    Joel Salatin is a soil prophet. This is the sort of lecture that every child should get when they go to school to learn how humans fit into the real world.

    I honestly feel like I'm in church whenever Joel talks. It makes me sit up and pay attention! Nature is not something to conquer, nor something to worship, she is our partner and friend.

    LOVE this talk. If i was king of the USA, I would make Joel Salatin King of the USA.
    "I love farming where my equity is "nothing" (in the view of the government)". you just changed my life.

    This might be the most dynamic, inspirational and transformational speech from Joel Salatin on farming, climate change, general economy and philosophy i've heard. Wise words from a truly inspirational speaker. This should be mandatory watching for anyone going into farming, or into government for that matter.
    To fix our problems we don't need a few major infrastructure projects imagined in to being by a few select bureaucrats, but millions and millions of small actions by millions and millions of small individuals, a true shift of social consciousness, a true shift of paradigm, a new world born out of the ashes of the old, and we can come into being eden on earth.

    "There is non animal-less ecology. The idea that you can have a functional ecology without animals is simply... inaccurate." "Animals move. Animals don't stay in buildings. They don't stay static, they move around."
    There is a dangerous ideal in the world today that animals are somehow superfluous. Or, even damaging to the ecosystems in which they live - rather than being INTEGRAL and ESSENTIAL parts of the ecological system.

    Thank you, Joel! It was awesome! Thanks to Menoken Farm for uploading the whole series of excellent and motivating videos! The whole speech is very inspiring and infused with humor and passion. I am very intrigued about the opening of that conference. Joel seemed very thrilled by the opening. He said you couldn't see that in NY, what happened? Do you have a video of the opening or could you share your experience from it?

    I believe in “if it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right”. But I think we interpret it differently. You seem to interpret it that if you can’t do it right then don’t try. I interpret it that if I’m going to do something I’m going to take the time to do it right the first time, but I don’t let the risk of failure stop me from trying in the first place. I’m just going to give it my all and do the research and possibly call on a asset for advice or a hand if need be, but come hell or high water it’s going to be done and done right hopefully the first time, if not then the second, third or fourth, etc. So basically I interpret it as, don’t do a half ass job.

      As he was saying it I was thinking "if it's worth doing, it's worth doing it UNTIL you do it right". We're all saying the same thing really. I do think that if you don't do it right the first time, you shouldn't give up - at least, if it's something worth doing. So yeah, great if you do it right first time, but if you don't do it right first time, then keep trying. And what Joel is saying is that you almost NEVER do it right first time - because you don't know what you're doing and you can always improve on it.

    If you are attention challenged, just watch 32:00 to 36:10, you can thank me later. This is beyond agriculture, it is beyond soil health, as so much of his talks are.

      jkm I disagree...if you don't watch the entire thing, most won't get the entire message...cherry picking information is a disservice!!!!

      @idiocracy10 5 років тому +3

      @@billiamc1969 if you dont watch any of it, you wont get any of the message. If they get a taste of it, they will probably watch the whole thing.
