My dad had a warrant for now showing up in court over a speeding ticket that he though was over with. 8 years after the ticket he got pulled over and was took to jail. It baffles me to this day that he was "on the run" for 8 years and lived less than half a mile from the courthouse and police dept. 🤣 He pretty much laughed with the cop. The cop even let him finish driving to work and park his car there so he didn't have to get it towed.

    Another informative video.
I was wondering if you have ever defended 1A auditors or have an opinion about this practice/movement?

Very helpful. Very informative. Now what happens if the police arrive at your home with a search warrant and you don't want to consent to the search? Should you ask them what they are looking for? What rights do you have to prevent it?Should you contact your attorney immediately and refuse to have your house searched until your attorney arrives? What do you do?

      Hello Dale,
If the police show up to your residence with a valid search warrant, It wouldn't matter if you refused to consent to the search. The warrant is essentially a court order, and the police would have to execute the warrant.
However if they asked you to search your home and they did not have a warrant, you are not obligated to allow them to search your residence. In any situation where the police have a warrant to search your belonging or residence, there is likely something criminal in nature that they are investigating, and it would be a good idea to reach out to an attorney or somebody to make sure that your interests are being protected.

Try contacting the public defender's office in Charles County, MD and see if they can assist you. You may eventually have to appear in person to clear the warrant but all of that can be arranged with the right lawyer. Best of luck to you!

The problem with all warrants is usually they are not bonafide and predicated upon probable cause per the Fourth Amendment..and upon true oath or affirmation and definitely NOT the PERSON it is describing is you but an ens Legis.. smh. These are all courts of Admiralty and not courts sitting at common law!

Question: Is there a way to proactively check for warrants on themselves? I've seen/heard of too many instances where a person doesn't even know about a warrant until they're detained by an LEO for completely unrelated reasons.
I know when LEOs want to satisfy their addiction to IDing people, they search several databases. Are these databases FOIA-able by citizens? If so, how?
    Very informative; thanks as always.

Our criminal justice system is so messed up! We should be forced to turn ourselves in for stuff we didn't do!

I have a warrant out for my arrest for burglary of a building. I was called in and told they wouldn’t press charges and I brought some of the stuff I took back. A month later I found out they went ahead and pressed charges and to be honest I am unemployed and trying to get a job. I can’t afford turn myself in right now. So the question is if you know. Can I still get jobs with a arrest warrant? I need time and I’m not sure if my felony warrant is going to get in the way of me getting a job. I called the bonds office and they said I have a 20000 dollar bond. And have to pay 10% of that. Idk I’m sorry I just have a lot of questions.

      Hi Jalen,
Sorry to hear about your situation. It sounds like if you already have a bond in your case, then this is a situation where you've already been charged in court. That means you should have an attorney and you may want to contact them to find out the best options available to you.
If you didn't hire an attorney of your own, you may want to start by contacting your local public defender's office to see if an attorney has already been appointed to represent you. It's much easier to contact an attorney than to take your chances hoping that no one finds you on the warrant. Hope all works out for you.

    • @MyDcLaw

You may want to consult a lawyer in Louisiana about that. Getting a marriage license at some point requires someone to go to the courthouse. Most court houses have sheriffs, police officers, or US marshals. A Law enforcement officer can potentially arrest you if you have an outstanding warrant. Good luck to you!
