I'm tuning my DT770 and I found that the most problematic point of it's design is the acoustic cancellation issue. If you put a thin rubber / plastic ring inside (inner dia ~50mm, outer dia 80mm), you will get more than 6dB lower range extension below 100Hz and sligthly less hectic jumping in higher frequencies. Worth to try...
@@aldomolinari1441 I've used thin polystyrol foam and tried soft PET and PP sheets as well. They gave not much difference to the sound quality but insulation... I made some further changes and tests. Now, I remved all the crown, and other elements and used only soft cottonwhool in the shell. This gave me about the same frequency and audio quality and experience as the DT1990 Pro.
We should all keep in mind that this experiment has compounding effect in that we are listening to the characteristics of the unit while being affected by another layer of characteristic from our unit. Also I there are many variant of this Model I think this is 250Ohms and depending on your output headphone amp the drivers will also be reacting to that.. In mixing you just have to listen to great quality music and really familiarize yourself with it to make proper decisions.
dt770 pro X - sounds like shit because of ugly painful high tones, however dt700 pro with this same speaker but other sound tuning sound great, if you have 250 USD to spend on headphones buy dt700 pro
@@techroom6701 I monitor vocal when recording in my studio, dt 770 is a little stronger in bass & treble , compared to other consumer earphones in market
using my Tinhifi P1 max, even quite similar, but overall sounding of the DT770 pro a lil bit muffled, than the original..and the staging not as wide..closed sounding.. great content, again..keep up the good work...
I bought these headphones a year or so ago and was sorely disappointed in their performance. My audio technicas seem to outperform these on a DAC in pretty much every measurable way. At least for my ears.
@@RealRedDragon I did but I also have a Cambridge audio dacmagic 200m. The audio Technica headphones I purchased after these headphones sound much better for closed back headphones for my ears anyways. I thought I got shipped Chinese knock off DT770 pros but when I returned them they went back to the factory and they ensured me the headphones I had been shipped were legit. Is there some break in period for the driver's maybe I was unaware of? Typically I like to take something out of the box and use it. I have a pair of mid range senheiser had 250's that sound better than the DT770s I got. I'm not sure. I still think I was shipped duds.

must be because it's closed back. it losses some of the air
I agree. They sounded a bit muffled to me as well and i seeked the comments to see if others had the same impression.
I feel the DT 770 muffled than the original too.
At 3:00 when there is the switch from original to dt 770 pro I hear a blip in my 770. Is that normal?
yes. it happened in editing process (switching from one truck to another). Have a Great Time!
This channel should get way way more views and subscribers. I hate channels that tries to describe sounds. They waste too much of peoples time.
Hi! Thank you for the positive comment! :) Have a Nice Time!! :)
he uses eq and modification of the headphones to deliver an inaccurate sound test!! this channel is a waste of time!
What variant is this? Impedance?
250 Ohm

I added one layer of paper towel and EQ. It made a difference. I use some EQ to all Headphones.
Maybe they need more power , did you bought the 250 ohm version?
