I've got to say, I've watched TONS of videos on the 2021 raptor and the way you describe the truck, its handling and general features was the best video yet! It feels like you are riding with your buddy and hes describing what he loves about the truck. Great job!

This model Raptor actually seemed to sound decent. I haven't heard one in person that I like but maybe Ford got it right. If I ever have to upgrade my Ranger Tremor, I would love the Raptor but worry about it's width on trails. F150 Tremor would likely do it for me.

I cannot justify $82K for any vehicle no matter how many goodie’s is has. The average person like me could not touch a vehicle like this . More power to those who can.

Great review; this is my favorite car channel. The truck is nice, but not my speed: too big, too expensive, too "full time lit" character for "rare, extreme needs".
Case in point: I think Road & Track noted that the orange grille lights are DOT required clearance lights because it's so wide/folks might not realize there's a whole truck between each head light.

Jeez these trucks are getting to big. I’m looking forward to the new Ranger (tremor or raptor edition maybe?). My Current F150 is is very limiting on trails due to not only the size, but also the terrible outward visibility. Not a raptor guy. Currently have a 2018 f150 screw with ecoboost though. I love the power of the truck v6. If I were to upgrade to something more capable it would likely be the Tremor. A great compromise between capability and price ( they’re all too expensive). As I frequently tow a travel trailer the Raptor isn’t as suitable. Also, not hard core off roader, and the majority seem to be mall crawlers anyway. Kinda like a TRX.
The next couple years should be interesting with all the electric trucks coming up. Yuppies gotta have something to spend money on and besides they make great oversized Prius’s. I think oversized parking will be a pay for park soon enough.

so ya, you want to put it in 4H not 4L to do a muddy hill. You want LESS torque and more wheel spin. So 4H, second gear, floor it. Air down would also help. 4L give it more torque and less spin which simply digs a hole in the ground.

The tailgate step on the fussy side? Lol. Simple to use, just a few steps to set it up. Basic as one can get.

Not sure I’d call “just a few steps” simple when referring to a literal step. Don’t get me wrong I’d have gotten my F-150 with one if I could but it’s far from the simplest setup (which would probably be GMs Bumper corner cutout).

I know you're limited to the terrain where you live but the Raptor was not made to crawl up muddy dirt roads....just my 2 cents.

Very nice. About the seats. Are those, or can it be gotten with, the max recline leather seats? And do you think the 37 runs as smooth and quiet and comfortable as the 35, especially on the highway, are they similar, or is one better than the other in that regard? And lastly, do you know if real snow tires, not just snowflake rated all terrains, but real snow tires, are available in the after market in the right size for either or both the 37 or 35 Raptor? Thanks.

    • @whocaresjustdoit
      @whocaresjustdoit 2 місяці тому

You cannot get these with max recline seats since these are off-road seats, they’re catered towards sports performance over comfort (although they’re very comfortable).
For how big the 37s are, they pretty much make no noise and hum. These are 3 peak rated for severe snow. Of course, they’re not as good as dedicated snow tires but since they’re so big, they just go over anything. I’ve driven over a foot of snow with no problem. These are made for all terrain, all season and I think they’re really good.

This isn't for the average guy....this truck is a toy and status symbol. Buying this truck is like buying a BMW or Mercedes to truck owners. This truck represents an elite group. Don't let the F150 badge fool you.

Trouble is most people buying trucks now are for toys and status symbols...they don't tow, and they don't work with their trucks, its all about hey look at me I have this over-priced useless family sedan with this weird trunk with no lid on it that I over-paid for.
I'd rather just have a base model 4x4 maybe add the rear locker and that's it. Then again I use my trucks as trucks....and this new Raptor gets almost as bad of fuel economy as the 460 V8 in my F250 gets...pretty pathetic truck they're building when everything is supposed to so much about fuel economy and the environment, they go and build that Raptor and then only put a turbo V6 in it what a joke. Should have got a crate 460 and thrown in it and added a super charger...probably would have gotten the same or slightly better fuel economy. It would help if they wouldn't have thrown those heavy huge tires on it that 99% of buyers will never need, and probably sell the truck when they wear out the tires when they realize they're like $2500 to replace them.

@@wildbill23c this is an average guys mentality.....they have a fx4 package for ya bruh with a 5.0. There is a truck for ya if you don't want to pay. Trucks have been daily drivers for over 15 years especially in Texas. A lot of people will get the raptor bcuz of what its capable of, what it means in the truck world, how smooth it drives and the fun factor. There isn't a difference when people buy track focused cars and never going to the track in it.

I turn 30 next month, have 3 kids and paid off my 2017 Raptor last year. I made an average of $105k over the last five years. It was tighter than I wanted as my down payment was almost completely eradicated by medical expenses, but we made it happen. I would say most of the Raptor owners I've met make $90k+, with a good deal of them having plenty of spending money (either from age or big salaries).
