This is how I will remember Taylor Hawkins. Two giant drummers now rocking together in heaven. 💔 Rest In Peace Neil & Taylor
Can you imagine the jam session going on right now? John Bonham, Neil Peart, and Taylor Hawkins.
Bonza keeping watch over them.

I love Taylor Hawkins jumping up and down like a kid talking about Neil Peart. Such a great loss to the music world. RIP.
@Jackson bennitt Taylor gave up drugs long before this
Woulda been nice if he'd bothered to learn how to pronounce Neil Peart's last name (it's "Peert" not "Purt"), but oh well.
He looked and acted silly to me. Doesn't even know how to say Peart. Embarrassing.
@@bobabooey4537 i mean alot of people dont know how to pronounce neils last name and besides its neil peart of course he would be excited
You mean Dave Grohl's shadow
This was probably the most sincere induction speech ever. They were both true fans of the band. Every word was meaningful, and heart felt. Awesome job gentlemen.
I think the guys from Foo Fighters are more happy about this induction than Rush themselves
Even though they are huge stars, Dave and Taylor were in fan mode right there and it's amazing to see
@@juanmanueljimenez2287 exactly, well said.
@@4NoRaisin I believe you're right. Didn't they induct, 'Shaggy', the reggae imbecile who did a particularly horrible re-make of, 'Angel of the morning'?
Absolutely

i'm so happy that Neil was still alive to be inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame. he has been my biggest inspiration as a drummer. i will miss him until the day i die.
Someone ask me how good was Neil. I responded the word has not been made. He is big inspiration for me as well and makes his patters look way to easy.
He’s sorely missed. Without Peart we
wouldn’t have had Danny Carey.
Together with Phil Collins (yes, that other “very uncool” drummer) Peart was the architect of 70s symphonic rock sound. A fantastic legacy.
Same here. He IS THE REASON I drum. As a kid in the early 80s my parents loved rush. So I did too. Lol. Completely influenced my music palet and how I play. Prob why I love prog rock and metal so much
I saw this for the first time today, and was thinking that exact same thing. It really warmed up my heart.

Two drummers gushing over Neil Peart....love it.
Aka “your favorite drummers, favorite dummer”
Learning of Taylor Hawkins untimely passing, I had to come back and watch this video again. His genuine, boy-like enthusiasm as he’s jumping up and down behind Dave, is my favorite part of the entire induction. Taylor genuinely loved this band and genuinely loved music. Rest In Peace, Taylor.
Me too, Taylor tapping his imaginary watch.
You can totally tell he was a genuine fan too. I've seen more than a few interviews with him, and he's usually a little bit awkward with his choice of words. But here he was well spoken and precise, and it was because you can tell it was a subject he was intimately passionate and familiar with. He's going to be missed.
This is the best induction speech I've ever heard.
U havent heard fleas yet and it shows
I'll never forgive Taylor for mispronouncing "Peart."

That's how you fucking induct a band into the R&R Hall of Fame. Dave Grohl rocks, as if you didn't already know that. And Rush is totally cool, some of the greatest rock musicians to ever live.
Worst induction ever! Taylor is tweaked and neither of them can refrain from cussing and using uneducated language that disrespects the intelligence and integrity of Neil, Alex, and Geddy. Dave and Taylor the right guys to induct Rush into the Hall of Fame. RUSH is THE PERFECT EXAMPLE of the fluidity of MASTERING TIME SIGNATURES! I play drums and there are a few things that you need to know about Neil Peart’s ( pronounced PEER-T) character: First he writes the lyrics so he knows in advance what TYPE of song it’s meant to be ie ballad, driver, etc. Second he COMPOSES on the drums… like a carpenter who looks at a set of blueprints before building the object. Neil lays out a SKETCH in his mind of the VOICES of the drumset and builds the song from there. He is also a great LISTENER knowing when NOT to step over Geddy’s singing or Alex’s solos! Finally, he had perfect timing and fluidity of time changes. He said himself that it’s not about COUNTING the time signatures as much as fluid motion to change the tempo without counting: in other words it should FLOW! He hates repeating the same drum patterns in the same song meaning if he plays a fill one way the first time around he will play it differently the second time around. IE. Rolls down the toms the first time around and triplets or quads (all four limbs) the second time around. In short there will NEVER be another like him on planet earth 🌍 🌏 🌎! REST IN PEACE PROFESSOR!
With heart felt admiration and sincerity!

I love Rush. Dearly. I wish John Rutsey at least got a thank you. That first album is killer.
I was thinking that as well. John was a big part of Rush when they were playing schools & bars. The first album is a classic, and it opened the door for everything that came after

Damn, Dave Grohl Is Such a good Storyteller and Public Speaker
Awesome induction. I loved every second of it. Rush rules the rock world and I really miss Neil beyond belief. RIP Neil.
These were two of the most unique and influential drummers in history and Taylor being unaware of his own greatness , was one of the biggest drummer fanbois ever seen. He legitimately idolized his favorite drummers even after being one of the greatest performers behind a kit. That's so rare. Yeah, Heaven definitely has their hands full up there with these two! Dont know if this was ever mentioned but, Taylor is the only man alive that possesses a pic of him with his arm around Neil. Drummers like myself would give a hemisphere of brain matter for a photo like that.
