  • Welcome to the Brain & Body Exercise Class! This Parkinson's symptom-focused exercise class is designed to challenge both your brain and your body to help you manage the symptoms of Parkinson's while improving endurance, strength, and stability. Polly demonstrates all of these exercises seated so that you can challenge yourself fully without worrying about balance. There will be an optional standing section toward the end of the workout where you can challenge your balance.

    Hello Polly and Cooper! This was a great workout. It was fun to do a classic Polly exercise with the bear claw during warmup. I enjoy all of the exercises and appreciate their benefits, but I always feel the most benefit from the Right/Left series. I think what I feel is most beneficial is the opportunity to repeat the exercises during the workout. If I have a challenge during the first go round, I know I have another opportunity to try and improve soon. That is a comfort because sometimes I'm concentrating on getting the movement so much that I don't have the intensity I want, but I know I'll have another opportunity to step it up. Thank you Polly and everyone at PFP for your efforts. I also would like to share my appreciation for all the kind words, encouragement and reples to my comments. It means so much to me and really makes me feel a part of the PFP community.

      Yes!! The bear claw really is a classic Polly exercise isn't it Eric!!     Thanks Polly. We like the exercises where there is counting in 2's, 3's or tens. Paula needs to be noisier so please encourage everyone to vocalise as much as possible. Many thanks Paula and Jon

      Hi Paula + Jon, we appreciate the reminder to encourage the vocalizations! Paula, I think you must enjoy mathematics--usually when we count by 2s or 3s or 4s I can tell who in my class enjoys math because they jump right in and shout those numbers out with gusto!😉. Wishing you a lovely week!

    Thank you for your time and dedication Polly! Loved all the pattern exercises as the PD effects cause problems with coordination and those exercises of yours help me maintain my neuroplasticity (a word I learned from you) and help keep me mentally sharp. Combined with your cardio exercises, I feel good for the rest of the day. Oh, also, I love it when Cooper wanders and interrupts you and nuzzles you for attention. Makes me laugh out loud at the TV and laughter is a good medicine for PD as well.

      Hello Fred, thank you for your wonderful comment-I have to agree that Cooper’s antics often make me laugh out loud as well!! So funny!! I think Cooper adds a little levity to the workout for all of us and that is a good thing! We are so glad these exercises help you feel great for the rest of the day! That is so awesome!!     Hello again Polly, Cooper and everyone at PfP. Thank you for another fab workout Polly! I particularly enjoyed the pattern exercises 'across, down, up and out' and also the 10, 20, 30 section. I get a real sense of achievement when I (finally) get on top of these exercises and manage to do them correctly, after some practising.
    This workout really got my heart rate up, so not only great for both my cardio and co-ordination, but you will also save me a small fortune on my energy bills too as these exercises really did make me sweat and kept me warm, so I didn't need to have the heating on full blast! :D Feeling so much better doing your classes Polly so thank you very much. Have a really good week.
