    Hello, Adam. I'm from Russia. Some idioms, that you're talking about, have similar in Russian. For example, break out in a cold sweat, rub salt in someone's wound, Just what the doctor ordered. They have similar meaning. Thank you.

    Thanks, Adam. It is great to understand "every single word" a native speaker says 😀. It feels really good. When I think it is impossible to learn English (almost giving up) I see your videos and hope comes again 😆. Your examples are great.

      I feel the same. Don't forget Adam is a teacher, though. He makes sure to speak clearly to be well understood. In a informal conversation you're gonna see the real fast talk. Try videos made by natives, Demolition Ranch and Kentucky ballistics. Also, check the All Ears English podcast. It's a fantastic way to practice the listening.

    It's really interesting that Chinese and English have many similar sayings. To rub salt in the wound also appears in Chinese and means the same!

    Adam, I couldn't stop thinking about you and decided to scratch that itch and watch this video. Your lesson in the wee hours is just what the doctor ordered. Though, I nearly blacked out after learning that you have a girlfriend. Hearing about your second girlfriend was like rubbing salt on my wound. It really was a bitter pill to swallow.

    Would you please explain about differences between "Concession" and "Contrast" ?
    I have read some topics, but didn't catch the difference.
    Moreover, some people count "However" as a concession word and the others count it as a contrast word.
