That's a great rifle! You'll love that shorter barrel as well and you'll pick it up quickly. I recommend checking out Thomas Haglund's (THLR.NO) channel here on youtube for some excellent, no B.S. tutorials on practical long range shooting. He's the best. I'll be putting up some videos soon where I work on applying some of his teachings. Stay tuned.
@@Strelnikov10 i installed the krg bolt knob... my thumb was getting chewed up cycling the action... also i went with hs precision 10 round bottom metal... no malfunctions at all so far and it dropped right in without any fitment issues... i love everything about my setup...
Ive got almost the same set up only with a bell and carlson sendero style stock with an 11 twist barrel. Its a work in progress and still a ways to go with additional ad ons
I believe these are Low leupold MK4 rings. They are the heavy duty steel version. It's been more than a decade since I bought them though, so I can't be sure the height. I'll try to measure them when I get home from work.
It is a 1:12" twist. This was originally an SPS Varmint model, so the twist was slowed a bit to allow the use of the lighter 110gr vmax bullet (I'm assuming). I find that it has no trouble stabilizing 175-178gr projectiles though. Shoots the 178 Amax lights out.
@@Strelnikov10 Thank you that's exactly what I need to know. I have an old Police model with a 26 inch barrel as well and I have been trying to talk myself into cutting it down to 18". I dont know why I haven't done it yet...
@@adobochronicle Oh, it's definitely worthwhile. I even noticed groups tighten up very nicely when I did it. And I'm still pushing strong enough velocities for this to be a 1K yard rifle. For .308, I think an 18" barrel is perfect.
Who doesn’t have a suppressor in 2023
God, you're so cool.
@@Strelnikov10 why no suppressor
@@GideonHawk-j8i Didn't realize they were required.

Then you have a fun journey ahead of you. I'll post another video shooting this rifle sometime today.
What height are those Leupold rings? They are the perfect height

Unless I missed it, what is the twist rate of the barrel?
