  • A quick video showing how to use the AirMaks drain tool as this is a question I have been asked by a few customers now, the tool in BOLD in the list is the one currently in use and all tools used are listed throughout the video.

      Happy to help, I have a few more useful tips for Katran owners lined up :)

    Good morning! I have the Katran Standard (tube) in .177. Shot my first FT match ever with it. It is quite accurate. I just got an FX chrony so that I can begin tuning it. As it came, I am getting about 843 fps average with an FX 10.3 grain for about 16 ft/lbs. I would like to get it up to 18-19 ft/lbs shooting the 10.3 or a 13 grain depending on the accuracy. How would you advise starting the tuning process? Once I get the chrony set up, I'll do a complete shot string at the settings it came with first so that I have a bench mark to work from. Any advice and help would be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Keith

    So that air tube connection to the breech is only retained by that tiny screw?

    • @AirMaksarmsUK
      @AirMaksarmsUK  Рік тому +1

      The 2mm grub screw locates it and along with the 2.5mm grub they together secure the tube, a common arrangement in air rifles, given that the valve exhausts at 90 degrees to the direction of securing the grubs are only needing to secure against the strike force of the hammer, not any sort of compressed air forces like you find on other designs

    Have you started selling the transfer port restrictors to get the shot count up yet? Cheers Martin

    • @AirMaksarmsUK
      @AirMaksarmsUK  Рік тому

      HI Martin, the HETP has been standard fitment in the Katran C 4.5mm for maybe nearly a year now, the full ecotune with regulator adjustment and valve adjustment became standard on all rifles supplied by CDRGuns round about September or October time last year, testing on other barrel lengths and calibres is still ongoing.

    Hi, where I can buy DISCHARGING TOOL for Katran?

    • @AirMaksarmsUK
      @AirMaksarmsUK  Рік тому

      Your rifle should have had one supplied when new, unless your rifle has the latest valve system installed in which case you do not need one as there is a drain port on the underside of the rifle

    Can we convert this to tube into a bottle?

    • @AirMaksarmsUK
      @AirMaksarmsUK  Рік тому

      Yes the Katran rifles are very modular and it is possible to convert between bottle and cylinder and vice versa

    Hi. Does this adjustment work for the bottle version too or is it just the cylinder type?

    • @AirMaksarmsUK
      @AirMaksarmsUK  2 роки тому +1

      Hi, yes the valve is the same on the bottle and cylinder katrans, earlier guns had a different regulator and valve which didnt have this adjustment function so the video on these from AEAC I think shows different internals, if your Katran has the magazine holders in the stock then your internals should match these

      Hello,
      This rifle is part of a tuning experiment I am conducting to improve number of shots per fill, at the time I filmed it the tension was too low and it made the shots inconsistent, this was during an early part of the testing

    Is the valve adjustable?

    • @AirMaksarmsUK
      @AirMaksarmsUK  2 роки тому

      Hello,
      yes, the brass disc with holes in it threads into the valve body, in this case I am turning clockwise to increase the tension on the exhaust valve, please note this is NOT the same as older rifles which I believe were not adjustable as the poppet spring attached to the regulator instead

      @@AirMaksarmsUK could you kindly explain the benefits of having an adjustable valve? Most manufacturers don’t have adjustable valves this is new to me. Thank you :)

      @AirMaksarmsUK  2 роки тому +1

      @@mikecarter4412 Hi Mike, adjustable valve designs are useful for different markets as it allows the manufacturer to set tunes for different power levels efficiently, I am adjusting this one because at the tune the rifle was at it was not consistent for the hammer strike, I needed to increase the hammer strike force for better consistency but not raise the power output, by increasing valve tension it counter acted the hammer spring increase to keep the power output the same
