The ONLY exception I could imagine is if those kind of boundaries are already established (this is still consent btw don't assume you have those kind of boundaries if it's not been established yet). As someone who tried this mindset in school ("maybe if I'm random I won't be bullied and I might find a gf"), I'm now having to rebuild my notion of personality and undo a lot of rather silly (if not outright creepy AF) habits. The entitlement, the thirst for validation and how openly I showed my loneliness all crippled me socially (especially when trying to make friends). It messed up my self esteem and left me feeling like I was farmed for the other person's clout. I started going to therapy, taking my meds and studying stoicism. It's been a few years, but I'm happier now that I'm undoing some of the more... Egregious habits and reflexes. I.e., following any of this program is not worth it and will isolate you from the very people you are trying to grow closer with.

As someone who tried this mindset in school ("maybe if I'm random I won't be bullied and I might find a gf"), I'm now having to rebuild my notion of personality and undo a lot of rather silly (if not outright creepy AF) habits.
The entitlement, the thirst for validation and how openly I showed my loneliness all crippled me socially (especially when trying to make friends).
It messed up my self esteem and left me feeling like I was farmed for the other person's clout. I started going to therapy, taking my meds and studying stoicism. It's been a few years, but I'm happier now that I'm undoing some of the more... Egregious habits and reflexes.
I.e., following any of this program is not worth it and will isolate you from the very people you are trying to grow closer with.
