what does it mean if I pump the master cylinder and no resistance/pressure being made; no fluid comes out of the bleeders at each wheel? I have just put on new brake cylinders and followed your directions for disasemblying the master cylinder (cleaned it as didn't get rebuild kit).
I just done the same on my 03. Never could get any resistance on the hand brake lever. Replaced that master cylinder and had no problems getting great brakes.
Quick question, my front brake handle is very tight. Will only come back about a quarter of an inch. But the front brakes do work, and they work well. But I am concerned about the tight lever, not sure if that is an issue if the brakes still work fine?
james pruitt u should try to have it, the outer brake drum has a rubber seal, i like to grease that seal a little helps keep foreign objects out, and it theres no vent line it will have crap pour into it. If you were to simply plug it it will create a leak around the seal and let foreign objects in that way
Trying to vacuum bleed my brakes after replacing the shoes. I notice a lot of bubbles after multiple attempts to bleed each side. Not getting much stopping power. I noticed when you were bleeding with the mighty vac you had a lot of bubbles also. Is that normal and still acceptable or should it be just fluid?
Hey bud, im having issues trying to bleed my 89 fourtrak. I put new pads new cylinders and a new used master cylinder and i can't bleed it and there is no more air in the line that it seems.
Hey brother I was having the same problem I just kept writing for years with no brakes and just said fuck it. But as I got older and wiser I just wanted to fix it. I did the same thing put new brakes new master cylinders and seems like I couldn't get the air out. What you gotta do is adjust them almost all the way out to where you can barely squeeze the drum on You might even tighten it more once you get the drum on then squeeze the brakes breaks and you will have breaks and you will be like oh my God. If you notice the brakes are too tight and it's dragging the 4 Wheeler just backup the adjustment a little bit until the it until the bike moves freely
@@dustinbowen7201 Adjust the brakes out just enough to where you barely can get the drum back on. I tried bleeding my front brakes with a mightyvac hand pump. It seems like air and brake fluid are flowing into the clear tube, after I close the bleeder valve on the brake panel. Can you tell me why this is happening? And as a separate question, do the crush washers for the banjo bolt HAVE to be OEM?
Partzilla I bleeded my brakes after changing pads got fluied to come out bleeder valve after lines were emply but brakes are not getting hard and not working yet . ? Im wondering if my caliper seals went bad now or what?
i have a 1986 honda trx 350 4x4 and i'm having trouble with my front brakes BARELY working. I have bled my brakes *maybe not enough* put new shoes on and rebuilt my front brake wheel cylinders. But it seems as though as there to much pressure on my front brakes and they barely work. When I push in my front brakes I can't even get them to go all the way back to the handle bar. The lever moves maybe 4 inches and then I slow down but do not stop by any means. By the way i had to buy an aftermarket master cylinder, I just bought an OEM one on ebay and i'll be buying the rebuild kit. Any suggestions? thx
I’ve replaced the rear brakes on my Honda rancher 420 but after I got it back together; there is no reaction after I tried to apply the brake. Can you think of what may be causing this? I don’t believe the back brakes need to be bled like the front but I’m not 100% sure...help! Please :)
Your back brakes are mechanical. They can be fixed with lubrication of wires and Springs new pads. It's very technical and in time consuming people give up quick. Front brakes are hard too because they're hydraulic and I'm actually trying to get all the air out of my front brakes, got the back brakes fixed really good. If you can't figure out how to get the small wire to stay put for back breaks attack welded mine Make sure you lubricate where the brake pads move
Just got front brakes to work need to adjust master cylinders almost all the way out! to were drum belay goes over brakes!!! That's why nobody can get the air out. It's not air its adjustment. If hard to move when done adjust back a little bit. 15 years no break's. Now front and back break's are 💪

This unit doesn't have hydraulic rear brakes-- they're cable actuated. We did do a video though on changing the brake shoes on the rear drum brake: ua-cam.com/video/qEQ8yU-DyYo/v-deo.html We replace the foot and hand brake cables here: ua-cam.com/video/73yD2RxrLxA/v-deo.html
I'm having a problem, when I fill the reservoir up and pump the brake lever nothing will come out of the bleeder valve when I open it up. Could it possibly be a clogged hose?
Thanks for the great video. Is this the same process for a 2011 kawasaki prairie 360 4x4? Please advise. Thanks in advance.
its the same process for basically every hydraulic brakes even car brakes
Little advice is try rubbing WD-40 on the seals. Good way to displace some water that may get in.
my front brakes dont work no pressure at all u have yo pump it for it to slightly add pressure do you know what is the problem?
Would the procedure be the same on a 2004 honda recon 250?
Yes

what is your little fluid vacuum called?

Start with the simple answer, replace the washers on your banjo bolts for the brake line. Sounds like there is an air leak somewhere.
