    @NeoTranshuman You are partially correct the pegs do make it easier to break, though it doesnt make it easy. Don't judge them from this advertisement and say they are weak, these moves are for show not practicality. I'm sure they could kick some ass if they needed to.

  • @bentinho
    @bentinho 12 років тому

    @jetyan that's true, there are at least two if I remember right. you don't just graduate with a high rank in TKD though usually the graduates are pursuing degrees in physical education or some type of exercise science or physiology.

    I watched a video in youtube that a specialised university school in korea actually teach tae kwon do practioners to become professor level and instructor level. No joke!

    Exactly, if somebody wanted to learn a martial art to just hurt people they just should not try because martial arts is a form of defense and should not used as offence except in a situation where it cannot be avoided. I use aikido.

    The last boards were marble and not wood. The point of the wood board breaking is not to show power but to demonstrate accuracy, speed and technique. If you do not hit all the way through the board will not break. The same goes if you do not hit it in the center. This becomes even more important when the boards are only held with one hand.

    @TrueBritishPatriots Yeah, that's why I added 'randomly.' I love using shouts for intimidation.

  • @ezento98
    @ezento98 11 років тому

    I love grappling. They are very effective if you're fighting someone one on one. The thing I hate about striking is, you have to be blessed to have the strength and power to do a Mike Tyson type knockout which is something not everybody has. Plus, you can break a bone while grappling teaches you to break bones. Nothing is effective if you're fighting against more than one opponent. When it comes to that situation, running away or having a gun are the solutions

    it wuz cool when that strongest board breaker wuz breaking alot of board just in a punch
    and itz funny when the demo memebers that hold the board...they got scared of him
    of course i would get scared too xD
    nice vid

    Why should i? There are plenty good ITF schools in my area. Mr. Rhee Ki Ha teaches in the dojang few blocks away.
    Simple but it gets the correct message across.
    This is martial arts, not some circus/hip hop wannabe.
    When Gen Choi establish Taekwon-do in South Korea and wrote the words in his calligraphy, he stated, this is what taekwon-do should be, strong, beautiful and meaningful.

    2:56 that old guy just broke through 15 slabs of marble!!

  • @Ippikiryu
    @Ippikiryu 12 років тому

    @NeoTranshuman The only thing the board is there for is to show that it's hitting. Also, no, a generation ago, the test for a black belt was breaking several real stone slabs with a punch/knife hand chop. And they're the real deal. (I don't think they had fancy pegs in 1960 or whenever.)
    Also the 'screaming before striking' is respect, and only applies in demos. You're telling the holder that you're about to kick. In actual fighting, we don't scream randomly either, buddy.

    OK,I give credit where credit is due.
    1. Nice kicks
    2. Nice flexibility
    3. Good coordoination
    4. Why are those boards are paper thin??? Of course they will break every time, are WTF practitionners that insecure that they have to use paper thin boards?
