I’ve only played Shiren 5, and that game was always so overwhelming with the stuff you could do, and the day/night. I’m enjoying this one a lot. I thought it might be more of the same, but I love all the story, and alternate routes. I think Shiren 5 will be fun to go back to after I master Shiren 6, then all those systems won’t be too much anymore
You can feel the impact Dark Souls had on Chunsoft. Gone are the easy tutorial dungeons and the luxury of point cards and Undo Grass. Back to the cycle of "die, lose everything, and try again." I like it!

Glad to see you back for the new entry! Can't wait to learn the game alongside you

In hindsight I probably should've stuck with Lv3 Mudkin monsters instead of Lv4, but the exp farming technique still worked out in the end.
Ye lv4 seem way too tanky
Shiren 6 is good for beginners
I personally liked 5 a lot more than this one. 6 was fine, but felt very limited and UGLY compared to the previous game.
Shiren 5 came out in 2010. Sadly, nowadays companies rarely gives us pixel art games
