  • Our KPIJCI Jaw Crusher takes on waste granite blocks as we process it into concrete and asphalt agregate. This material was transported from a local quarry to our site to be processed by our jaw, cone , and washplant into 3/4" rock, pea rock, and man sand. These prducts will be utilized on local infrastructure projects next construction season, rather than left as waste alongside the quarry. This is an ideal use for dimensional stone that dosent meet the aesthetic needs for decorative purposes.

Awesome footage of blasted granite being crushed. I could watch this all day, do you have video footage of the results of the granite being stockpiled? How many tons were crushed per hour?? Keep up the good work

Eli Whitney Blake in 1851 patented the first jaw crusher. They do block occasionally. Glad you enjoy

After all these months I just noticed that granite has to be one of the hardest rock material to crush and once it reaches the cone crusher it's pretty easy on the machine do I have that right? I like to see it when a wheel loader scoops up crushed granite and stockpile it or load the trucks.

    • @wdscepaniak

Granite is very abrasive and wears away at the metal hoppers very aggressively when compared to gravel

Looks like a real pita to crush, would reducing the water or eliminating it from the chamber allow more grip thus increased throughput?

    • @wdscepaniak

@@wdscepaniak yeah water in the chamber at least in our experience increases wear and slippage. Water directly under the jaw maybe a better option

They could open up the bottom of the crusher to increase output depending on what secondary they have after the jaw crusher

Wow granite is hard to crush. Is the water for dust suppression? Maybe it lubes the jaws and reduces crushing efficiency, just a thought. How about spraying just below the jaws, would still stop the dust but jaw would crush better dry. Great video thanks

Granite is one hard Rock to crush it can sit in the crusher and bounce about for ages and other times will come out the crusher about 6 feet in the air it knocks a crusher to bits but it's the best crushed rock hard as a ehores heart and that sound there's nothing like it gets into your blood it's a job I love 12hr shifts fly by
