@@SpiralSine6at least he got points for originality, his sigil was much more imaginative than Bloodraven's, it blended well the two sigils of his parents houses.
And second part of their rivalry was who gets sicker nickname, and i must say that Bittersteel is way superior nickname. Bloodraven is cool, but Bittersteel should be Aegors given name just because how much it fits him. Perfect.
It's not ironic. They had dragons and magic, so the only ones who could fight them were themselves. After they lost the dragons, they already had decades of alliances, so it's difficult to break up. But in the first real challenge, which was Robert's rebellion, they saw how much without a dragon they are.
My headcanon is that Daemon Blackfyre is actually the brother whom Bloodraven had loved. However, Daeron Targaryen confided in his brother about Aegon's Dream. Due to Brynden's obsession with prophecy, he felt compelled to support Daeron's claim. In the end, a Targaryen had to sit on the throne, not a Blackfyre. Brynden's actions were driven by his sense of duty.
@@ucnguyenanh9414 he was at court most of his life. Their mothers were friends and Daeron was a adult by the time Bloodraven was born. Aegon IV didn’t raise him Daeron did. Which is why he was so fiercely loyal to Daeron and his children.
BloodRaven probably didn't need convincing of the White Walker menace, since he is a greenseer and Targaryen dreamer himself, he's probably dreamt a lot of the future and prophecy.
I believe that Bloodraven killed Aenys in order to elevate Aegon’s claim. Considering how the other claimants were either children whose regency could be claimed by a rebel lord or Aenys who would supplant the trueborn bloodline, I think he threw his support behind Aegon and killed Aenys as an act of intimidating others to vote for him and to perhaps ingratiate himself with Aegon. Not to mention he does have some warm feelings for his great nephew since they met at Whitewalls and was impressed by his boldness.
@@thatoneblackdude3333I don’t know what exactly you’re trying to say but given Bloodraven’s fierce pragmatism, he likely wanted an adult on the throne who had both martial and leadership experience therefore choosing Aegon made more sense than Maegor or Vaella, though the laws would’ve favored either of the two kids
Bittersteel is a Chad, and his personal coat of arms is incredibly badass. This man SINGLEHANDEDLY kept the Blackfyre cause alive and united with the golden company. I would have loved to have seen a house bittersteel, but it’s not to be.

I would probably have put him on the Small Council, likely as Master of War or even potentially Hand of the King given how utterly useless Butterwell was. And I'd then betrothe one of his daughters to Baelor Breakspear, likely quashing the potential of a rival claim by directly uniting the two branches by marriage. Also because no Targaryen ever met a problem that couldn't be solved by somehow even more incest.
This was yet another amazing Fantasy Haven Video. Thank you Lord Haven, the Blackfyres are an incredibly interesting house/rebellions which I hope Martin expands upon someday especially 1 and 3. Also glad you are talking about the Freys again. Slightly odd they never rebelled in Maekar’s reign. And that ending was great! Super excited for Young Griff/Faegon video, bet Quinn is too.
Plot twist: the actual Blackfyres and Targaryens always wanted to make peace, but they were manipulated by Bittersteel and Bloodraven who refused to let go of their rivalry.

Assuming Stannis is not a fool, slowly marching to oblivion in the snow, I'd love to see a video about how he intends to use all the pieces at his disposal - the Greyjoy hostages and the Northern conspiracy, coupled with the icy lake and the watchtower
As a fun thought exercise I like to imagine Aegon IV as a decent man who grew up in the shadows of his more accomplished cousins. Daeron and Aemon were the fighters, Baelon was the religious one, the girls where all smarter than he could hope to be so Aegon went the fun one route. Not really caring about much of anything and just wanting to drink and whore and show people a good time but would also do his duty when called upon. Then his family all started dying around him which put him in a depression and he ate and drink to numb the pain. I think Aegon knew his wife loved her brother Aemon and would sleep with him and even that his two kids where really Aemons. When he was never going to be king that was fine live and let live so to speak but once Aegon became king he wanted a real son of his to take the throne but couldn’t just flat out say it without hurting his family even more so he gave hints and pushed people in that direction but nothing ever changed so on his death bed he did what he thought was right and legitimized his bastards. I also think Daemon didn’t know at first but later found out (possibly around the time Daeron finally turned on him). After that Daemon thought it was his duty to take the throne that was his by rights and not this pretender who wasn’t even his real half brother and was marrying his family to the enemy. But there is no evidence really for any of that but if people can think Maegor wasn’t really cruel then I can give some love to Aegon IV too lol
The truth is it actually disappoints me that Bloodraven was sent to the wall as punishment. I had thought he actually saw it as a mission worth taking.

I’m 100% sure the “actions” that crazy Aerion took was slaining his cousin Haegon, and I’m sure everyone there were like what the hell is wrong with this guy…
People always bring up that the tourney of Harrenhall impacted the events of Robert's Rebellion, but I think the war of the nine penny kings were really the seeds of the Rebellion.
Yes! All those Lords Paramount getting together making friends and realizing how _weak_ the House of the Dragon really was and how badly they needed _them_ Surely at that point Jon Arryn and Rickkard Stark must've thought: _"we could totally take these fuckers"_
@@Pap602 That would be excellent! Plus we get to see a mostly united Westeros under post dragon Targs. I know we love the dance and all. But I feel like the Targs without dragons had to be more resourceful and thusly more interesting. Besides my boy Daemon. If any Targ needed to be king or at least Regent. It was him.
Imagine being so mad you don’t get with your sister that you start a civil war over it. How can someone as based as Daemon “The Man Who Bore The Sword” Blackfyre be related to someone as cringe as Bitterfeels?
In an ideal world, House Blackfyre would've gone on to be similar to House Baratheon: a Cadet Branch House of the Targaryens, often strong allies to the crown. But alas... it was not meant to be. 😮💨 Instead, just like the Dance of the Dragons, the members of this Valyrian Dragonlord House decided to spill one another's dragon blood upon the fields of Westeros. Maybe a hidden Blackfyre could find Dany in Essos. It's been an idea of mine, a cool little fan-fic if a theory I must admit but... a Blackfyre, a son of one of the various Blackfyres we hear of who died over the generations of their line, survives hidden somewhere (I'm not counting FAegon since he's technically a son of the female line so, he doesn't really count) and, after swearing an oath of fealty to Dany, is trusted enough to ride, I dunno, Rhaegal perhaps. Aegon had 3 Dragons during his Conquest, but they each had their own riders. Dany's Dragons may be smart enough to split up and follow the Dothraki or Unsullied to protect them and attack whoever they attack, but that's a stretch, cause they may decide they wanna visit their mom and fly off to find Drogon in the skies somewhere. So, how do we fix this? She legitimizes Aurane Waters to Aurane Velaryon, so he fights for her cause and in the name of his Nephew, the young Lord of the Tides. And mayhaps he or the young lad gets Viserion as a mount. Then Rhaegal goes to our mystery Blackfyre candidate. Mind you, it also fixes Dany's succession crisis. Since Blackfyre's are of the same bloodline but a different name, if Dany marries said Blackfyre then she can just name her kids with him Targaryens, and thus their lines are united and the male Targaryen line continues.
I don't think it's been stated definitively if Derrick Fossoway "The Bad Apple" was from the red apple or green apple Fossoway families. It's totally possible he's a sour, green apple but I like to think he's a rotten, red apple cast from the mold of Steffon Fossoway from the Hedge Knight book
Imagine a "house of the black dragon" spin off Starting with Aegon iv (played by stephen fry)as a good guy not in love with his sister who cheaten on him Daemon best buddies with both Aegor and Brynden
So many people get pissed off at Daeron II for marrying Mariah Martell, when he had no hand in that decision himself, nor his father Aegon IV and not even his grandfather Viserys II. Baelor the Blessed had arranged Daeron's betrothal to Mariah after Daeron I lost his army and his own life of 18 years fighting to bring Dorne into the realm. The Knights and warmongers of Westeros are just pissed that it was not war that brought Dorne into the realm but the wisdom and peace of King Daeron II.
I do find it funny how so much lore from this world was just left untapped from tv. with the show only covering one of the many interesting conflicts in this world, and cocking it up really terribly. thanks for giving a much better and more digestible way to learn the asoiaf world.
6:09 I don't buy this rumor at all sense the rebellion didn't start till many years after she was married off this is why I want fire and blood 2 so we can learn the real reason

Not exactly it’s a mix bag but all that incest definitely didn’t help
incest doesnt have any side effect that is not stated once in the book@@thegoat4238
@@thegoat4238 the incest has nothing to do with it

Love all your videos but why is Brynden Rivers avatar already missing an eye before the Blackfyre rebellion?
I love your videos man, I'm really hoping you do a video on Stannis' march on Winterfell, seeing you cover the current northern politics surrounding the Boltons and the Freys with the looming threat of the Mannis would just make my week ♥
Thanks! Yeah, I'll definitely cover that in the future. I've kinda explored northern stuff with my House Frey / Red Wedding videos (as well as the Red Wedding 2 video on Quinn's channel)
I legit just got excited at 9 at night because I s saw a new fantasy haven video. Dude you got something here for sure at least with got/asoiaf fans.
The truth is it actually disappoints me that Bloodraven was sent to the wall as punishment. I had thought he actually saw it as a mission worth taking.

Great video. I knew most of the information but you do a great job distilling and presenting the important details. I look forward to your next installment. You gained a sub
The flames of rebellion will never be extinguished.
😂That stabbing sound effect, LMFAO. I wish I could generate that sound effect whenever I come across people that I hate.😂

I’m 100% sure the “actions” that crazy Aerion took was slaining his cousin Haegon, and I’m sure everyone there were like what the hell is wrong with this guy…

Beneath the gold, the bitter feels.
Baratheon, Blackfyre, Targaryen…what a cool dynasty
Blood Raven recovers his eye at random.
People always bring up that the tourney of Harrenhall impacted the events of Robert's Rebellion, but I think the war of the nine penny kings were really the seeds of the Rebellion.
Yes! All those Lords Paramount getting together making friends and realizing how _weak_ the House of the Dragon really was and how badly they needed _them_
Surely at that point Jon Arryn and Rickkard Stark must've thought:

@@e.m.p.3394 I would love a little book of The Battle of the Ninepenny Kings. Spread more lore of how they each Paramore became close.
It was him.
One of your best videos yet!
Gormon Peake sounds like an southern congressman
Been looking forward to this for so long
You always do it with a bit of comedy which I LOVE 😊😅👍
So glad to get this
the Dunk & Egg show cannot come fast enough tbh
Imagine being so mad you don’t get with your sister that you start a civil war over it. How can someone as based as Daemon “The Man Who Bore The Sword” Blackfyre be related to someone as cringe as Bitterfeels?
😢
Not marring a sister could have been a reason for both of them.😂
Beneath the gold, the bitter steel.
Wooooo🗡
What if plot twist Blackfyre wasn’t Aegon IV’s bastard but Baelor The Blessed’s but Daena lied so Fat Egg wouldn’t kill him as a threat to the Throne

Blackfyre rebellion or the BEEF between Bittersteal and Bloodraven for his half-sister
_All the skulls were grinning, even Bittersteel's on the tall pike in the center. What does he have to grin about?_

what was that epic background music at ,1st blackfyre section ,i need to know
Daemon III Blackfyre had a personal coat of arms, a black three headed dragon on a yellow gold background.
Damn I never knew that the blackfyres are basically the blood of Daemon the Rogue Prince
Make a video about the Golden Company and other mercenary companies from Essos.
Imagine a "house of the black dragon" spin off

All Hail king with the sword and abs
Incredible video
I think the war of the ninepenny kings was the only event in Westerosi history where all Great houses fought together
