      Look at the price difference between the two trans. Then look at the average price for a transmission swap. Then multiply that number by the number of MT-82 owners. That’s not good business bro🗣😂

      yup T56 tremec 6 speed quick time bell housing, change the clutch size done. i would take a t56 on the house for Fords stupidity on manufacturing.

      My MT82 (2013 5.0) has been essentially flawless. It's the stock clutch I hate and that plastic clutch line. I'd rather have a Ben Calimer MT82 stg 3 with the G-force gear set. Handle way more power than the Tremec.

    Wow I knew the gears felt clunky early winter mornings in my manual transmission... and I have had to get my 5.0 gears replaced once haven’t had a problem since then... keep me updated!

    I see alot of us have the same issues.
    in regards to high rev lockout - I also see many people saying u must swap the clutch to remedy this. I thought the same. until I did the following which is 90% cheaper then swapping clutch
    -trans to body bushing/bracket
    -trans bushing that goes into the void above trans brace.
    -fluid swap. I chose bg synchroshift due to all the positive feedback
    those 3 things cured the lockout and on daily commutes, shifting feels like a dream. even when it's cold it feels good. many people will say to replace your clutch line - that is a great point. I have yet to do it since the lockout was cured from the items above and I dont do back to back runs. if you do your pedal will likely become different as the fluid heats up and thats from the garbage line Ford uses. also the car doesnt go on the strip, road course only. so if any of this relates to you try it out. I realize these are all band aid fixes but for now it works for me.

    As a die hard manual guy when I bought my 2013 I opted to get a 6R80 car because of all the MT82 issues. Kinda sucks but I didn’t want to have to build my transmission just for some spirited driving and an occasional track day! Hope Ford actually does something about it

    2015 FBO manual GT w/ 58k miles, I experience lockout at high rpms, but waiting on the clutch to go out to upgrade and hopefully remedy some issues.

    I have a 2012 5.0 with the MT82. Living in East TN where it will drop below freezing for atleast a week the shifter feels really notchy and kinda feels like the clutch doesnt want to engage at times. I hope something good does come out of it for the people that have sunk money in the transmssions for breaking them with stock power.

    I just bought a 2011 GT/CS 6 speed manual. Firstly how do I know what trans I have? Secondly sometimes my shifter catches or its a pain to get in reverse. I have a aftermarket shifter, could that be an issue?

    During spirited driving I ALWAYS got locked out of 3rd gear (grinding). I bought a $500 MGW shifter (awesome piece) and it has fixed all the lockout issues. I am stock, but I am afraid once I go boosted that 4th gear won't be able to handle the extra power.

    I drive a manual 2014 Mustang too and this makes me more cautious about doing hard pulls now, my car barely has 55k miles on it and sometimes I have to give it a little nudge whenever I shift to 2nd or 3rd.

    Almost bought a 2019 Bullitt 5.0 leftover
    Took 2 test drives. Very sweet. But right
    Before the purchase deal, I put the brakes on. Scotty gave a heads up and then I checked the tsb was it. Maybe 2021 if the still make the 5.0.

    Getting some money would be nice but I would rather have them fix it. Mine wines really loud. Some times when I shift fast it will catch the clutch wrong and feel a loss of power. Clicks and grinds a lot. Especially from 1-2-3 some times to 4th as well.

      Exactly , just the clutch is my issue. High rpm lockout BUT sometimes it does shift at high rpm fast. Driving a manual mustang from 2013 I feel the pain when my car won't go into gear because of lockout... Makes everybody think I can't shift and its embarrassing

      Cj Cullar so it’s not just me, the other day it acted like it won’t let me go Into 5th gear? I was just having fun on the highway a few weeks ago. I never have beat it up it’s a 2013 track pack.

      Same here..low or high rpms my 2nd gear seems to grind coming from 1st to 2nd gear..so i just start on 2nd from a stop. Im afraid i might grind it..smh

      mike mercado Wow! I thought it was just me. I experience the same thing when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. I have been using 2nd gear as well. It seems like I have to let the car warm up for it to not be so hard to put it in gear. Miner is completely stock and I got it used with only 17,000 miles on it.

    Manual, 2017 Mustang GT Premium. I got my car used and I was not aware of this issue but I've been noticing little issues with the transmission here and there since I've had the car. I converted from a Camaro to a Mustang so I'm very disappointed on knowing this now.

    I drive a 2014 manual with 139,000 miles. Still run's strong but I do have some issues with premature wear on the clutch.

    Hey Jacob, Its definitely an Interesting turn off events, but not too surprising, I remember Honda had a class action lawsuit against them back in 2006 with their 1994-2004 transmissions failure either before or right out of warranty.
    As you said in your video, you shouldn't have to go through that much changes/upgrades just to prevent your MT-82 from further issues, though it good to have, but still. I only put a Barton shifter/bracket on my 2012 5.0 cause I hated the sloppy feel, and If you noticed on the stock shifter bracket, It was extremely flimsy/cheaply made so no doubt this was plan on a budget, a ridiculous budget.
    I guess they'll extend the warranty on the later cars, or compensate somehow, but hopefully something good will come to light with this.

    Great video man I have a 14 GT pretty much stock just cold air and exhaust it is a six speed manual. Please make sure and make a video if they do recall. I would love to have the upgraded training put in it. It will grind going in second gear sometimes at high rpm out of first.

    2018 Gt premium with manual.
    And with only around 12K miles having issues with missed shifts and grinds due to the extreme notchiness. Bad enough on the street, but could cause havoc during a track day.

    I’ve been trying to buy an 18+ GT but this issue in particular is keeping me on the fence, I’m not an aggressive driver at all but I don’t want my transmission to have issues and then having to pay out of pocket, even been considering the auto since I know they’re really fast on 0-60’s but I love manual though

    My 2014 GT is an auto cause it's my daily driven car, pretty painful for me to stuck in work traffic with a manual every day lol. Traffic in Vancouver gets pretty brutal sometimes.

    I have a '12 GT/CS w/manual trans and I have always had an issue under hard pills going from 1 to 2 and/or 2 to 3. BTW...I totally recognize where you got on 50. I drive that area a lot.

    I’ve had a 2018 ecoboost manual and now a 2015 GT with a manual and the only issue I had was getting locked out of 2nd and 4th every now and again. But great video bro! You earned a sub. Also, what’s that mount? I definitely need one of those 😂

    I live in az, we dont even really get close to cold weather and i still get super notchy shifts & even sometimes cant even go into 1st or 2nd randomly, then i have to go back to netural let off the clutch and shift back in. let us be blessed with tremecs lol

    I’ve been looking for videos with more details on this. My 2017 GT I’ve had issues with the shift fork. When I switch into 2nd and 4th, there is harsh vibration and it hurts my hand. Another time when I downshifted it kicked really bad even though I matched rpms perfectly. Damn man now I’m really worried if my car will blow up lol

    Have a 2015 v6 mustang, at 40k miles I had my transmission go out. (Stuck in 1st). Took it to the ford dealership, and got screwed over. They first said 140 to take a look, I would get money back if it was under warranty. Then they said they would have to take transmission apart, if it was under warranty it would be covered, but if not it would be almost 2k to rebuild (not fix). So I got stuck with paying 2k just to build it back or 4k+ for a new transmission and have it fixed. They said "shift shaft stuck, shift lever jammed in between shift rails. Damage to 1st and 2nd gear and synchronizers"

    I’d like a new transmission. I have the 14 GT/CS. Right out of the gate my MT-82 was super rough. Mine likes to lock me out of 2nd and 3rd and I rarely drive it hard.. Also wasn’t even aware of the issues the MT-82 has..

    I've got a black '12 GT that I bought at 109K miles and the only issue I've really had is some notchiness on the 1-2 shift when it's cold. I live in Jersey and bought it in February so I'm feeling a good improvement now that it's warmer. I've got a Barton shifter I still need to install but it's been tough to do things with the Covid stuff going on.

    Where did you get those seatbelts? Link please I had a mt82 in my 17 Ecoboost didn’t have any issues till I traded it at 17500 miles on it. Now I have a 19 GT still no issues but I have heard of them. Mine seems to like high rpm shifts. Would have been really nice to have the Tremec trans.

    Manual, 2014 GT Premium - I think ford should give a transmission upgrade, however i think its much more likely for them to either give out 3-4k for users to do with what they want or for them to completely rebuild it. (mind you im at 30 000 miles and no issues so far)

    19 GT stick love it and yeah sometimes I have problems with trying to go into 3-2 and 6-4 when downshifting. Some times 3-4 other then that still love the car. Shoot I be happy if they payed me. I just buy more parts with it xD

    Sounds more like a clutch issue at the stock power range for the 5.0. Its well known that the clutch is very poor from factory and once you replace it, all the problems go away. once you start making over 450hp wheel, then the trans starts goin.

    I have a 2013 Mustang GT with the Track Pack. I have the manual MT-82 Trans. I have never had an issue with it (knock on wood). Now I understand there might be some ways to get money. However, I know a Mustang guy that rides his clutch and speed No-Lift Speed shifts. This is the user problem and my guess he will blame this as the transmission fault. As for the shifter, I changed it with the Barton Short Throw Shifter. Now I do agree the Getrag is made in CHEAP ASS China! But so far I have not any issues and I am the original owner bought new. As for me selling my Mustang NO Way! KEEP ON ROCKING!

    I have a 2020 gt with the 6 speed and i have had issues with the clutch staying half in when i take my foot completely off and it doesnt want to come up until im slowing down to 2500rpm on the high end 1500 at the low end

    I bought a used 2011 ford mustang gt with a manual and 1st and 2nd both are hard to get into gear no matter the temp. I changed the trans fluid to the bg synchroshift 2 and it honestly didn't seem to smooth anything also I have a stock clutch and it's super easy to depress compared to a 2013 that also had a stock clutch but it does fully disengage the clutch from the flywheel

    I have abused the mt82 a lot, downshift from 3 to 2 going 7k rpm, 3k launches with drag radias and shit and it has held really good with 109k miles

    This is interesting. I've been complaining to my local Ford dealership about the crazy notchiness of my MT82 in my 2018. It annoys the crap out of me. They just say they couldn't replicate it. LOL

    I drive a manual and already had the shift forks replaced under warranty, now the 1st gear syncros are gone and I need to get another rebuild (out of my pocket) or do a TR6060 swap. 2013 GT Premium

    My girl and I both drive 2014 'Stangs w/ 6 speed manual transmissions. Both have issues with shifting lockout and clutch issues. Mine is currently getting a new clutch. My girl's is next in line for the same. Thankfully mine is still under Premium Care Warranty, so cost is only $100. Sadly, hers is not, so repair will cost significantly more.

    11 gt manual. Change the fluid to ams oil blowfish bracket. Stainless clutch line. Mines notch sometimes and whines like crazy. I’m in Canada so hopefully something come here to help us out up.

    This is the man reason I went with an Auto 5.0. I didn’t want to deal with the unreliability of the MT82. The Automatic transmissions are tanks. My car is at 110k miles and still running like an absolute champ.

      My 2011 mt82 109k miles and i have abused it and no problem

      That's low mileage for most cars lol. If it dosen't last 200k, it's not worth having.

    Literally just got my car back last Friday! I didn’t have my ‘13 5.0 for a little over 1 month...my second gear started going which eventually lost everything, car was still under warranty but that shit still sucks

    I don’t have a 5.0 yet. But I’m getting one soon! I think they should just swap out the transmissions for the better ones! It’s just a piece of mind

    2012 Black Mustang GT with the MT-82. Wishing Ford allows a swap to the Tremec too. My cars has only 17,000 miles and it has its typical issues.

    I have a 13 gt with the mt82 and in the mornings it is un happy with the gears and i have an aftermarket clutch and roush short throw shifter, got the car as is w those parts but looking to go for mgw because i get locked out of 1-2 when launching hard and rarely will miss 2-3 but its happened twice, im looking to get a tr6060 to save trouble down the road

    Have a 2017 6 speed 9000mi 5 gear gone.have the extended warranty.but don't think I should have to pay the deductible.wondering if u have any updates?

    I have a manual trans in my 2017 Mustang GT. I think Ford needs to make this right, and I don’t like having Made in China parts in my American Mustang. I never knew about the transmission issues until after I bought the car. I noticed the clutch slippage and the jurky take offs but thought it was part of breaking in the new parts. I bought the Mustang used with only 900 miles on it.

    Manual 2017 GT here and I feel the thud every now and then when shifting into 1st. I don't have problems at high rpms thankfully! But I think Ford should either send everyone money or fix it when the transmission dumps on you🤷🏾‍♂️... My 2 cents

    I recently bought a 2015 Mustang GT manual transmission with 47K miles and I’m getting my 2nd gear replaced, I believe the owner before would jam the gears pretty hard and I only was able to drive it for 2 weeks , it would grind going into 2nd and downshifting from third and It would go into gear but as I let go of the clutch it would grind and not not me keep it in 2nd

    Owned 3 MT82 Mustangs! 14,17 and 18 only one that gave me trouble was the 18 with the aluminum shift forks. Everyone trying to sue ford for the 11-17 is funny. I know several people not having issues. But guess what all of this with the fact that the autos are being bought more will probably lead to the S650 not having the manual option!!

    14 gt/cs manual all day everyday only for me. I have changed clutch flywheel, pilot bearing, slave cylinder, braided pressure line, Shelby iso reservoir, dual clutch atf (called Amsoil they said they highly recommend motocraft dual clutch not to use Amsoil, that came from Amsoil) I’m an authorized Amsoil dealer. I run Amsoil gear oil in diff with friction modifier. I have OG Barton shifter & bracket with shifter rubber gasket to reduce NVH. Have diff gear oil been venting out due to high oil temps since brand new. I also run a driveshaft shop 1 piece DS all arp bolts have thousands dumped into my driveline

    I didn't know till after I bought it... What shifter do you get??? I am looking at the MGW now.. I hear that the Barton is noisy though.. Then I hear the same thing about the MGW.. I really don't know... ???

    2018 manual gt with a broken mt82. And after so many times bringing it in the flagged my warranty blaming it on “street racing” even though it’s stock other than sparco seats.
