Update Post From Raein after the bug fix : Unfortunately the low cooldown on stomp was apparently unintended which means we no longer have access to any skills on abomination that allow it to clear monoliths due to the longstanding bug with its default attack Technically this change allows you to save 6 points on the abom tree and multiply your damage by 2 or 3 but it the loss of QoL is too great to justify ever playing this unless you are a sweaty tryhard looking to day 1 t4 dungeons at level 60. You can still play this but that 6 second cooldown is hard to deal with. - Raein
Seems fun. Combining the tail swipe with the first lvl of arrows giving alright clear. Combined with the skeleport. Teleport the abom into packs and he blows them up. Currently running something similar corruption 600. Still kills t4 julra in sub 10 seconds. And can carry 500+ echoes.
I apologize for the quality of the footage, but I had to use Discord screen share so we could show you what the new Abom is like since I didn't have time to level and set up a Necromancer!
I think it'll be better in the long run if you upload at 1080p gameplay at a minimum. I can't imagine you're in such a huge race for Last Epoch content that you need to upload essentially illegible gameplay content. Thanks for your content tho and I look forward to more!
@@mixmastermeat the gamsplay is legible and there really wasn't any other way of actually getting the footage because I didn't have time whatsoever. The fact I even got gameplay was through the kindness from someone else!
I absolutely love Abom builds, but I'm concerned that my party members might get annoyed by the summon ritual so frequently, and on the other hand, I'll get annoyed at the summon ritual as I know my friends aren't all that fast at things and like to take their sweet ass time between everything they do ( inventory management vendor checks and so on) I also have a concern about it being abom AI in a party.. We all know abom isn't smart and doesn't always stick by you/attack those your near. How often will it go to charge a group of minions your teams mates are already killing/have killed.
when I was playing with a party, with a good Abom setup in it, we were just following him essentially. He did so much damage and had so much clear, that we could just follow the leader and let him do all the work! It was annoying trying to keep up with the AI though tbh.
@@Dr3adful Hmmn good to hear, think I might "league" start this on the second. Do you know if much has changed from the "perma" abom build you did? Thinking that might be better to start till I get some of the uniques going.
Hey dread, is this build still viable, despite stating it is tough with the long cooldown? I’m not looking for clear speed in monos just flat out best damage but also can reach high monos maybe 700+. If not, what’s the best build for abomination for 0.9i3? I’m trying to find any decaying build since it does more damage than the undying one
In my experience, clear speed and/or damage was NEVER an Abomination issue. The only thing I felt lacking on my numerous Necro builds was survivability, specifically: I wanted more armor and some kind of sustain. I noticed some content creators (including you, Dread) going the life regen route, which in my opinion is not optimal. Instead I managed to fix all issue through a neat combo of rip blood (targeting Abom) and Heart of Ulkheiros. I dont usually give advice on builds, but in this case I felt the need to comment because I spent a couple hundred hours solely on this build and I'm confident this is literally peak optimization. TLDR: I have a huge ass death machine and the ability to generate around 7k ward on top of my 3k life.
Just to kinda go point by point: Abom AI definitely is an issue for clear speed relative to other classes especially the default attack. Damage is ofc not an issue though I agree, but the primary benefit of stacking so many minions is the duration. In optimised setups these aboms can fairly reliably get into the tens of millions of hp and last up to 8 minutes without factoring in leech. When I was initially putting the build together last year duration was my #1 priority and damage just came as a side benefit. I also agree on defense. Necro has good baseline defense but not great defensive scaling. You basically just get hp + endurance and slap on a bastion. Recovery though is one of the strong points of this build, instead of going regen I am stacking leech because you can leech off of infernal shade when it is ticking your abom for 6k+ damage. Getting 3-8% leech on that is a lot of recovery. Rip blood setup is an option for sure but I don't have spec slots for that. Only skill I could drop is skeletons which loses their resummoning chance and that just isn't an option for this build. In terms of the absolute peak of defensive power on the build I don't think you can compete with ravenous void + a large ward pool from vessel of strife + bastion. The thing about heart is that it undermines the benefit of being a summoner, you need to sit still and cast it to get your defenses up whereas more passive defenses can solely focus on avoiding boss mechanics. It's easy to underestimate how big that is for staying alive. Like dread mentioned though, even on current patch I don't have good enough gear to make the swap to vessel. Getting a +level abom affix onto a very rare unique relic is a big task and not worth the time investment until you've gotten really good stuff into your other slots.
@@rein7046 Well, to be honest, snapshotting gear for speed + damage completely negates all issues and all you have left is cover defenses. But I do understand some player might object to snapshotting.

But how does the build looks now ? I was looking forward to try this but did not see the notes 🤣 trying to find a big number build for necro!

Thanks for showcasing the build! I had a ton of fun playing with you guys and I'm really hyped for the next one.

@@TheLolagasm nah the perm abom setup should be just fine!
The transplant minion teleport will also be good with this if falls behind or stuck on something.
Same I love minions, but resummoning abomination while playing with my friends isn’t really going to work.

I love Heart but you want it with + to abom levels on it imo. Heart probably will get a nerf before 1.0 I believe.

Can you still snapshot aura of decay?
