Didn't think I'd ever enjoy the super pedal board heavy sounds from solos but I actually enjoyed this one. It was cool... made the sound stick out from the rest of the ensemble. Really great writing and I had never seen a stadium react like that
Best closer of the year. Hands down. Doesn't hurt that that z-pull seemed like a subtle nod of respect to the Cadets (whether or not that was intended).
I have to say nice editing and well done be proud nice project thanks for sharing and ur time!! And Phan the last 4 yrs their climb has been so cool All Walk Tall and Smile thanx!
that conductor is a baddie i genuinely started screaming when she came on the screen. Also that one quad guy with the long hair AUGHGHH HES SO FINE GIVE ME HIS NUMBER NOW 😛😫 everyone busted down so hard this was the craziest performance ive ever seen
Truly an incredible, beautifully written show! ❤ I love the color pallet shown on the field, the dimension of the drill with the awesome visual effect, and the brilliant artistry displayed!
Between these guys and Boston absolutely killing it this year. Happy to see some of the lower top 10 making their way to the top. Especially disappointed in Crown's show this year.
11:33 so, you are a bugle player, trained for years and years and years...finally!! you made it! "You!" - yes sir? "Drop your bugle and turn this box frame for the last power chords of the show. We need more visuals. Not more power" - ......
Holy crap. You're right. I just noticed that. The brass players put down their horns to turn the cubes instead of playing! I can't believe my eyes. Imagine being one of those players asked to sacrifice everything they dreamed of for rotating a stupid metal cube instead. I would be livid beyond words. It looks like all cubes are being turned by the musicians instead of guard. CRIMINAL. And those players would have added more power to the ending. I've never seen anything like this before. Just so wrong. Poor planning and design.
the mic quality on the soloists for fly or die is always sooo bad, it makes the bass trombone sound disgusting, but with the highschool recording it sounds good
DCI CRIME ALERT: They apparently asked at least a half dozen fantastic brass players to put down their horns at the very end to rotate the metal cubes, instead of participating in one of the greatest closers in recent drum corps history. One works all season and for years for a moment like this, and the director asks them to NOT play, but instead operate a prop. How is this not the most audacious and borderline unethical act to pull on a young musician? It's a destruction of one's dreams and an absurd musical choice because those players would have added to the power of the ending. They didn't join drums corps to spin metal cubes. They joined to PLAY. However, I do understand certain choices have to be made for points, but at a closer? Sacrificing sound for a minor visual?
@@organboi when they first added the spinning props, it originally was one of the color guard members spinning the cube. Why the didn’t keep it, I have no clue.
They joined to be part of a team and a family, sometimes sacrifices need to be made and I don’t think any of the members will go home saying “wow I was really robbed of my summer.” They took a decently cool trumpet part out of our book last year and made it a synth part, no one remembers that at the end of the season, we remember what we accomplished. Valid argument though cuz the closer is the best sort😂
How many times are you going to comment on this? I get that it wasn't drum corps, but back when I marched saxophone I was thrilled to be a part of prop movements. It's just yet another way to contribute yourself and your efforts to the production. The most memorable example of this for myself was pulling a prop across the field during the final hit of one of our shows, and despite having played that movement all season prior to that change, I still felt just as fulfilled. Not that deep.

Hey announcer, knock off the irreverent tone. You sound ridiculous, like Ted Baxter on the MTM Show.
All Corps were great last night, but OMG Phantom!!That Closer, Wow!!!! Favorite Show of the Season!!!
Definitely the best show last night! I think they should’ve won in my opinion
Was there last night…. Closer that took me back to the 80s and 90s crowd pleasers. Not quite a scouts crowd reaction… but close

Listen to that crowd! YESSSS Phantom is back baby.

Awesome... Finally a corps with a great entertaining music book
No words. Maybe one - fantastic.
Amazing show this year! Thanks for this video, it is considerably better than many I have seen.

It feels weird to not see a Flo marching watermark, looks so much better.
Phantom is awesome this year and as always they entertain and wow you.

SUTA!!!😊
This closer is on par with Babylon
Not when brass players drop their horns to spin a cheap metal cube instead. Insane waste of resources.
@@organboi you seem fun
🔥🔥🔥
Is the end of this show better than 2003 Harmonic Journey? Many people are asking……
@@nealsimmons4560 HOT TAKE!?!?!?
2003 harmonic journey is one of my favorite closers by Phantom. This one great too! Thanks Phantom. SUTA!!❤😊🎉

Flo marching mixing is trash, when I saw it live it was so much better.

HOLY CRAP only a small segment of YT users are going to get THAT reference at ALL!.. I mean one would have to be a mimimum of 55 or so! LOL
