Pure know...ledge , honestly I wasn't so knowledgeable about Leroy Heptone contribution to reggae music. He is a living legend. Everyone that have been around Clement Dodd speak negatively about him.
He should be honored with the highest musical award and for his input for all his hard work in his musical journey. iconic/ veteran.

Met Errol Dunkley , another fabulous ,humble, sweet ,beautiful, down to earth human being ( Sierra Nevada World Music Festival ) who sat down on the bleachers talking to my wife & I like he knew us. A popular Latin Radio DJ from LA ,came by & asked me if ( thought we were part of Errol’s Management ) asked for permission to interview him. Just Remarkable Elder ..Errol just said yes man !

I think every new school artists need to listen to this right here, that's golden, wow jackie mitto played 3 instruments at once, thats determination, talent, a lot of new schoolers have easy life inna de business today, with so much technology at their hands and still can't wow the audience, nothing special about their beats nor the lyrics or the songs.. Excellent, excellent interview, as usual, Teach. At some point, you should consider sharing these rich historical reasonings with the National archives. I first met Leroy while living and Canada. He came to my brethren's apartment and was playing his guitar. It's as if he went into a trance while playing/singing, one of the strings broke, and he just tuned the five strings and continued playing, as if he was still playing with 6 strings. I was in awe, a real musical genius.
My dad was a blacksmith down a Linstead so I grew up in the shop so I know them sounds deh.

He was the one that okay✅ my song “CONTEMPLATED MIND”, also played that undoubtedly but “LOVERS ROCK BASS LINE” & also he attached his graciously talented voice of unforgettable “HARMONY” to my song, I have a personal love for that man, & his “GOD BLESSED” talent, was bestowed upon him.

Great interview with one of the foundations of the music! Looking forward to as many parts as you can get from the great man.Line up an interview with Horsemouth he has a lot to tell about the history of the music. If I'm recalling accurately I heard Leroy saying that it was around by Ambrook Lane off Hagley Park Road that he was cooling out when Barry came to him with the words for 'Book of Rules. The song was adopted from a poem named 'A Bag of Tools' by RL Sharpe.
Down to Earth . Humble man. Sweet man. Professional. Warm & Approachable & when he found out ( Sierra Nevada World Music Festival ) I am Gambian he lit up & asked if he can visit with me or as he put it “take me to Gambia I’m ready “ just a remarkable human being.

This man is a giant in the history of reggae music not only for his work with Heptones but also for the work he put in when it comes to arranging and playing instruments on some of the great songs in reggae music. Big respect to all the original musicians ( Horsemouth Wallace, Sly n Robbie, Flabba, too many to mention) out there who made the reggae music that we love. Many of them do not receive the publicity, money, etc that they truly deserve.
