When To Ask For A Warrant Part 2 - Arrest Warrants
My response is (said in the nicest way) “would you mind telling me?”
I always say, "evidently not fast enough because you caught me"
(Best Response & Real Mind Control) "I understand you're just doing your job, and I would be more than happy to answer your questions once I've had the chance to talk with my lawyer. What was the reason for the stop today?" From experience, before the cop can utter a word, I normally say, "Hey, how's it going?" or if the interaction sounds like I might get a ticket, I'll proceed to use real-life jedi mind tricks... "Hey officer, a bit off topic, do you know where (XYZ) closest gas station is to us?" If the officer responds genuinely,"Yeah, it's right up the street, just take a left" Me "Awesome, thanks" I've successfully changed his thinking pattern from "I am going to nail this guy" to "I am helpful." It also satisfy their ego, because it allows them to flex their intelligence. They always let me go.
That’s a completely incompetent statement you have made ma’am. You stated “ My clients on DUIs”. So your telling criminals, not tell the truth ??? Then you tell people that to answer a question to the police officer with a question?? You really want business I guess. Don’t do anything to get pulled over by the police is number one !!!!!! Secondly, not a good idea to be like that immediately to the police. So I ask “ do you know how fast you were going ?” So if I pull you over as a policeman, I am going to tell you freaking why I pulled you over immediately because that’s how it done !!!!! We aren’t trying to waste time and play “ Hey, let’s trick people today!”!!! While we have body cameras, unit video and audio, radio traffic, dispatcher and CAD units all running at the same time. Ma’am you need to stop watching television and live in the real world. What you suggest is absurd. Do you want the truth because, it’s not a trick question at all. As an adult with driving privileges you should at all times be aware of your actions and surroundings for your safety. The question is a simple honest question, Ma’am or Sir do you know how fast you were going ?? Sometimes people don’t realize or are distracted for some reason. So when the officer asks he’s actually asking if you know. He’s also trying to grasp your level of coherent behavior. Maybe you are a diabetic, maybe your child is sick at home, maybe you are sick, maybe you caught your wife being a hoe ??? So, you have the responsibility as a privilege driver to operate a vehicle in public to follow the rules set that you agreed to when you got them. That included safe operating and being checked for sobriety and proper paperwork while out in public. Read the darn laws in your state. So, how in the great big wide world by answering a simple question a trick ????? Do you know how fast you were going ??? I am sure that to a five year old that might be a trick but not to a of age person allowed to earn driving privileges!!!! So as an adult just tell the officer the damn truth. I don’t know or not really. You would be amazed by being honest and polite how as a former officer it’s refreshing not to be lied to or treated like I am going to “ trick” you. I have better things to do than “ trick” people !! You see why lawyer have crap reputations …. They don’t tell the truth. They are only needed when people do stupid things and get caught. You do realize that today we have radar that’s used. Then video, then the GPS and then officer training??? So the good old boy days are really not there like you tell people they are. Overall people are dumber and you don’t need to “ trick “ them. Why not tell them the truth. Be nice and respectful, if you get a speeding ticket and were speeding……. What’s the problem?? Don’t speed and take responsibility for your own actions !!!! If you get a ticket because you think you were “ tricked “ then you more help than a lawyer can provide!!
That's pretty good advice while your rights are being violated in the present. You forgot to tell them they also MUST verbally invoke unequivocally, their constitutional rights and not just the 5th Amendment and 6th Amendment but include the 1st, 6th, 8th and 14th to truly cover all the (what I call) necessary rights . To many criminal and civil cases against cops have been dismissed or cops have been given qualified immunity in civil cases because there was no "unequivocal invoking of rights". Now AFTER the cops are done violating your rights and you are released (maybe out on bond) you MUST go to the nearest FBI office to report the violations to the enforcing agency for constitutional violations which is the United States Department Of Justice. Constitutional violations are a federal crime under the United States Code (a misdemeanor or a felony dependent upon the circumstances). The DOJ with their investigating agency (FBI) will arrest, charge and prosecute the violators. Convictions for the crime/s will "clearly establish" these as violations of constitutional and statutory law and eliminate qualified immunity from lawsuits for the same.
Been pulled a few times not one time have i been asked that. The cop always says i clocked you at...
Always ask them for their name and ID.. specially if you're a first amendment auditor.. never be afraid of the police.. never helped the police to investigate you... The police are not your friends... Just like the government and the Democratic party are not your friends
Very basic yet informative. Also it's good not to create unnecessary conflict. Great vid
So you challenge the officer by arguing with him, which in my state would not go over well.
Yes, but do you know how fast I was driving. I love this, I was pulled over for swerving, I knew I hadn't swerved, he was new on the force, I live in a small town and am on first name basis with most of our officers. So I said okay, give me my ticket and be sure to bring the video to court. I was having fun with him, he really pulled me over because I drive an ugly 1995 Honda Accord. It looks like your typical poverty stricken drug car. 😂😂😂 In actuality is has less than 70,000 miles on it and it runs great, outside of the paint it's a really great car. Once he saw me and saw my driver's license he started to back pedal. I am old and have a commercial driver's license with no wants or warrants. That was the most fun I've had in a long time.
Idiot lawyer.
This is STUPID advice, especially if you are filming the officer. You want the officer to state his or her name and badge number because you may not remember it later. Also, if the officer has a name that is difficult to pronounce or spell, it will hurt you if it goes to trial. Jurors want solid proof and not what you remembered after the incident is over.
"I know what my speedometer was registering"
I tell the officer I always go the speed limit.
On the few times I have been stopped, my standard go-to response is "Yes, I know what my speedometer was showing." Then he/she asks how fast were you going? My reply "I cannot admit to going anything over the speed limit." Answering their 'fishing' inquiries truthfully and not admitting to breaking the law.
I just answer "sure" and say nothing more.
Simple… it pisses them off… no need to do thst…it’s rude…
I had a cop ask me that question: Do you know how fast you where going? I answered the question: "YES." He then asks "Do you know why it took me so long to catch up to you?" I ask: Where you having lunch? office "no", Where you doing you paperwork? office "no", Did you have car trouble? office "no", where you taking a nap? office "NO!", Than officer I really don't know why it took you so long to catch up to me. Did you actually see me speeding? Office "Well no.." Well I'm really glad we cleared that up... he just said "Have a nice night" and he turned and walked away.. 🙂
Well done. Thank you.
"Do you know how fast you were driving?" At which point? It was zero right at the end there.
My answer is "Why don't you tell me?"
Intelligent, hard working, driven, drop dead gorgeous. God bless hope this lady gets everything she deserves
Drug dogs should be tracked. If a dog alert is 100 percent to search then the dog must have a 60 percent success rating to stay working. It will stop false alerts.
The real answer is "The speed limit". If you say "Yes" or "No" then you can trap your self. Can also just say "I don't wish to answer your questions" and remain silent too.
I got a speeding ticket once and went to court. Some guy side swiped a car. He plead not guilty and his defense was that he was a salesman looking for a house. There was a piece of gum on the bottom of his shoe that made him side swipe a car. This make no sense. Of course, he was found guilty.
How about when they say i pulled you over today for going over the speed limit
"I dont answer questions"
IF YOU ARE A DEI PERSON YOU SHOULD GO TO TRIAL
From what I heard about DUIs the prosecution will give you less time if you plead guilty right away in the more that you let time pass they will give you more time in jail
Just respond with “well since you don’t know, am I free to go?”
All you need is the car number and day date time . After that call the city government.
Yes. When I said "Yes, but the question is, do you know how fast I was going?", he just smiled and said, slow it down, OK?
I want them to know.
When the dog doesn't produce drugs then the cops needs investigated and reprimanded.
FEED HIM A TREAT AND NO VIOLATION!
If it’s a 40 limit, just say ‘less than 40’. Simples. If it’s more, they’ll soon tell you!
I just went though this in Mississippi and got took to jail and now having to fight against this and ways held out in the cold for a 1 hr and they send I was avoiding them so what can o do
They force me to get out of the car because I had a gun in my truck and then he took my gun I need to find a good attorney to help fight this in Mississippi
Explain pocket warrants
Explain pocket warrants
I usually drive at the speed limit and treat the police with respect if I have to deal with them and that seems to work
I was pulled over on the Pennsylvania freeway while speeding by a state trooper on the way home to the relatives house. I knew he had me cuz I'm pretty sure he hit me in the eyeball with his laser. He told me the speed limit was 55 and then asked me if I knew how fast I was going. Normally I would have said I don't know but I looked him straight in the eyes and said, "74 when I looked down as soon as I saw your cruiser. I didn't realize I was speeding until I saw your cruiser because I don't have cruise control." He paused and then told me that it was the first time in 17 years that anyone had been honest with him about the speed they were traveling when asked. He told me to watch my speed and have a nice drive home.
I always say I will invoke my right to remain silent
If they ask you if you know how fast you were driving, why not just say "yes" and then be quiet. You can tell the truth without being specific about a number, and you are under no obligation to answer any further questions about the matter.
Is their a time limit to requesting police cam footage?
what if i respond 189.7...maybe 187.8
Most people are not going to remember there name or badge number
I understand the atty's point, i absolutely disagree. I am not concerned about the police' officer's attitude. First thing I would ask, is your body camera on? Has it been on for our entire interaction? If yes to both, may I have your name an badge number which might act as a deterrent to more mis-behavior. Furthermore, you might mis- remember or see his information incorrectly. A lot of times it's covered. Lastly, you want a citation report that they can print out in their car asap. This will indeed let the officer know you are going to following up. Most police office policies require them to state their information. As per their police policy, they are required to give me your information. Trust me, they will give up the information. Police respond better to people who know and exercise their rights. .
Wrong!!!! you answer .... officer I'm trying get/on my way home. And that's it! And don't. Tell them where u coming from. Just say I'm on way home
It feels like it's the same dilemma as to asking if an intruder in your house if they are there and to give yourself the possibility of avoiding an attack, vs staying quiet and ready so you can be sure to get your attack in..
"Officer, I always know how fast I'm going. Only morons don't know their speed at any given moment. You're not suggesting that I'm a moron, are you? "
