    Absolutely love the frugal videos that circulate at this time of year...I love them year round! Meal planning and eating at home both save us so much money per month also! We don't live near enough to anywhere for food delivery and I love that! Give me my quiet village in the woods any day.😊It's also at least 25 minutes to anywhere that would sell to go food...and that's almost an hour we don't want to waste when we could cook something delicious at home.
    Happy Friday!

    I do most of the frugal things you mentioned, but I do go to the doctor regularly. I have hyperthyroidism, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. 18 years ago I had stage 3 breast cancer.

      Congratulations on being a breast cancer survivor! I has breast cancer in 2012 and also thriving with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. There is so much we can see or feel in the way of our physical bodies. Wellness checks are really important. I use home remedies for minor things as well, and to try and keep myself healthy.

      I will be 61 years old this year. I hadn't been to the doctor or had a mammogram for 3 years when I found the lump. Tumor was 2.2 cm. 18 of 22 lymph nodes were positive.

      @@jannier9766 I had the lymph nodes involved when I had breast cancer 18 years ago now, I feel very blessed that I have not had a reoccurance. Back then I had a mastectomy, chemo, radiation, and my other breast removed and reconstruction in 2005. .

    I am good with the way you save money, but not going to the doctor I would have to disagree. I don't go to the doctor all the time, but I believe in having a yearly physical. I have always taken my daughter for her yearly physical. I pray and have so much faith in God, but there's nothing wrong with seeing a doctor. I know that if an individual doesn't have health insurance it can be costly. I am sure you're doing what's best for your family.

    • @DaveeKilian
      @DaveeKilian  3 роки тому +1

      Yes everyone is able to make their own choices on healthcare. Even with health insurance a copay costs money. I do not disagree with you on going to see a doctor. We have just chosen not to for certain check ups.

    I love this. I also want to be knowledgeable in being able to give my family home-remedies when they get ill instead of using the "medicines" that are on the shelves these days. I've cancelled a coule of subscriptions over the last month to become more frugal also.

    I don't do manicures, pedicures, salon/spa facials, or massages (never have). We don't follow current trends and certainly don't feel left out or deprived because we don't have "whatever" or that we are "out-dated" (at the moment, because trends constantly change and there is nothing new, styles come back around). We don't go to movies. I watch sales and stock up extra when a staple is on sale. I rarely use coupons because they are usually for name brand things that I don't use or generic is cheaper. We don't have pets because vet bills and pet food cost a lot. We don't buy newspapers or magazines. I use to buy just the Christmas issues of a certain magazine, but stopped that about 10 yrs ago. I don't buy phone apps.

    • @DaveeKilian
      @DaveeKilian  3 роки тому +1

      Those are some great things to add! Many of those areas we don't do either. I used to think coupons were helpful, but since I shop at Aldi, they do not carry name brand items.

    How do you save money not going on a doctor? Do you need to pay to be visited by a doctor?! 😱

    • @DaveeKilian

      Any doctor's visit costs money. With insurance or without insurance. You either have a copay or you pay up front.

    Your list is good but I would not put out on the internet that you don’t go to the dr and don’t bring your daughter to the dr and invest in Essential oils instead. That is not something that is smart to do much less promote it. I don’t know maybe because I am Canadian and I don’t have to open my wallet when I go the dr it’s just something my gouvernent feels that I deserve for “free” as a Canadian. As most countries do besides the us

    • @DaveeKilian
      @DaveeKilian  3 роки тому +2

      Yes we for sure do pay for Dr's visits. I never said I do not go to the doctors as I am having a hospital birth and I have taken my daughter to many of her wellness checks. Please do not misconstrue my words. Also, healthcare is an individuals choice and this is what our family has chosen to do, with fewer doctor's visits and more natural remedies. I appreciate your thoughts though.

      We are the same way when it comes to our health. We use natural remedies whenever possible, essential oils, herbs, Whole Foods. There’s a time and place to go to the doctor but I prefer natural!

    Not going to the doctor for your physical every 6 months is dangerous . And during your pregnancy is dangerous. That's poor advice.
    Everything else you listed is reasonable .
    BJs membership is worth it. Especially using it to pay for gas has helped us alot
