Partzilla is a great site but $120 plus $30 shipping is silly. I got OEM parts off Amazon for just over $40 all in and went on the same as Honda parts as I have replaced the front brakes on my 2001 Foreman 450s before with genuine parts. Watched this for a refresher though and very good instructional video.
Hey I have a 99 Honda foreman 450 and I replace the whole front brakes, wheel cylinders, and master cylinder and the brakes still won't stop the machine. Any suggestions. Thanks
@@chrismaragoudakis7603 did you adjust the cylinder assembly so the brake shoes barely touch inside the drum? That or you possibly have an air lock in the lines and bleeding them and topping off the reservoir should help? Some of the bolts for the master cylinder have holes for oil flow they may not be lined up
I’m not getting pressure when I pump the brake lever next to the master cylinder on the handlebar. As a result, my front brakes don’t work. Can you offer some advice?
What would be causing my brakes to be hard to press. My front brake on both sides are super tight, and I can't squeeze them. The foot brake goes down and doesnt stop the bike then i have to use my foot to lift it back up..
Very informative video! How big of a difference would a 93 Honda Fourtrax trx300fw be following about the same procedure as the video. I have to replace all 4 tires and front right CV shaft so i figured why not replace the master cylinder and brake shoes since i am down there.
Great videos, if that’s the correct name. Have a new 520 manual, a 2003 350 2wd and a 1997 2wd 300 from new. These videos are great as I’m into brakes etc on the two older bikes. Seems a nice sort of guy also. David brown Bushmills N Ireland👍
need help i change the master cylinder have presser but the tires keep rolling other words try to slow down nothing happens its like the harder i squeeze the handle doesn't make no difference new brakes and wheel cylinders was replace i had brakes when i startered but not now
You forgot to put a very thin wipe of white lithium (as HONDA uses) or specific high temp brake grease on each of the three raised pads the shoes rest on the backing plate, without the grease the shoes won't push out or retract smoothly or retract at all & drag on the drum.
What do you mean the pistons are stuck? A little more detail on what it's doing would help. Typically, if the pistons won't move at all, you will have to take the caliper apart and inspect them.

Yes I adjusted the wheel cylinders quite a bit. Maybe I need to go more. Bleed the brake lines too. But the handle still feels spongie. Thanks
Best Honda atv videos on the net, thanks!

Same problem
Sama problem. Did ever figure it out?

Doubt I’ll get a response. But the hub is locked up and can’t spin it to be able to do what you did. Any other way to do it?

Braking system is mechanically the same. Might be some subtle differences just from the age difference.
if u got the money and time do it. its urs wanna right good
Thanks for the video! One question: What kind of grease are you using? I’m new to all of this. Thanks!
6:10, I don’t have rubber grommets with my kit??
Good video, you explained everything perfectly

Does this video and procedure work for a 2004 rancher 400 with front drums? Are they the same?
Great video, thank you.

Very good walk through on everything.
Thank you for a very well done video. With your help, I got mine running today.

How do I compress the cylinders on a 2001 recon? And how do I bleed the brake lines
You forgot to mention ,up or down with the brake adjustment , goes in or out? If you don't have wheel of.
.my o6 Forman 4x4 has 2 bolts on face of drum do I remove the bolts to take off drum
I got the bottom left gear to turn in but the top right one is completely seized up preventing my from getting the hub off

Just the video I was NOT looking for. Those brakes are nothing like what is actually on the Recon.
I like to spray paint my outter hubs Black or Red......Helps to keep them clean and looks cool.
Hey I am having to replace the friction plates on my honda rancher 350 but don't know how could you make a video explaining how to do
Manual shift
Could you please do a video on how to unfreeze the foot brake pedal on a Honda Recon 250
Rear brakes are seized. Watch videos on how to fix there are several on here. It's not to difficult to fix.
How do you adjust the brake?? I put new set of pads but they still won’t engage
You can adjust where it engages, but it sounds more like you need to bleed the lines.
allo , you one video , for change the joint back the front whell ? tk
it would be awesome if u could do a video on how to replace the neutral safety switch on a 06cbr1000rr
We will add it to the suggestion list!
Nice work

I bought a used atv and the pistons are stuck I know you probably won’t answer but can someone get please help?

let it sit on dizel or wd40
I'm having the same issue I cant remove the hub assembly. I tightened the pistons clockwise as far as they will go and hub is stuck
I’m having the same problem on a 06 Honda rancher 2wd, hub spins freely but will not come off of the spindle
Maestro son muy buenos sus vídeos pero sería tan amable de poner en subtítulos en español ok
Would this be the same as on an 03 Foreman 450?
Same process.
Muy buena explicación
How do u adjust the front brake level
I assume you mean the pads. Watch this part of the video. It mentions how to adjust pads.
