The guy must be an hourly employee who came up with the hook design 😂
That hook set up is about as efficient as eating soup with chopsticks. What a cluster.
It was painful to watch. I had to shut it off.
Ya you'd figure they would have a better system..😅🤣😂
Like watching paint dry, my gawd man
@@dondumo3152 seriously gah damn. this is a major operation and they cant think of any better way to do it. it was so painful i had to skip it... they have how many ppl and cant come up with a solution which is probably an extremely often occurrence...
simply attach an automatic wiper to the top which rakes material as it rotates. it could even be a button to rotate whenever it jams, absolutely insane how a here few bucks could save thousands
@@yourdrummer2034 pñ
The tremendous satisfaction of the crushing was so efficiently offset by the anxiety inducing ineffectiveness of the hook.
A
Agreed.
Kudos to the one-armed blind guy running the hook.
Dr. Hook

That hook is not from harbor freight

was I the only one reaching for a joy stick to take over the hook job ! ???
ja das ist schrecklich. da denkt man,man müßte Mithelfen!! Der nächste LKW kommt bestimmt gleich!
This can't be the 1st time a rock got stuck they gotta have a better way.
Yep. It's called a boom-mounted hydraulic jack hammer.
Even the hook looks like it's questioning what's going on here...
I've never ran a overhead crane, but please allow me to teach this guy something, oh my
Nahhh don't need to
That's Hoihs 🪝
Ya it doesn't look like it's doing much
🤣🤣
Well why is the management continuously allowing the loaders to put such over-sized boulders into the dump trucks?
I can't believe I watched 36 minutes of this, fascinating!
That hook is not just slow but almost useless
Had to be said
His dad never gave him a dollar for the skill crane game.
It's not that good.......
I have a feeling this is not about clearing the crusher but more about trying to do as little work as possible.
That hook is basically an upside-down question mark. So it fits this whole operation quite nicely.
that winching hook arm is so prehistoric
Think the guy operating it was equally prehistoric - that tool was totally unsuited to that task at hand.
Seems like a be a little more efficient dangling a giant air hammer over that than a single hook but what do I know
Some crushers do use hydraulic breaker arms but a lot of people don't like them because they tend to damage the crusher over time. Hooks are a quick fix but they don't always work. Then you have to crane it out or sometimes a thermal lance is used to cut the boulder. Not so much now since someone hit a moisture pocket and it blew back in his face....
That big rock was like a pimple on a back but the excavator operator still sent it to the Hopper lol
Move the hook a little up, a little left, a little right... don't smash it into the rocks or anything. You wouldn't want to actually get some work done now.
Paid buy the hour ...
must be a union gig
We have a hydraulic rock breaker at our gyro. Clears bridged over material or breaks up large boulders efficiently. This hook thing hanging from the crane is useless...
Absolutely 👏
This hook is useless and eat away productivity.
I wish the Plant Manager realize the loss of productivity.
Amen on that
The problem here is nobody knows how to get their head out of their ass
That's why you don't pay people like it by the hour
I strongly recommend using a rubber hook. Then the risk of damaging the bouldsrs is reduced, and downtime will be even higher then it is now.
😂😂🤣🤣
Tinh lọc da đấy à. Như khai thác than ý nhỉ. 👍
It truely amazes me that a company can afford to purchase truly exceptionally machinery but can’t find anyone with any intelligence to operate it ! 😳
They pay journalists 5x more to write clickbait then they will pay workers in blue collar.
What is he going to do, this guy isn't in charge and they gave him a Hook to do this with, if he came up with the idea himself well lol.
This operation runs 24/7...these videos are a tiny percentage of daily work.
You'd think they'd come up with a better manupulator on the crane for this rather than the simple hook.
This is so exciting is like watching the paint go dry
I ask this to the man who edits and records the videos. Did you know that we can rewind the video as many times as we want without having to repeat it 3 times? Cheers
Ok
🤣
That was the instant-action-replay bruh

very good this work..a hug from Brazil...
I worked at a processing shed and every breakdown that we had with hunter in 190 employees cost the company $7,000 per minute.on losses
Keren lubang pembuangan ya mamtap👍👍👍
The spray mist was a nice touch. That explains why all that dirt sticks to the sides.
Amazing. The amazing patience of the crane driver, with the metal ?
We got big jaw crusher sometimes big ones get stuck to clear it we got an attachment from a jcb wheeled digger had it installed and put a breaker on it worked a treat
A set of grizzly bars over the hopper would be a start.
I worked in a lime stone quarry for 17 years. We had a big impact crusher that worked amazing. When we got big ones that wouldn't go down the shout we would get some mud or clay an a blasting cap or 3 an bang no more jam. Back to crushing in 10 minutes or less.
Joe Ram, is what we used, quiet effective.
150- 175 loads a day.
Jefferson County Stone
Kentucky.

What a joke! If I was the owner of this company I'd be pissed
Gotta be the most inefficient crushing operation I have ever seen.
Wonder how much gold they make every day?
I agree
Spoken like a Flat Earther who can't comprehend the size of the Earth. This is only the first stage of crushing. Compare the size of what's outside of the pit.. to what goes in it.
@@funnyguy1487 Huh???

I fell asleep. Did they ever get the boulder out with the stupid hook?
I'm hooked on this video.
That seems like the slowest most cumbersome tool you could use to do that with but cool video
He did a great job my patience just wore out that’s all!
11 minutes 30 seconds to wiggle that hook into position.
And no learning. Next time, same story. But on the other hand, by the number of views it must have paid off.
@@AndreasDelleske paid by the hour and not the tonnage so who’s stressing🙄
He’s been doing this for the last 25 years with room for improvement
Mount a long reach boom on the side of the pit. Attach a jackhammer to the boom. Hammer and push boulders around to clear them.
Maybe put bars up to prevent large rocks that size from getting into cone??
Worked at a mine upstate NY we would drill n blast big stones 2500 ft below surface. I remember call him crusher man o crusher man..he would tell us dump or not was it rock or ore what a smoking job
These videos are supposed to be ASMR, but that god damned hook is maddening.
Looks like it is time to clean the hopper.
Reminds me of a 5 year old playing the claw machine at an arcade......
I'm a female I guess it's in my blood my father used to work with heavyweight vehicles I love this kind of job so interesting🦊
That operator did a great job. What he does is not an easy task.
Can you do more videos of cleaning the ramp area from build up?
Ok I will try
@@TECHNICALINFOMINING ooookkl
I think it's hard work
He did a great job? Hmmmm… that’s hard to say. Getting the job done and doing a great job is not exactly the same thing. He got the job done EVENTUALLY, with the ridiculous equipment he had to work with.
The dirt add a layer of protection to the shoot. It never wears the metal down. If it were bare metal the metal would wear over time.
I loose patience looking at it. Love thé videp
The person trying to control that hook must be the most frustrated person in the world !!
acho que ele é ruim operador mesmo.
The shovel operator who loads the trucks isnt doing his job by letting oversized rocks get placed into the trucks. He could more easile bust up the rocks at the pit instead of sending them to the crusher and causing delays and possibly some costly damage. He needs at the least a repremand.
I never even thought of this as a thing that is very satisfying to watch and hear. I just want to scrape the sides with that hook and clean things up between loads whether stopped up or not. Weird.
Crane operator: paid by the hour I’d assume.
We didn't have a hook. We used a big boat anchor on a huge chain with a overhead. The boat anchor could slip behind the wedge and pop it free, easily.
This hooke is a poor troubleshooter. Better to take a gripper.
Pissing into the wind with that hook 😂
I've rebuilt one of those crushers from Vulcan Materials back in the early 80's
The one in Polk County Florida
Between 27 and 33
Brookfield Florida plant
quicker to lower a man down in a work cage with a jack-hammer.
I’m frustrated AF and I’m only twelve minutes in. That large hook on the chain has got to be the most useless things for that crusher they could have gotten.
I was thinking the same so much time wasted

P ferro gusa?
What they need to clear the jam is a grapple to grab the stuck peaces then drop them brake them up to feed into the grinder.
In the lime quarry we had a small wedge on a steel cable. We would change the shape or angle of the rock that got stuck in the primary. It was very effective.
Wow....like watching grass grow
Vibrators definitely needed on the hopper.
or a pole facing down attatched to an arm that rotates, simply hit a button to clear a jam... ofc you add one to each side so it clears both
Having watched many videos from this job site, I am curious where this quarry is located.
Is the guy drunk? I figured you would want to clear the jam. Instead we have a guy gently moving the hook one way then the other. 🙄
Yep. Barely into the video, can't eat anymore. Too painful.
are the Rocks collected underneath what's the purpose of this
@@trickywily2823 hi 👋🏻 It's an ore crusher, similar to any other rock crusher for paving and such. In this case the ore is pulverized(due to the color of everything I assume iron ore) to a specific size then moved on conveyors or carts to furnaces. Then in the furnaces it's heated, specific alloys are added(such as carbon if making steel), and slag is skimmed off the top. It's unfortunate this video doesn't offer more information and that they don't show or explain more of the operation.
the whole damn operation is drunk. its insane how they havent thought of a simple solution to a million dollar operation like wtf. everyone there is definitely getting paid hourly and doesnt give 2 shits about their job
Grizzly bars needed to size large blocking boulders.
The most nerve wracking hook in the history of youtube.
I could watch this ALL day long!
Also, I feel like they should have an articulating claw... Like those stuffed-animal games. THEN... you can sign-me-up!
I agree with you
Can you find good help no more convenient that use knows how to use the brain
How come there's not a vibrator in that machine
That hole is really hungry.... It eats all of that truck load in minutes... It crazy

Holy cow! That is a BIG boulder!!
Crane is OK hook may need addressing.
Keep the sides clear with high pressure H2o.
Close the shot pattern?
On the big hook for declogging.
If there was a second cable on the back of half circle u could put the point right where u want it
I've thought the same, but then you can't get it to turn around to point the other way. A better crane operator would do wonders
Stone Age that hook! Buy a hydraulic hammer for fixed installation! So you can producing tons!!!🎉
seems like it would be easier to put a metal grid filter to keep out rocks above a certain size
Amazing....
That hook is as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike.
They can't really use the hook because it's the wrong shape for what they want to do in this instance. More importantly, it isn't properly attached to the winch cable. The hook holding the larger hook does not have anything that will hold the cable in. The larger hook could just release into the cone. Can't wait to see that happen.
👍👍👍👍👍
Nice
