving helix building blocks.
Spiral it all again with simple hand tools to further build.
This is my tree of life.
    Life is beautiful.

Hi, I just want to let you know that I was mesmerized by your project and was glued to my iPad for 2 days and nights until 2 and 3 in the mornings! I just happened to have it showed on the iPad. I am 96 years old and retired from Painting 🖼 and contracting business and the iPad and 60 in 📺 are my entertainment. Keep up the great work you do!

Sorry Tye but i always love your videos with Wyatt in them-just cos he's funny! (...so are you).
Loved your factory fitout- that's where i found your youtube clips. As a mechanic but also an avid maker i loved all the machines. Hell week was great-love your metal work bench and first time seeing a plasma cutter working, and will continue watching your videos as i am learning a lot of new stuff, even at 56. Get your patreon going so i can send you some AU$ from Perth Austraia

Just watched the 4hours on your shop rebuild refit now watching the helical video absolutely brilliant but have to ask when the overhead drive shaft got damaged why didn't you replace that section with parts from other shafts you took down as you certainly have the skill and equipment to have repaired it you said about running a fan off it in your office.

    Wait a minute.
You built the helixes symmetrical. I.e., 180 deg from each other.
However, the DNA helix is offset from 180. A kind of twist at the base.
I don't know what that angle is but it's NOT 180 deg.
    I think it's offset by 14deg, or 180 +- 14, or 166deg and 194deg around the base.

According to AI, "If you are born at 6 PM, the astrological implications include being empathetic and attuned to the needs of others. Individuals born during this time tend to be easy-going and accepting of life as it is. Evening-born individuals are often intuitive, creative, and possess a depth of perception, making them excellent problem solvers. Overall, evening births are associated with a sense of mystery and allure."
Happy to query to fulfill your hippie-chick needs.

Well, I came across your channel this morning. I subscribed a but ago. You can add me to your "1%" of females that watch you. You/y'all do great work. So when using that plasma cutter, how are you not cutting through the supports that the stuff is resting on? Or cut all the way through it? (I know nothing about how those things work.)

It look's a little weird it's because the extra ribbon with all those tools you put on the outside, is missing it's counterpart. Should have put another ribbon of tools mimicking the inside. That would have made it look much much better. Instead of just having one ribbon of tools. It's very unpleasing for the eyes to spot asymmetrical thing's.

      for?
      this video?
      this sculpture?
the hosting of the data that makes the video?
      the camera used to film?
the material used to make this?
I'm gonna go ahead and say yes, for all of those, since corporations are in a legal sense considered people. the ads/sponsors pay for some things.....
none the less money makes the world go round so next time you are wondering this notion .....yes is likely the answer, and you will no longer need to post a comment that can be perceived ......kinda rude and thus making the world just a little bit better.,
