Lowell Fillmore Dunbar more popularly known as Sly from the pair Sy and Robbie shares is musical journey and story
#TeachDem #Sly #SlyDunbar
Great interview with an absolute living legend. I've never seen Sly Dunbar talk so much in an interview. You can tell how comfortable and relaxed he was. The interviewer was perfect in the way he structured the questions and then allow Sly to speak freely... Good job.
And, This ladies and gentlemen, is how You have longevity in whatever You do. Class, humbleness and remembering the people who help to elevate You. Blessings and Respect to Sly Dunbar.
Humility is the best from this gentleman, a lot of artist think they are some kind of God, remember the fans made you and you need to respect them like mr Dunbar.
That is the personification of Greatness, Humble, Humility here is undoubtedly one of the greatest drummer/producers to come out of Jamaica and he talks with honesty and love of his craft . Big up Sly Dunbar you are great.
Sly Dunbar living legend the taxi sound always stand out for me this one is for the history book Great TEACH blessing

Ladies & Gentle Men The legendary Mr Sly Dunbar . The man memories are so great..He is such an humble individual. Respect Sly it’s awesome that he acknowledges other musicians..I am astonished at how many great artists they had played for.Jamaican to the world 🌍 🌎 🌎 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲Big up Robbi
Parental influence is very important. His mother saw his interest in music and she fosters it instead of dissuading him. One of the best to ever did it and yet so humble. Mr Dunbar has shown us that paying homage is very important. Sly the legend, long live my brother.
Wow! What a profound interview. First time to listen to Sly interview. The man is so humble. I'm very fortunate to have have listened to his albums which I had on vinyls, all taxi albums, Sly and Robbie albums, all black uhuru albums from showcase to anthem including all albums backed by Sly and Robbie. These are the albums we used to play and listened during the height of apartheid in South Africa. Give Thanks to Sly and Robbie and the whole reggae artists and musicians whom played a pivotal role in motivating l and l to soldier with the revolution. Big up to Teach Dem for such educative informative interviews. These are artists and musicians l and l can relate to because l and l started listening to reggae 1977 till to date. Looking forward to Robbie's interview. From the Royal Soldier. All the way from Azania (South Africa) 🇿🇦 ❤💛💚
Teach, I must truly say you are doing a great job with these Interviews.
Thank you so much my brother
Phillip Rose True very professionally done

Teach..this is no ordinary man. Respect for the interview bro
Nuff respect Sly. Still remain humble after all these years despite being a world class drummer...yeah man this brings back memories of our time at Trench town Comprehsive high school where we were in the same class.Remembering 0ur principal Dr. R C Gayle. Great teachers like Mr. MORGAN, MR PACKER, MRS WILSON. Etc. I remember you playing drums on the desk with your ruler and pencil...listening to music from the Duke box playing from the bar across 8th street from our class room upstairs from the new block...yes man, it brings back great memories. Stay humble bredren. Nuff respect and Blessings.
This man is so modest even with his huge achievements......Young hurry come up performers take note.
What a breath of fresh air listening to the great Sly Dunbar. His voice caught me off guard, so soft spoken mild mannered. I've been hearing of Sly and Robbie forever. Their contribution to the music industry is legendary. We appreciate you.
Classic interview 10 out of 10
Thank you
Mr Dunbar ranks amongst the finest musicians globally is as humble as they come, deserves nothing but respect...Teach Dem much respect great interview & reasoning...
This has to be the chillest and deepest interview so far by Teach Dem . You have lived up to your Handle . Sly is very funny if you get him going ,but also very quiet and observant. He would listen in group conversations and jokes & would pumped the breaks if he missed anything,he would then drop in something funny that makes you bust into laughter. We respect him a lot.

@@TeachDem a you start it. Now we are hooked. As Sly say "More Reasonings" not interview. And jus a critique, when "reasoning" with someone like Sly, allow them to flow (you tend to interupt when critical statements are being said). Respect and keep up the good job.
Jah jah . @TeachDem did u got to interview toots
I am glad that he had something good to say about Ken Boothe, my experience although it lasted around a minute was disappointing. Ken Boothe lived around Tenth Street, Sunday evenings he and his lady and a child used to walk along Seventh St. and people would stare and admire he and his family.
By the time I was leaving Trench Town Comprehensive High School, I loaned a friend from Water House my O'Level Biology book but couldn't find him. He always boasted about building jewelry for Ken Boothe and I needed my book. One day on my way home I stopped at Boothe's home to ask where in Water House this guy lived. Boothe and a crowd were sitting around with boxes of Tastee Patties, he was feeding a multitude and thought I was there to beg him a patty. When I called him, he looked at me scornfully, from head to toe. I asked him about the jeweller and he answered with contempt that he didn't know where he lived in Water House. Years later I saw the classmate at the National Stadium and he said he never remembered the book, typical Jamaican thief,he borrowed it and wouldn't return it. This was a side of Ken Boothe his supporters never saw, boasty like hell and feeling superior. Like many artistes he fell prey to cocaine addiction and confessed to it but I am glad he made some money off Wesley Snipe's movie Money Train which used his hit single, The Train Is Coming Baby.
Yeah bro mi like to see more of these interviews of these legendary people 💯💯💯
Sly & Robbie are total legends in Europe I love their style.
Sly and Robbie the two greatest of all time nuff respect.
Thank you for this Teach blessings
You are most welcome my Sister
Father Sly Dunbar is a modest individual. But don't let his humility fool you. His and his partner, Robbie Shakespeare's legend, transcend the four corners of the earth. Back in the eighties, the duo was one of the most, if not the most traveled musician in the history of Jamaica. They were instrumental in the flight of Dancehall in the eighties. Not many people knew them. They were always in high demand abroad. But their names and the sound they produced were anthems.
A most modest man he is
@@TeachDem yow teach a u a di best a dweet rite nuh eno bro
I first listened to Sly on the scientist album-Best dub in the world in about 1981 aged about 7 or 8.
Was my uncles record which I borrowed and still have. I am 50 now and still enjoy those beautiful sounds.
I use to drum to my dads records when I was about 10 years old but never became a musician and can still drum to reggae.
Love Sly's humbleness and photographic memory, very inspiring.Peace, love and blessings from UK
Here is a classy man. Introduced to him by his engineers Garfield & Rory ,it is the same year we met the late Nambo Robinson. They were all so positive, smart and very friendly & caring. Great interview.

Great interview from a stalwart in the music business these men is the backbone of music without men like these we couldn't enjoy the music so much these men have the ideal chemistry for all artists these men must get the credit they deserve i rate these men very highly some people just always giving the vocalist the credit but I tell you this they get almost get a finished product they just need to add the finishing touches but the musicians are most important

2021 fully endorse @teachdem with the growth of the movement and your reasoning skill you can ask for a second interview. I would think many of the artist remember stuff that they would like to add to there story after the interview is finish.
My humble opinion.
Student
Youngsters family
His fingers always move while he talks. He is like a jamaican mozart
Teach this icon, said one of the most profound thing,he said he love the people more than how the people love him, that's why he's so truly blessed,we the people have to mean something for the music and the musicians to prosper.keep doing it teach.
