@@cvn6555 I was back where the action....well...there isnt much action at a Rush concert but I came out to my stage right seats and had the perfect view of Neil and Geddy all night. I loved MISSION and the opener of Force 10. Saw them again on Presto 3 nights after seeing Herbie Hancock, Dave Holland, Jack Dejonette and Pat Metheny at the TLA.
Cam Rocket, I sincerely hope you grow up. Making light of someone's passing is uncouth. To wager, if only jokingly (I hope that's what it was), on another's passing is in very poor taste. I would hope others would give you the respect that you clearly have not shown here.
@Cam Rocket If "trolling" people on the internet by betting on someone's death makes you happy there is something seriously wrong with you. I sincerely hope you're not a Rush fan
You can tell Geddy and Alex are life long good friends. There’s an “relaxed easiness” to the way they talk to each other. That’s great to see. Because so many talented bands end up enemies after all the fame is finished with them. They also loved Neil like a brother. We lost a legend when Neil passed.
John Deegan Hey sharpshooter...Got it all figured out,eh?Firstly, can't even spell "To you pray..."2 letters!"Do you pray"Australopithecus... I suggest you refine your manners when talking to young female fans.Karma can be a real bitch. But then, you believe your omnipotent, don't you?Did your jaded cynicism always contribute to your delusions of grandeur?Or is it your genetic predisposition?Mysteries only a good therapist could discern ,and you should seriously consider it before the aberration becomes full blown neuroses or worse. There is no shame in asking for help.Best of luck to you.✨🎼🙏🏼🎼✨🌚
The world is a better place for having you three in it. It’s so sad to see you go Neil. I pray you are in a better place. You guys were at the top of all the music in my life. ❤️
Being a guitar player, these guys were my heros back in the day.. their music was a very important part of my life back then.. I can't believe how fast time went by.. I wouldn't trade my experience of growing up with Rush's music for anything.. they were great musicians but also just great guys too..
Indeed. I remember years ago reading about Adam Jones from Tool. He said he was bullied as a kid because he played violin. Whose the badass guitarist now selling out arenas all over the world, in one of the most interesting and amazing rock bands on the planet? Jealousy makes people do awful things. I bet you anything those shitheads who bullied him back then are still losers now. Well done Adam.
They're not jealous. They think themselves superior and they are letting you know by hurting you. The trick is to never believe they are greater than you.
I love how Alex and Geddy never forgot their roots and where they came from. Their goofiness is so refreshing, and unlike some other people who when they become big stars forget who they once were before their stardom. Obviously they're alot older now, but they're the same 2 people who were best buddies just trying to get through life like us as teenagers.
I have just learned of Rush and I am 48 years old. Came across a clip of Neil Peart drumming a few days ago and it all we nt from there. RIP Neil, what a drummer. This is a band I will be listening to now forever more. I know they don't play anymore, but still getting new fans to there music. What an inspiration and a legacy!
The things you learn, I never knew Geddy was kicked out of the band. I know what that's like lol, sucks. Well I can kind of see Ray's point, but Oh boy was he wrong, history went the right way and Geddy ended up being a great 'sort of' front man :) And well, even though I didn't know Neil he seemed like a fascinating person and of course a amazing percussionist. Rush was such a huge soundscape to my life his passing hits me in a way that's hard to explain. I can't imagine how Geddy and Alex and the family feel. RIP professor
Alex: "Someday we'll show those bullies!!" Geddy: "Darn right we will!!" Proceed to become world-renowned guitar and bass/keyboard/vocal gods, respectively.
Saw Neal on Hwy 1 on the Cali coast about 15 years ago. He was the passenger with a lady driving a convertible. What a tremendous artist and intellectual he was. He had the drive and discipline that mastery requires.
BRENDAJASON1 its funny to hear them talk about running the gauntlet from the buses to the school . geddys comment about the bullies looking like the cast of sha na na painted a perfect picture of the hippies aka longhairs being harassed by the greasers .
@@kevinpatrick8788 Yes, the cliques of the time. I personally was not harassed by the 'Greasers,' (I had a close friend and contact who while not a 'Greaser' was a 'delinquent..') I was harassed/ snobbily some by a few 'Jocks'. But I had my "Look that could burn through steel" as a close friend termed it.
I wish I could personally tell Geddy & Alex exactly how much their music has affected my life since I 1st became a hard-core RUSH fan in 1975. When I see Neil one day in Heaven I’ll tell him “thank you”, for all you & the guys have done for me through your lyrics & awesome music! RUSH IS THE GREATEST BAND THAT EVER WAS, & WILL NEVER EVER BE SURPASSED!!! ⭐️🥁🎸🎤❤️
I saw them at the Long Beach arena in Southern California in 1978 when I was 15. Saved up all my babysitting money to get tickets. $25.00 was a big chunk of change back then for a kid. I had to lie to my mom b/c I was too young to go to a concert apparently.. Life changer!
@@humanchannel7825 being dull and brand encourages creativity in musicians look at England! The numerous bands and genres that came out of that dreary place is incredible.
Lifelong friends, average guys just chatting and reliving the early days. Their fortuitous meeting with Neil in '74 changed the course of rock music. Rush is the model for dedication, perseverance, and belief in their music and in each other. Imagine the same three guys together for more than 40 years. They shared a unique and special chemistry that is extremely rare. RIP Neil.
Like countless people i am sure, i have watched many videos with 1,2 or all three members in it. Every single one, everyone is happy, smiling, laughing, unassuming, down-to-earth, not arrogant, kind, polite.....I could go on forever. Such a fantastic group of individuals who just happen to be an absolutely pioneering musical group. I have so much respect for them. Think I will go watch some more :) You are greatly missed Neil. Your legacy both as a musician and a truly amazing human being will live on forever though. Thank you for leaving such an amazing mark on this world.
I grew up in and around that area too but I’m about a decade younger so I just missed them. Too bad I would have loved to see one of their local shows.
My father is from willowdale and we used to go up there all the time to visit. They were bang on: anything south was farmland. My parents went to a farm auction at Wilson/Yor Mills and Yonge and I swam in the pond at the jolly miller and it was still a mill back then. Geddy Lee is 8 yrs older than I am so it was even more rural when he was in high school.
Carlo, did you go to Newtonbrook around 1979 to 1982? I also grew up not too far from where they did, but like you, I'm also a decade younger. Like Geddy, I also went to Newtonbrook. Rest in peace, Professor.
@@jachba I went to Downsview S.S. from 70-73 and our schools competed in sports (I played football against Newtonbrook). They're only about 2 km apart. Geddy is 1 or 2 years older than me. Just as they had trouble remembering their first gig, my friend insists RUSH played in our cafeteria but I have no recollection of it. Were they even doing gigs in 1973? I remember Fludd, and Motherlode. and Edward Bear. I went to see Foot In Cold Water at C.W. Jefferys, (then at the Coal Bin in T.O. when I was "legal.")
@@jachba I didn't. I went to high school in the Jane/Finch area. A buddy of mine lived in Willowdale and the house league hockey teams I played on as a kid always practiced in Willowdale. There was an outdoor practice rink, I can't remember where exactly because I was pretty young, but we'd be out there at some ungodly hour like 5 or 6 am in January -20 practicing.
This is really cool I didn’t realize that these two guys grew up so close together as actual friends ! I thought maybe they just sort of spontaneously met living in the same neighborhood and decided to start a band or something, I didn’t realize they were like brothers growing up , but I guess it’s a lot like Joe Perry and Steven Tyler though ! pretty cool stuff💝
I've been a Rush fan for over 40 years. I had the great fortune of meeting Geddy, Alex, and Neil several times in the 80s and 90s. The first time I met them was in Detroit prior to their concert at Joe Louis Arena. My friend Chuck's older brother was good friends with Skip Gildersleeve who he went to high school with in Lincoln Park Michigan. Skip worked for Rush for many years and got myself and a few friends access with Chuck's brother. I was just a teenager at the time but they were all so friendly and gracious. They were every bit as nice and polite as they appear in all of their interviews. After that I was able to meet them a few more times when they came through town and even once after I moved to California while in the US Navy. I suspect that Alex and Geddy would still remember me after all these years because that's just the kind of guys they seem to be. I can't say that we became friends but we did become friendly acquaintances and they always remembered who I was. Skip passed away about ten years ago. He was also a really nice guy. I think one of the keys to why Rush became successful is that they were and remained genuinely kind thoughtful people who have always remembered where they came from and maintained their humility. RIP Neil and RIP Skip. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to meet such interesting people and a legendary band. On another note, the segment in this documentary where they are prowling the halls of the church looking for the room where they played their first gig reminds me of The scene in This is Spinal Tap where the band gets lost in the maze of hallways in the concert venue when they are trying to find the stage and wind up in the boiler room.....twice. ROCK AND ROLL!! HELLO CLEVELAND!!!......Wait? This isn't it.
Two of the most normal and down to earth guys who just happen to be the greatest musicians on the planet who have made some of the most legendary music ever
Wow, I knew they were long time friends, but I had no idea they were THAT long of friends! The fact that two young kids could not only remain friends that long, but also to create one of the greatest rock bands in history is absolutely amazing!
I remember seeing them in Dallas I was amazed how Geddy played that double neck with the bass and 6 string, Singing while playing the keyboards..Alex on his double neck and totally nailing it. Niel playing the drums, doing one hand drum rolls while all over his kit never missed a beat.. Tremendous talent this band had..Thank you gentlemen for great memories..
You see Ged put the kibosh on Lerxst finishing the story - “that was controversial.” I’m guessing they gave the snowman a snow penis. Boys will be boys.
The trio becomes a duo...they miss the matriarch, no one misses the master, Neil Peart more than his best friends. R.I.P Neil...and thank you for blessing us with your talent.
peter g Neil was the corner stone, kept everyone grounded and focused. Wrote some amazing lyrics. Neil grew up five minutes away from where I live, they just renamed the Main Street in port Dalhousie in his honour.
I think it's awesome that these two extremely talented gents grew up together. They didn't have to find each other through auditions and travel. Nope... old buddies.
These two legends helped pioneer the era of progressive rock and have been timeless wonders even as they age gracefully. These guys - along with the likes of BTO, The Guess Who, Red Rider, and Neil Young - represent the best of Canadian Rock!
I met Neil and Geddy in Daytona Florida back in 2015. I never bothered them in acknowledging that I knew who they were. It was fun for the few days that I could just be around them at the hotel. I had a temp job cleaning there with a bunch of catty witches LOL but I even had time to talk about bikes, as I ride too. Neil talked about bikes a tiny bit and Geddy sat down near the flower garden and chatted a bit. I was delighted and it was fun to just be normal with him. This put them at ease. Rest Easy Neil Top drummer ever and Hey Geddy, if you see this, I am the tall brunette Joyce. It was a pleasure to meet you both. I left and reside in Nashville for the time. God Bless and heal your hearts to RUSH, my very first real concert, "Moving Pictures" Alpine Valley late 8's maybe 1981. I would have to find me ticket stub and I am sure that I still have it.
Really? Do you miss the Toronto that was? I go back to visit family and other things but as soon as I hit Major Mack I want to turn around and go home. To be honest, I moved into a loft on Carlaw and I had more of a neighbourhood there than I do up here. Lots of wood shops like mine with more knowledgeable guys who I would go to for advice etc and local eateries and stuff BUT the traffic was horrendous. I couldn't make a living simply due to that. I lived 5 blocks from a Home Depot and it could take as long as 20 minutes to get there and then try to find a parking spot. I was at the point that if I only needed 1 sheet of plywood I would walk. Or a stack of steel 2 x 4s. One time I had to go to Dufferin and St Clair to quote on a job. It took 1 1/2 hrs to get there, I spent 4 hrs walking the place taking notes, plus parking $20.00 then 1 1/2 hrs back, I didn't get the job so that was a whole day wasted. I DID get a job renovating a house on Davenport.....it screwed up my day because there was no parking anywhere before 10 am. I got a ticket once at 9:59am. I got a job in Newmarket and had 2 guys working with me. It was costing me 4 hrs x 2 guys = 8 hrs a day just to have them sitting in the truck in traffic. The clincher for me was one reno the customer refused to pay the final bill of $27,000.00. I sued, settled out of court, so I only lost $2000 instead of $27K but that was the final nail in the coffin. I had to sell and get out.
@Rusty Climber Overpopulation IS the number one issue facing the world yet no one really wants to admit it. Our current government is taxing us to death to fight climate change while at the same time importing 400,000 more polluters every year. When I go to the big city for a visit I see more cars in the first 10 minutes than I did in the past 6 months.
@Rusty Climber That reminds me of the lagoon in Dubai.....60 minutes went over there after it was completed and it was completely sold but not one house was inhabited. They were all bought as investment properties. In Toronto, THIS is what you get for $600,000.00 (it's in a much desired location but still) www.blogto.com/real-estate-toronto/2019/09/tiny-toronto-garage/
I grew up in that area. Music and hockey were the only outlets for young guys like us. Bands like Rush, Goddo, Max Webster... they made those long Canadian winters bearable.
I know the feeling of having a childhood friend for such a long time. I’ve known my best friend since we were five years old in preschool. We have been friends for almost 47 years now. We still go to concerts together and hang out. Not many people get that opportunity.
Geddy, Alex and Neil had the last laugh at the bullies Eh!!! RUSH was and is my ABSOLUTE favourite heavy/Prog rock group END!! Talent and class rarely combined as well as this!! Greatest show in (any) town. R. I. P Neal.
Rush is my favorite Canadian band and one of my top 5 favorite bands. Another favorite, Neil Young, wrote a song about being bullied at school. Check it out. It’s called “Don’t be Denied.”
Way back in late summer of 81 I had a very good friend and she said do you really like Rush? And I said I love Rush. She came out of no where and said you will really like Triumph. I never even heard of Triumph. Now there my two favorites.
i love the fact that famous celebrities can go back to their roots of humble beginnings and reminisce with such sincerity !!!!!,,,,that is how RUSH connects with their fans !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.................r.i.p. neil peart !!!!!!!!!
The first concert I went to was Rush in 1980 the Moving Pictures tour. It was at the Met Center in Bloomington Minnesota. It was in the summer and there was a lot of people shooting off fireworks outside in the large parking lot. So the fireworks continued inside during the concert bottle rockets, fire crackers, m80's. The band was sounding great very tight! Next thing I know someone throws an m80 right at Geddys feet and it blows up louder than hell!! I figured it was the end of the concert but Geddy and the band didn't miss a beat!! I couldn't believe my eyes! These guys were Totall bad asses that night! I wonder if Geddy remembers that. Anyway I love Rush I have lots of their music and I'm glad they were my first concert, really grateful to see them.
I was there and remember that as well. I recall for Signals they went to Duluth. It wasn’t until after Grace Under Pressure that they returned to Minneapolis.
I cried at a Rush concert. The band was late for their concert at the Hollywood Sportatorium in Florida, 1981. The crowd was getting rowdy and bottles and rocks started flying. The cops came and boom, tear gas bombs were fired. Later the gates were opened and inside the auditorium, there was a thin cloud of tear gas. Geddy apologized for being tardy and the show went on. There was not a dry eye in the place.
Fortunate enough to see Rush three times and unbelievably lucky the first time I saw them they opened up with the first side of 2112 in 1979 no one will ever replace Neal's drumming been a huge fan for over 40 years no one will ever hold a candle to your All's music sorry for your loss Getty and Alex I couldn't even imagine what you're feeling right now love you guys always
Outcasts sometimes find a way, a way that turns everyone's attention toward them in wonder, not disdain. RUSH is an amazing band, probably wont see anything like them again.
🤓Simpler times 😊DONT worry guys you weren’t the only “nerds” 😜 So sorry about Neil ! 🥺Great writer and player ! Your music is full of stories, and I’m a story kind of gal ! Gods got one hell of a band !
A window into the greatest and illusive prog rock band ever. I love these guys like brothers. Their music made me pick up a guitar, and will live in my heart, voice and hands for ever...💪🎸👂💣
I'm a Toronto boy and I know the neighbourhood they were talking about .. I used to hang out at my friends house on Patricia Ave from time to time, and that's where the Fisherville school is. It's so cool to go back to where it all began. Also, I'm so sad with the loss of Neil, still can't believe it . These guys are my music heroes, musically RUSH was the biggest part of my pre teen years
I'm the same age as these guys and grew up in Montreal Canada. I've lived in the U.S. for 40 years but still have to go home every now and then to see the old neighborhood...just not since they closed the border.
Alex & Geddy - Holy Cow! You guys perfectly described what I remember a a kid ordering fries with gravy in the 1980s. The first "restaurant meal" I could afford as a kid...lol. I still remember it was a double order of steak fries with gravy for $1.50 and a Coke...hahaha!!! 6:58
A stroll down memory lane for them. You can see that they were clearly excited and were really enjoying it. As someone who has "gone back home" myself, I know the feeling.
Two nice, regular guys that became rock legends but never turned into dicks. This band has never disappointed me on any level. Hope these guys go out on tour together.

Two men who share a lifelong friendship and have achieved making their lifelong dream come true and touched millions and millions of people.
I'm grateful that I was able to appreciate this thing that they did. And even met Alex in Philadelphia during the Hold Your Fire tour when I was 14.
Rest in Peace Neil.
Just 2 nerds left.
Two loveable, talented, amazing nerds.
Awesome.
You said it. Not a big Rush fan, before my time, but this really is beautiful to see. I'm so sorry about Sir. Peart. He was something special.
I was at that concert in Philly. Magical. Had floor seats at the Spectrum. I was 16.
And then there were 2..RIP Neil Peart
Cam Rocket fuck you buddy
@Cam Rocket I got 100 on you ...
@Cam Rocket You're disgusting.
"where else can we go that we didn't play?" line of the day.
Definitely a funny line.
Lol you can tell Geddy has that dry sarcastic wit :) I loved the skits on the time machine dvd
It was so very Spinal Tap.
“What the hell happened to our childhood?”
None more unplayed!
You can tell Geddy and Alex are life long good friends. There’s an “relaxed easiness” to the way they talk to each other. That’s great to see. Because so many talented bands end up enemies after all the fame is finished with them. They also loved Neil like a brother.
We lost a legend when Neil passed.
“…even though he’s the New Guy.”
i feel the sense of possibilities
i feel the wrench of hard realities...RIP Neil you BMF!!!
Camera Eye.
Saw them in 1981. I'm 68 still one of the best sounding bands i have heard.
Yep, '81. Moving Pictures. Awesome tour.
Probably the best guitarist and bassist ever. God rest Neil Peart who was probably the best drummer who ever lived. I'm a huge fan.
Geddy sang, played bass like that, and played keyboard. Alex is scary good at guitar. Neil was indeed the best drummer. RIP.
I concur and me too
The best Guitarist? Also basses and drummer happened to be friends? Uh huh. They were a good band. Calm down
@ She's actually talking about music, unlike you. Get a life turd boy.
John Deegan Hey sharpshooter...Got it all figured out,eh?Firstly, can't even spell "To you pray..."2 letters!"Do you pray"Australopithecus...

you.✨🎼🙏🏼🎼✨🌚
The world is a better place for having you three in it.
I surprisingly learned that a lot of bullies are the most jealous humans of all.
That's what mama told me. It's the one thing we have to be aware of.
THANK U FOR THE AWESOME MEMORIES GUYS....I LOVE U CANADA FOR GIVING US YOUR BEST ....RIP NIEL...
I love the Ray Daniels story and his obvious embarrassment and denial about it. Hilarious!
They are the most humble, down-to-earth rock stars ever
I love how Alex and Geddy never forgot their roots and where they came from. Their goofiness is so refreshing, and unlike some other people who when they become big stars forget who they once were before their stardom. Obviously they're alot older now, but they're the same 2 people who were best buddies just trying to get through life like us as teenagers.
I love just listening to the comedic banter from them. Just so honest. So funny. So friggin humble and CANADIAN. 🇨🇦
I miss the third Musketeer...
Their music played such a big part of my life growing up in the 70's - 80's.
I salute you. Thank you very much.
You're 48 and just learned of Rush?
@@jwil4905 Not impossible. Quite common especially here in Asia.
They're like a sweet old married couple, reminiscing about the old days.
The things you learn, I never knew Geddy was kicked out of the band. I know what that's like lol, sucks. Well I can kind of see Ray's point, but Oh boy was he wrong, history went the right way and Geddy ended up being a great 'sort of' front man :)
And well, even though I didn't know Neil he seemed like a fascinating person and of course a amazing percussionist. Rush was such a huge soundscape to my life his passing hits me in a way that's hard to explain. I can't imagine how Geddy and Alex and the family feel.
RIP professor
All Geddy even needed was a stylist, and some shades.
Alex: "Someday we'll show those bullies!!"
Geddy: "Darn right we will!!"
Proceed to become world-renowned guitar and bass/keyboard/vocal gods, respectively.
Can hear the bullies now, bragging that they used to know them as kids.
Just imagine you're at a red light and a vehicle pulls up along side you and you turn your head and see these two lol
I was driving down the highway not too far from there years ago and I looked over saw Mike Levine from Triumph in the car opposite me.
I actually had that happen to me in suburb of Chicago only it was Walter Payton
Saw Neal on Hwy 1 on the Cali coast about 15 years ago. He was the passenger with a lady driving a convertible. What a tremendous artist and intellectual he was.
He had the drive and discipline that mastery requires.
I would lose it
That...would be a rush.
Man it sucks not having neil here but the friendship between geddy and alex is really showcased here and i find it comforting and reassuring ❤
Two quality humans 👍✌️
Cam Rocket I’m straight buddy. So If that’s your inquiry or question, look elsewhere.
They were bullied and they lived thru it spoke about it thru their music. Helped a lot of kids thru some dark times
BRENDAJASON1 “in the high school halls, in the shopping malls conform or be cast out”
Chris McCallum III exactly
BRENDAJASON1 its funny to hear them talk about running the gauntlet from the buses to the school . geddys comment about the bullies looking like the cast of sha na na painted a perfect picture of the hippies aka longhairs being harassed by the greasers .
@@kevinpatrick8788 Yes, the cliques of the time. I personally was not harassed by the 'Greasers,' (I had a close friend and contact who while not a 'Greaser' was a 'delinquent..') I was harassed/ snobbily some by a few 'Jocks'. But I had my "Look that could burn through steel" as a close friend termed it.
kevin nolan exactly now it’s like they can live and laugh to tell about it
Pure Class . I feel like I’ve lost a great friend , that I never really met, so nice to these these guys happy
I saw Rush for the first time in a Yakima Valley Collage gymnasium on 3/26/76. I was barely 15. It's like I dreamt it. I had to look up the date.
Great to see you two stayed such good friends through the years!
Crazy to think a band which came out of a dull Toronto suburb would go on to make such complex and enchanting music.
Exactly why
@@channi58 because they are the exact opposite
@@humanchannel7825 being dull and brand encourages creativity in musicians look at England! The numerous bands and genres that came out of that dreary place is incredible.
My first concert. Jan 1979, 14 years old. Blew my mind. Played guitar ever since. Neil, Geddy and Alex. The way bandmates should treat each other.
Think I will go watch some more :)
You are greatly missed Neil. Your legacy both as a musician and a truly amazing human being will live on forever though. Thank you for leaving such an amazing mark on this world.
Interestingly, I met Bowser from Shanana on a cruise ship a year or two ago and he remembered when Rush opened for them years ago.
Mike Cronis there was a story on another Rush vid where a Shanana fan found a Rush cassette in a junk yard car radio and became a fan
Cool!!!!
Rush fan 42 yrs. What a band. What fabulous down to earth guys. Love em forever ❤️ Eternal Rush fan. RIP Neil. ✌️💖
Them walking around lost at the church reminds me of the backstage bit in "This is Spinal Tap"
The way I could watch 1:25-1:40 over and over again…love watching them crack up about that snowman, and Geddy’s laugh is pure sunshine. ♥️♥️♥️
Neil grew up five minutes away from where I live, they just renamed the Main Street in port Dalhousie in his honour.
peter g what ever
It's like a scene out of Spinal Tap where they couldn't find their way in the church.
I was thinking that too 😂 spinal tap...I'll have to watch that again it's been years👌
Hello Cleveland!
RickMumph I was thinking the same thing, and was sure Alex was gonna make that joke! lol
These two have so much class, on a scale of 1 to 10, they go to 11.
NONE MORE AWESOME
I think it's awesome that these two extremely talented gents grew up together. They didn't have to find each other through auditions and travel. Nope... old buddies.
These two legends helped pioneer the era of progressive rock and have been timeless wonders even as they age gracefully. These guys - along with the likes of BTO, The Guess Who, Red Rider, and Neil Young - represent the best of Canadian Rock!
*Triumph*
Apart of their musical genius and financial success, their friendship.....is what I envy the most. I've never had that kind of friend.
Lovely story!
5:00 I thought he was about to say something like "No way, I forgot that we sampled these chimes for By-tor and The Snowdog" XD
These 2 really seem to like each other. Nice to see.
This made me miss Toronto so bad.
R.I.P Neil
"... so bad."
In Toronto, THIS is what you get for $600,000.00 (it's in a much desired location but still)
www.blogto.com/real-estate-toronto/2019/09/tiny-toronto-garage/
I miss it, too. Not all parts, but the “Toronto the good” that was. NYC has its charms but isn’t the NYC I moved to years ago
The most humble band on earth, wow
Way back in late summer of 81 I had a very good friend and she said do you really like Rush? And I said I love Rush. She came out of no where and said you will really like Triumph. I never even heard of Triumph. Now there my two favorites.
Triumph is a really underrated band
i love the fact that famous celebrities can go back to their roots of humble beginnings and reminisce with such sincerity !!!!!,,,,that is how RUSH connects with their fans !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.................r.i.p. neil peart !!!!!!!!!
Todd H cool story bro,I’m sure they remember it👍🏻
I'm glad there was no fire. Ah, being a teen at the time.
I was there and remember that as well. I recall for Signals they went to Duluth. It wasn’t until after Grace Under Pressure that they returned to Minneapolis.
When Cedar was a dirt road. 👍
So awesome to hear about their childhood memories and the way they grew up they were normal just like us I love these guys
Fortunate enough to see Rush three times and unbelievably lucky the first time I saw them they opened up with the first side of 2112 in 1979 no one will ever replace Neal's drumming been a huge fan for over 40 years no one will ever hold a candle to your All's music sorry
for your loss Getty and Alex I couldn't even imagine what you're feeling right now love you guys always
So softly spoken, so humble. I could listen to them talk for hours.
So when you see those two gangly junior high kids going by on their bikes remember - in another decade or two they might be legends.....!!!
Rather than bully them, ask for their autographs!!
Outcasts sometimes find a way, a way that turns everyone's attention toward them in wonder, not disdain. RUSH is an amazing band, probably wont see anything like them again.
Such sweet guys. Rush my favorite group. Love them
Alex Geddy and Neil best three piece rock band of all time.
Well, the police were co-kings of the trio of 80s.
Could watch these two all day.. funny..smart. whismical .. friends like that are rare.
🤓Simpler times 😊DONT worry guys you weren’t the only “nerds” 😜 So sorry about Neil ! 🥺Great writer and player ! Your music is full of stories, and I’m a story kind of gal ! Gods got one hell of a band !
These guys are so down to earth. Really inspiring. And what great friends. Neil will be missed. :-(
I cannot express in words how much I love these guys.
i have so much admiration for these guys as musicians which goes without saying, but they're such a class act as people too.
Have to be honest, NOT a fan of Rush, but readily admit they are masters of their instruments and come across as genuinely nice guys.
Awesome stuff from the best band ever
Two of my musical heroes ... comedy duo too
RIP Professor
Funny to think if they outed the names of the guys who bullied them, those dudes would prob never have a job or a day of peace again lol
They wouldn't be hard to spot. Geddy said they looked like Sha-na-na. ; - )
They're all old and retired by now nobody would do or say anything
A window into the greatest and illusive prog rock band ever. I love these guys like brothers. Their music made me pick up a guitar, and will live in my heart, voice and hands for ever...💪🎸👂💣
Greatest band of all time!
I just love the fact that even at their ages, they still have a boy-ish charm to them. They're cool dude's.
Does anyone know when this was shot?
DVD came out around 2012 I would go look at it but somebody borrowed it from me and I haven't seen it in a couple of years lol
Watching them chatting and joking with such ease, they're still the same, goofy 15 year old boys.
Everyone who loves RUSH is always looking for new RUSH videos.
Geddy Lee is the best kind of guy: super cool but kind.
I used to steal the colored floodlight bulbs around our town in Michigan at night too! :)
Two nice, regular guys that became rock legends but never turned into dicks. This band has never disappointed me on any level. Hope these guys go out on tour together.
Ive been a Rush fan since the mid 80s !!! My brother got Rush Archives from Columbia House and it contained the first 3 albums ......Ive bought every one of their albums since then , some multiple times ( cassettes, records , CDs. )
0:50 Pretty cool that the school is still there, as well as the "gauntlet" XD
3:42 Great editing lol
I grew up in that area and saw Rush the first time in 1981. Best days of my life.
They still have each other. RIP Neil.
Oh yeah, totally love these guys. They helped me to be alive, when I was a kid.
"In these days I wasn't a suitable frontman"
And history was made.
I had the pleasure to see RUSH twice in my like…. Very memorable experience.. I’ll never forget👍👍👍
These guys are hilarious. I could watch this all day. Cheers.
Genius and Timeless Rush
