Just wanted to say both parts of your playthrough were a huge help in learning some of the finer points of this game as a newcomer! I can feel my first clear coming soon... 😀
I'm a Shiren newbie and just bought the game and couldn't find a guide. Thank you so much! There is so much about this series that I was clueless about!
If you're a newcomer, I recommend making use of the new Parallel Play feature. It basically lets you duplicate the current instance of your game so you can safely experiment and figure things out. You can even use it to ID items and scout ahead in the dungeon.
Hi, thank you for this walk-through video. My 1st time even knowing a game called Shiren the Wanderer and was given the game to play for a review. Your walk-through makes it look easier than playing it myself. Anyway, thank you again. ❤
"Heavenly Scroll" is a more accurate translation than Fate Scroll. The exact name in Japanese is "Scroll of Heavenly Blessing," which is why they called it the Air Bless Scroll in Shiren DS.
It's funny that you had to pretend you couldn't fight that first dragon so you could explain how to deal with it in a run that didn't give you such a good sword and shield. The sky dragon in the floor 29 hell room though, bleh. Get paralyzed. Being super overprepped for the boss fight in grasses was also pretty much identical to my experience with it.
Nice I caught this one early. How do you feel about night mechanics? I did a play through of Shiren 5s story to whet my appetite for 6, and actually came around to it. I loved the tension of limited encounters per floor without consumables. Behemoths are also a very fun wrinkle to replace it though!
I personally like night mechanics, but after 2 games of it I was ready for something new too. It's fun since it mixes up the way you play the game and you can be creative when it comes to fighting vs. stalling or running away, but maybe they had a bit too high of attack power since collapsing due to a missed input never really felt too great.

Thank you for this, it helped me clear this dungeon today. It's so much different compared to the pokemon mystery dungeons that I'm used to.
