As far as I know, taekwondo could be practiced in many different ways. Choose your club wisely.
You can practice sportiv form, wich emphasis on combat and making quick kicks, balance, stamina, stance... for scoring.
You can practice traditional way, which emphasis on poomse, philosophy, lifestyle, attitude...
You can practice for representation where you have to be flexible, quick, perfect execution...
And there is probably lots of other way to practice, and you probably mix them. I've seen clubs where they focus on combat, others where it's like a gym-taekwondo club. There's no such thing as "a pure practice". But there's fantasy around what martial arts are.

The swiftness of Kung-fu, the endurable body of Karate, the power and speed of Taekwondo, those three will make you as a human weapon. You won't give a chance to enemy even if it's 1vs2

@@mainakdas4272 You know Choi Hong Hi isn't the only founder of tkd right? What I said was based on the interviews of the founders of tkd Lee Jun Gu, Lee Jong Woo, and the book written by Lee Chang Hoo. Chinese Kungfu wasn't mentioned throughout, and to the interviewer asking if the basic skills of tkd were based on Taekkyeon they made it clear all kicks they have taught in the beginning were 'Karate kicks'. There might have some founders who practiced Kungfu, but that doesn't make tkd the 'direct derivative of Kungfu' just like we don't call it a direct derivative of Taekkyeon. The fact tkd is a direct derivative of Karate is stated in WTF and ITF associations' official comments.

I am unfamiliar with Karate and kung fu, but as someone who has practiced Tae Kwon-Do for a decade, I have some corrections for you. First, the style you are referring to is a competitive style, which was created in 1971 while COMPLETELY ignoring the traditional style fully recognized in 1955 when the South Korean army started using it back in 1946. Second, Tae Kwon-Do is inspired by Karate (along with other Korean martial arts over a thousand years old). Third, the title of the teacher changes depending on their rank. The one you mentioned in the video is the title of a 4th-6th Dan (black belt degree). Other than that, organizations recognize whatever degree you are worldwide (assuming that you are staying in the same style). As for the "schools" or organizations, the traditional style is called the International Tae Kwon-Do Federation (ITF for short), and the competitive/Olympic style is called the World Tae Kwon-Do Federation. Enjoy the learning.

I've seen that Kung fu is more professional and effective than the others bcoz they trained as military and more useful for fighting, but the important things in kung fu is self dicipline, so this is Martial art most advanced in the world. We also love to taekwando and karate for the self defense.
Here we know the weakness of kungfu 1. bored when if not hard to train 2. Student 3.Long range fighting 4. Tired 5. flexible body 6.pain 7. Dangerous train 8. Remembering all that skills.
All self-defence is better as kung fu, taekwando and karate. All is good martial arts.👍👍👍👍👍

    Let me help you:
Kara-te Jitsu (Tou-Di Jutsu) was formed in Okinawa and was also heavily Chinese influenced. It's over 900 years old. The father of modern Kara-te is Ankoh Itousu. Gichin Funakoshi was a junior student of his when he was sent to Japan around 1924. The Japanese urged him to alter what he did to fit into their xenophobic culture, essentially eliminating many of the original techniques and even changing the names of the Katas, as there were still longstanding hostilities between Japan and China. Go Ju Ryu (Naha-Te), Shorin Ryu (Shuri-te), and Matsumura Orthodox (Tomari-Te) are their main 3 systems. The original names were the names of the capitol cities of the 3 kingdoms of Okinawa before they were unified by King Sho Hashi. The movements are more circular and flowing as compared to their Japanese descendants: Shotokan, Shoinkan, Kyukoshin, etc, their movements have lower stances, and are much more linear and rigid, but still effective.

I would say taekwondo 3rd because most of the techniques are focused only on kicks, while karate focuses on both hand techniques and kicks

1955 South Korean General Choi Hong Hi gave the name TAEKWON-DO! Why the film does not mention his name at all. ITF was established in 1966. WT was established in 1973 ! I was born in Saigon Vietnam, i started my TaeKwon-Do training in 1968 . Colonel Nam Tae Hi and the TaeKwon-Do demonstration team was invited by South Vietnam President. Colonel Nam and the Legendary Founder of the Original TaeKwon-Do , Gen. Choi introduced the art to South Vietnam in 1953!

Karate means "Chinese hand", not "empty hand". "Kara" means Chinese that come from Tong Dynasty. Tong Dynasty gave huge effect in many fields of administration systems including taxation and culture to Japan around the 8-9 centries. After the collapse of the Dynasty, Japanese people continued to call many subsequent chinese dynasties "Tong" which sound is "Kara" in Japanese pronunciation. Why so many people believe Kara means "empty"? The reason why Master Funakoshi choosed a chiese character ”emptiness” in Buddhism that has many important meanings and the Japanese pronunciation is same "Kara". You need the knowledge of chiese character background to understand what I write. Again, I stress if you think Karate means "empty hand", it is quite superficial understanding or believe wrong information.

Each technique has it's strengths and weaknesses. It is all a matter of personal preference. In a nutshell the main differences between these 3 techniques.
Kung fu is fluid like fast or slow flowing water depending the technique hard or soft. Tiger, Eagle's Claw are Hard style hard style examples. Tai Chi Ch'uan and Wing shun are soft.
While Karate are more rigid and robotic.
And Tae Kwon Do is somewhere between the two with more emphasis on foot and aerial work.

Not wushu is a subbranch of kung fu. Wushu means martial art. Kung Fu means skill, craft.
So both can be used interchangeably.
