Oh wow it's even old-school invoker where the order of your orbs matters.
i've been playing Necromancer in LE. It is by far the best necromancer experience i've had in ARPGs. And i've played many. The impact caused by the golem and the other multiple summons feels so great. You actualy feel powerful in this game
You missed the best combo. 'Ice, Ice, Baby' enables Frosted Tips - does psychic damage AoE

Yeah that impact feel is something that they've obviously been focusing on because I recall seeing a lot of feedback about combat feeling 'floaty' in earlier versions. This game as so much promise it's insane.
They got to that aspect of the game a bit later in development, focusing on technical aspects and mechanics first
Noticed that classes started feeling much better with recent updates, starting with a major one last year

I love this game. The problem with this class is it’s just so much better then all the other classes. I feel like some of the classes need a re work maybe after 1.0 to put them on par with Runemaster
I think they already mentioned that the balance is out of wack and not their main concern for now. The main balance overhaul will come just before the 1.0 release to close the gaps. They will not expect it to work out initialy since groups etc will abuse very specific interactions, but that's going to be interesting to see at least :D.
@@izaruburs9389 yeah I think there are what like two or three more classes they need to finish before 1.0 which is zooming up pretty fast. It would make total sense to me if they won't be able to revisit the older classes before then.
lmao imagine thinking that when something is cool and better than other options, they will buff the rest to be on par instead of just nerfing fun to be as low as the rest
@@tommylongschlong3646 Literally every single ARPG for you. This genre lives of off the gameplay alone. There is no ARPG, outside of lost ark (which was designed to be more of an MMO than ARPG), that isn't just an infinite loop.
Lich and Necromancer are just as strong as runemaster with druid not far behind. The other classes need buffs but it's not so superior it's a rank above other top tier classes.
glad to see they finally released one of the newer classes. can't wait to see the others.

Man I loved the magicka system. Casting rain + using lightning on enemies was amazing, ice meteor that one shot almost everything... One of my favorites was using 3 stones + 2 fire

Reminds me of FFXIV Ninja execution crossed with gw2 Weaver expansiveness in the amount of things. Seems really cool!
Bought the game 2 months ago, and started playing it 3 weeks ago, when I got bored and wanted finally to give it a shot, I am already 150h and leveling multiple characters of the same subclass. I just hope they will fix some of the current issues, mostly pathfinding with movement skills.
They are working on that, devs are always present on chat, so if you call them out, they answer
Can't wait for 1.0 and having everything in game.. It's so incredibly exciting to finally almost there!

Runemaster looks amazing. I was worried it would be like a trap class. I have already theorycrafted a really cool looking build but I sadly haven't had time to play
So many combos and they all look great, crazy.

Been enjoying playing runemaster with the fire, lightning, fire invocation a lot
Seeing how they made that class that technical, we might expdct major changes on other classes so they feel impactful as well.
The Runemaster is pure fun. The only time I ever played a class with a similar mechanic was the Warden in Lord of the Rings Online in, and I had to look it up, 2008(!). That one sadly had annoying cries and shouts instead of cool effects though.
I could imagine that even many casual players will also have fun with this class because it seems to me that it's not strictly necessary to memorize all these combinations, though this will obviously only increase the strength of the class.

This looks awesome. It's funny you mention Invoker. I one tricked my man Carl for years in dota, so this class looks amazing to me. I can't wait to try it
Did they change the Dynamic damage reduction for bosses yet? The more dmg you get the more hp they get etc?

I'm level 93ish on my plasma orb runemaster and it's very fun. Definitely a class you have to pay attention on though. That's the only downside so far is it's hard to just space out and grind while watching something because i start messing up my rune order. Very fun so far though around 200 corruption.
This looks Clean AF. Hope they rework the other classes after release. Some are a bit more basic compared to this. Playing a totem frostbite shaman at the moment
Plasma orb seems insane if you can get the uptime and dmg with it. Cool class for sure
You can get more than 1 out at a time :p or atleast just after the patch adding the class.
That's fking amazing. This game has the potential to be side by side with poe. I hope they get the support they require
@zizaran Imagine implementation of a unique amulet that gives u a random permanent runic invocation, basically like hellfire amulet in d3 or poe replica dragonflight, instead of having to cast the fire/fire/cold, you just runic invocation with a reduced damage or some other drawback!
I think thats already in the invocation skill tree, when you use the skill it casts based on the tags of the first 3 skills in your hotbar rather than gaining glyphs as you cast, with no drawback

The greater fireball sound alone is literally perfect . And the visuals are amazing. I wish it would just hit like a truck to match the feel of it.
I'm trying to wait till 1.0 release to play it. I'm leaning towards either runemaster or lich. Game looks great from what I've seen, but I wish they had loadouts in the game. Just add a cooldown if they are so afraid of people abusing it.

This one subclass has more depth than the entirety of Diablo 4
I love how well this fulfills the 'wizard with a billion different spells' fantasy for once. But it does make the other classes feel a bit pale in comparison. Except Necromancer, that's absolutely solid. So hopefully Warlock and Falconer can live up to Runemaster's quality, and potentially the older classes get expansion/reworks down the line.
Faker should play this. Can you imagine the highlight reels he he would create spawning the perfect combinations.
This looks so fun to play I almost want to boot up the game just to try this class. (I did and I'm having a lot of fun with it) I've gotten bored leveling in my other attempts, but the fun gameplay here might be able to keep me along. (I'm still getting bored in the void campaign. It's just too much of the same.)

dota 1 had this version of invoker since 2005 i believe, and even then they probably stole the concept from some other custom

The question is, are the combos more effective than just spamming the same primary damage spell? This is an ARPG where typically, clear speed and efficiency win out. This caster playstyle doesnt look like it either of those things. Cool as it might seem.
That’s where the skill tree comes in. There’s skills in the tree that cause your runic invocation to trigger the runes based off your skill setup on your bar, rather than what you cast. There’s skills that cause it to automate itself, there’s skills that cause it to be a nuke on a CD. Lots of play in the tree.

@@don_juant PoE streamer's viewers thinking with poe mentality. You have a keen ability of pointing out the obvious.
The main ones people are using are the duration skills so they can either be up consistently or at least continue working while you cast other stuff.
Very cool, I love Invoker. I worry though that without cooldowns (I know, controversial topic in ARPGs) you will end up spamming a couple or doing a small rotation. In Dota you are very much incentivised to use them all, curious what they will do balancing wise and on the skill tree to make it not just a rotation but a fun and engaging system. I could see buffs for not having a duplicate spell in the last 10 or sth, that could just make it a bigger rotation though.
There are some buffs in the Runic Invocation skill tree that promote using different invocations, but all the high end builds so far seem to pick one invocation to use exclusively.
@@slouch186 Yeah, the tree for the skills and for runemaster itself are definitely built to encourage using multiple invocations, but somehow it still doesn't seem to come together well.

I just hope they did not fuck themselves over regarding balancing of this class. Looks like a lot of work to keep this class grounded.
Also I find that almost too much, but at the end, knowing ARPGs, this probably ends up in you spamming only 1-3 of them anyways, so I guess its fine.

best skill tree option for that is when you cast say 3 runes. lets say fire fire fire for example. Not only do you cast the 3 fire. You also cast the 1 fire and the 2 fire as well. So it lets you cast all the runes as separate spells plus combined. imo this game is better then D4 in every way. Wish it had legendries they changed up your skills though. But i guess that's the point of skill trees.

Cool to see people like you doing this. The disabled community really should follow your path. You show that the disabled can review games just like anyone else. It really sucks how some get made fun of when trying stuff like this. I know a person with down syndrome also. Well I mean you guys sound a like. He kinda weird in other ways though. Like he likes guys lol. He knows most think that’s just gross but he handles that part just ok. But his disability “which I guess the other could be considered “lol he handles that well. talking bout impact in a video game: all the other class in LE lack impact/sounds - atleast the 4-5builds ive played so far.
i mean...the concept is nice and all, but aint nobody gonna remember the 1000 different spell combos required for this shit while speed running maps lol. Its cool on paper but highly impractical during actual gameplay.
It's such a unique concept that Blizzard stole it 20 years ago when they made the Assassin.

its a cool system but i cant see majority of the combinations having a place in endgame, like the bomb makes no sense it explodes way too late in a game that revolves around clearing echoes as fast as possible. aesthetically its cool, functionally many of them will never be used
bomb for preloading dmg for a long spawning boss, i can see it work
@@zelassin that would be so niche for a very small % of encounters ever. building around that would make 1 of your 5 abilities useless for so much of the content. Again talking from a min max pespective ofc, in terms of what ppl find fun I guess it's fine?

The game as it is is already worth it
I just went through most of the campaign with it... mostly not actually using it.
The problem is the same problem as before.
That first hit always crits unique you get at the beginning of the game is just too good for campaign.
It basically ruins campaign with how good it is. How is it still in the campaign?
Most of the rune spells are cool, but they aren't super chunky, and it means that auto-crit usually gets wasted.
Invested in reverse glacier.
And then in power surge static.
And then typically just 1 shot packs and go corral the next pack to 1 shot in the 4 second wait time. Then wait 4 seconds for crit to reload to static anything super beefy.
These are just mage skills, not runemaster.
Tried hard to fit in the runemaster skills but they mostly just acted as cleanup for trash mobs while waiting.
You'd think rune master with the extra setup for runes would revel in rhythmic combat but that campaign unique puts so much pressure on that single first hit that it's hard to not juice that one hit.
You’re pigeon holing yourself with that unique. It absolutely isn’t necessary.
There’s lots of other unqiues(especially new ones) like the mad alchemist’s ladle that create insanely fun leveling play styles
Problem is it's a 100% guaranteed unique at the start of chapter 2 (of ~9?).
There's no, oh, wow, I found a quill rain. It's... you're ALWAYS gonna get a quill rain for we'll say, Brutus.
It's not good for every build, forever, but how are you not building your leveling strategy around getting something so good, so early, guaranteed?
You have to blatantly force yourself to nerf yourself.
This looks cool but is mostly for fluff. You will quickly realize most invoked spells have weird AoEs and you cannot scale 3 elements into endgame. So what happens is instead of evoking 10+ spells all the time, you pick like 2 that make sense and keep spamming those, on top of Teleport and Focus. Which is pretty on par with every other build in the game, but kinda defeats the class fantasy of Invoker.
i think theres too many tbh, i feel like the order shouldnt matter, 2ice 1 fire should aways gives the same spell no matter the order imo. maybe, idk

This game is unplayable without UI scaling for people with bad eyesight. Seen it being requested Alot but still nothing after two years. Dissapointing as the text size is just ridiculously small.
