This was the first European confection I ever learned how to make, store bought lady fingers were what I used but it’s always a go to. I think it’s one of the best desserts for beginners baking the lady fingers or otherwise.

It’s safe if your eggs are fresh. Martha has hens that lay her eggs so hers are super fresh. If you buy store bought eggs I would temper them before adding to this dish

For Tiramisu (what Martha did is not Tiramisu) you should use eggs that are a couple of days old. Otherwise it could happen that the cream is getting too liquefied.
