@@stairwaytoheaven8 @Literallymefr I haven't read the boys in awhile so apologies if this is wrong but I don't think that's right. And Stillwell showing the girl i dont think it really changes anything they probably still would've raped starlight, he was never a good idea
I actually like this twist because it presents the idea that homelander could have been a good person but was gaslit into thinking he was evil until he became a villain
@@squirrel_slapperNah the twist is pretty good tbh, even if I like the show version of Black Noir I’d say the comics made his character pretty interesting.
That’s why I found Homelander’s story to actually be a tragedy. He WANTED to be good, he had the potential to be exactly what he was portrayed as by Vought. If he weren’t deliberately made insane he could/would have been, well, Superman I guess-a truly upright and righteous individual
@@Diabrolo But bro isn't that psychotic. Mustacheo's goal was to turn earth from the inside, he had to do "some" kills as an alternative to mass genocide from his superiors. (damn, Homelander is just a manbaby psychopath who happens to be the strongest of his verse)
In the show, I always imagined that they would not kill Homelander and instead he would loose his powers and end up working at a fast food restaurant like McDonalds. Just imagine him boxing up happy meals as he picks up a Homelander kids toy and a tear rolls down the side of his face 😂
This was the first time homelander fought someone on his level and lost spectacularly. How anyone thinks he could beat someone like super man or Omni man is ridiculous.
True. Thats why BN was assigned to kill him. HL had no actual fighting experience and merely used his superhuman strength and speed to kill any normal humans, thus making a slightly less durable clone with less abilities but similar strength and speed, it was easy fight. Also yeah, HL gets clapped by most real heroes, Omni Man could destroy planets and entire realms in days and Superman can end universes with a clap. No fight, just death.
what point is there to compare them to each other they are from different universes we haven't seen them go against similar threats to scale them and Superman just by having the oldest publication history will have more feats of power to his name he is the more developed and the other two maybe could do things that he did but their stories don't go that way and are not supposed to especially homelander
@@eskithejetski We have more than enough info to compare them. Butcher pries his skull open with a perfectly normal crowbar. Superman eats supernovas for breakfast. Omni Man nukes worlds with his own body. If you tried to break superman's skull with a crowbar, even with super strength, the crowbar would break first. Omni man, maybe you could do that, but omni man can heal most injuries. Homelander was worried about nuclear response. Omni man got hit by a space laser that could nuke a city. Twice. The only part we have no 100% accurate data on is homelanders laser vision and how strong he can make it. But considering omni man flew into a city destroying laser, and turns himself into a nuke, he can probably tank it. Again, more than enough data.
@@tristanlambert658 Superman? Nah bro. Superman may act like a punk from time to time, but that's mostly just an act. Almost every version of superman has eaten attacks recorded to be the same level as a super nova exploding in his face. They all also possess that same super speed(That he never uses for some reason). His biggest enemy is a literal avatar of a UNIVERSE, basically a GOD invading another universe. Which he regularly beats. 90% of all the superman versions would body homelander the second they put any effort into it. It's just the fact superman refuses to ever put effort into things due to lazy and inconsistent writing(granted I would get lazy if I had to balance a God for a tv show).
Hughie: "Now that Homelander is dead and you've had your revenge, that means you'll stop killing supes now right?" Butcher: "..." Hughie: "That means you'll stop killing supes now... right?"
@@jin_cotl because pictures surfaced of homelander eating babies and brutally killing people. Homelander became crazy because he didn’t remember doing those horrible things so he decided to embrace it and become evil. Until it was revealed to be black noir the whole time
He was still kinda crazy because he wasn’t raised right obviously and because of that black noirs plan worked. Homelander never had a regular life just a lab of painful tests
He may have had no battle experience but even if Noir killed him in the end, Homelander disemboweled him, tore off one of his arms, blew out half his face including an eye. Although he ended up losing to him, he left him so seriously injured that he was easily finished off by the butcher and the military.
I love how in the second picture Homelander says "Look at that, he did have brains after all." And then later Billy pulls out the brains of Black Noir. A clone of Homelander.
Friendly reminder to all the people feeling bad for Homelander that he still did a lot of messed up and depraved sh*t. Him, Noir and A-train still "hazed" Starlight, for example. He wasn't gaslit into being a monster. He was gaslit into being MORE of a monster.
@@AimForMyHead81 dang. Hot takes here lol. Tho I kind of agree. I love super heroes cause of what they represent but then a bunch of creators basically said hey you know superman? I love when Homelander, a self centered man with a god complex that hates God and Jesus (just look at the family at Believe) says his very name when Black Noir does the big reveal
I mean...I like it. Twist Is unexpected but The Boys comic was never actually just for you to enjoy the book. It's more like a "fuck you" to superheroes
Because the clone is the villain, He manipulated Homelander by doing the terrible stuff and taking picture of himself and giving it to Homelander. But it won't really change a thing about homelander, Man's don't got a choice to make for himself, He was always bossed around by the vought company.
It was more or less causing homelander to have a schizophrenic episode since he would see that "he" did horrible stuff he never did He wasn't good but he wasn't anywhere as bad as what this are him to be
@@miraclediddy4470 This. Homelander was an asshole, but he wasn't a monster. Not at the start, anyway. Black Noir broke him, making him think he was doing all these horrible things and not remembering them. Basically gaslit him until he drove him mad, and Homelander decided to just give in.
@@RaptorJesus yeah really makes you think how far you'd go if you already thought you were monster, maybe you'd do what HL did and see how monstrous you could become before your Daddy(Vought) would tell you to cut it out. Really deep psychological issue with that in mind.

After the season 4 finale I’m both curious and anxious to see how Season 5 of The Boys will end the series? Please don’t end it like it was done in this comic. I’m someone that wants a happy ending but knowing the boys the series finale will not have a happy ending, because Butcher might sacrifice himself to kill both Homelander and all supes in the world (except Kimiko, Starlight & perhaps A-Train? if they can get depowered). And the fact we have to wait for 1.5 to 2 years for the final season to come is painful.
People is commenting without context, it's not like the clone just did those things because reasons, he started doing that because his sole purpose was to be the failsafe against HL, and since HL was doing a good job, he started plotting to turn him crazy, because he was created for something that apparently wouldn't happen, ever, if he didn't do something about it, the clone was fine until he realized that he had a useless purpose, that DROVE him crazy and THEN he started going nuts on people and making Homelander think that he was like that.

Black new ores Shenanigans are what fro come and sent him over the edge. But from my understanding Comics like hero gasm don't show homelander in the good light to begin with
I mean homelanders strong. But he's not actually superman level. A missile would kill him just as easily as it would anyone else.

Homelander has shared scenes with the deep, A-train, etc but never noir.
There’s a reason for that. Plus noir is the only character who’s backstory and true identity is yet to be explored. Their saving noir as the element of surprise for the final. I strongly believe he possesses a hidden ability that he’s yet to demonstrate.
