House #1: Racoons, No Flashing, Existing Damage, poor ventilation, a roofer who did a bad job...sounds like a perfect house new metal roof with wood strapping and 150g waterproof membrane from the Rudan Brothers 😂. (I'd say the Terra Cotta or the Brown)

Skepticism is the norm. It's a sad thing to hear this, but usually someone who has been severely jaded by experience or their own value set. I hope he has his faith restored by the Rudan Brothers!
If I had to choose, I choose the first house for the brand new roof because, according to me, it was who need it the most.
house #3, young, has dogs, children and will probably appreciate the new roof for a lot longer than house #1
@@BlackJeepConvertible I would agree on principle, but I disagree in practicality. Milos himself reported the state of all the roofs and the most in need of immediate attention is the first one. And sure, I agree with the principle that the most promising for the future is not the old lady's.
My opinion is still that we're not here to discuss abstracts or anything long term. Who's to say that the old lady's house doesn't get sold to a young couple in the next few years? It's impossible to decide without being objective, and the only thing objective is the state of the roofs in the present.
Either way, I didn't understand if this is going to be decided by poll or commentary, I hope it goes by poll and I'm glad with whatever the community decides.
I can't agree with you more. Now too many people are homeless. I think the affordable housing launched by the government can solve this problem...... I wonder if it is feasible locally?

For the past 3 or 4 days there has been a "pest control" salesman walking the neighborhood. He gets dropped off & picked up which is odd, he's been rude to people, he's completely ignored the no soliciting signs. I understood where the frustrated guy was coming from. You hate to be that way but let's be honest, door to door sales isn't normally "honest" work. They're trying to upsell you, sell you something you don't really need, whatever.
I most likely won’t come to the door if they had come to my house . It is sad that people don’t trust others but there are scammers around every corner.

Going off of personality, Jason and Marnie seemed the most accepting and appreciative, but the first lady seemed the most in need of your help on the roof. So I’d say go with her.
Good instinct in my opinion, although a logical decision based on the facts presented. I'm going to repeat what I said in a previous comment. However empathetic we may feel towards a family that doesn't immediately need a new roof, but appears to show more promise of growth down the line... that's a gamble. The old lady may sell her house, the younger ones may sell theirs too, even before their roof shows signs of degradation. We should just judge based on the roof and not whomever is living beneath it, otherwise it makes no sense and we end up playing favorites where the "prettiest" (homeowners) win while the ugliest (roof) should win.

What you do is so beautiful, I am a survivor of the twin towers and my husband is a veteran, we are both disabled. How much we would like someone to knock on our door and offer us a new roof for our home. God is really going to bless you in such a way. What you are doing is so beautiful here in Texas I haven't met anyone who does something like that. Even though we are disabled, we serve the community, we give food to the homeless and it is so beautiful to serve the community.
I would like to see the 1st lady Mrs Herman get the new roof. She is the 1 that is in need the most. Thank you so much for everything you do for your community. It's a true blessing ❤

Give the roof to the last house . He was so shocked to get the gutters for free, said he was short on cash but wanted to give you something, so gave you all a beer... They also have a baby coming..and lastly, because the guy next door was so rude and said 'nothing was f*cking free' and shut the door on you, so it would be great for his neighbors to get not only free gutters but a free roof too and he would find out how it was all free and that could've been him ! He would wish he could take it all back...😀
