Craig......for heaven’s sake please wear a face mask when you disassemble such a dusty sofa......you have no idea how bad that stuff is for your lungs! Apart from that nice work!
@@okjoe5561 There were 1000's of other choices. The pattern is too small and too quickly formed to make a full pattern. The line at the front should be even not in a wave, The smallness of the pattern extenuates this flaw.
Hello from Chile, I've recently taken the hobby of furniture restauration and found a telephone token from Brazil, old coins and things, I try to get as much tips from the experts as o can, love to watch salvage hunters.
Fabric made from scratch…….that hasn’t got to to be cheap 😬 Fingers crossed 🤞 Drew will find others that need that same design and Drew can draw royalties from it👍🙂 Smart investment in fabric 😊
The upholstery guy apparently works for cheap. Work and cost of fabric would be at least 700 pounds in Czech Republic if talk in its low end. Cant imagine selling this for mere 1000 pounds.
So many traditional hand skills are being lost these days as they do not teach them in schools any more .I hope Craig passes his knowledge, understanding and craft on to the next generation by taking on an apprentice.. You done an excellent job on a piece of furniture which was ready for the skip.
Cheap looking printed fabric on a piece like this? Totally inappropriate. They should have used a richly colored damask or brocade, a twisted cord around the edge of the seat, and a pleated fabric(say velvet in a contrasting color) under the cord, called ruching-finished off with a coordinating gimp. The buttons should be done in the same color as the ruching. 6" bullion fringe hanging down from the arms would have been a nice finishing touch. Ticking as he called it is for mattresses and pillows not rosewood furniture.
This is the part I really love. Drew buys 'em, the craftsmen do their wonderful work! Magic! XXX
Craig is one of the best parts of this show. Cheers!
Lovely! I like the fabric and the understated finishing. Simple is better, sometimes.
Beautiful, Craig!!
I would have used teal velvet to make the new upholstery, and only use Drew’s patterned fabric to make accent pillows to go with it.
The piece looks stellar in situ, but I really would have preferred "ticking" with a larger pattern on it. The rosewood frame is to die for.
That fabric is a joy to see.
A great piece but it looks unfinished with no gimp or braid to cover the nail heads.

I just finished writing the very same thing, and then started reading down the comments. Still maybe he should see it twice.
Wanda Allmond. The letter is beautiful!
Very interesting and educational. Enjoyed watching.
David Brent of the antiques world.
Wow! Wow! Wow! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Hmm...not to my tastes. Great job, would just choose a different print (and rebuild the back).
Rebuilding the back was my first thought too. There have to be examples they could have used to recreate it.
Fantastic job.... I LIKE it!!!
Somehow i just dont like new fabric on an antique piece of furniture.
Would you have preferred it the way it was? There was no other choice.

The upholstery job is a bit crazy
It is beautifull.
I like the ticking, but I don't like it on this piece of furniture.
It's just material. Saying it's a bit "crazy" is a bit strong. Not really a word people use in every situation they find unusual.
I pictured this in a lush emerald green velvet 😍

Great job perfect....
Such a handsome man is Graig ..

Same in UK, but in TV land they dont tell you that!
That rosewood frame is makes it worth repairing it.
COOOOLLLL!!!!

The visible tacs is terrible. It needs a fringe around it
I am not fond of the pattern, I would have preferred a rich coloured fabric, plush and lush,
A mask who knows what is lurking in there.
brilliant
That poor man ripping off that upholstery, should be wearing a mask to do that job. Breathing that in can NOT be good for him. WEAR A MASK!
I'd change the fabric design. Velvet perhaps.
............ARTE..........
È venuta proprio bene 👍🙌🎉
Now we have all the experts commenting. If you know so.much how is it you're not working for Drew?

Sod the antiques drew needs a Complete Makeover including Character - IMPOSSIBLE!
Big up too zippy
Is that Kentucky fried ticking Drew 🤔🤔
The fabric they had made didnt suit the final piece at all, i dont know what they were thinking.
So why was it missing welt around where it was tacked? it shoudlve had welt but looks unfinished.. plus that fabric is ugly.
💚🤘
ive seen better the materiel is hideous even on the printer it looked lighter and the sample more bolder.
1,000 Pounds? Yeah right
Oldbbull not wearing a mask 😷
