Hey there... any ideas why a few dozen home models I made won't distribute on a planar surface? The models are low-rez, basically a few steps up from a cube. The surface I want to dsitribute these objects on is a piece of a much larger terrain model. I figure I can copy and separate smaller areas of the larger terrain surface where I want these little houses. (I thought of trying paint distribution, but right now I'd just be happy to get my homes on the surface model). I selected my houses (a few dozen variants), selected MASH network, went to distribution method and selected Mesh. I middle-mouse-button-dragged my cut-out terrain piece from the Outliner into the mesh geo field of the MASH node attributes. The houses are distributing WAY out there in the scene, no where near the geo I selected. I tried simple cubes, all zeroed out, and they wouldn't pop up along the surface of this thing either. Any thoughts?
@@AbeLeal3D I think there's something up with my geo. *NO* idea why. Pretty frustrating. The house models are simple, and I've attempted to zero them out, but they STILL are coming in at different places in my scene. They do not want to accept 0,0,0 positioning. While I can manually place them anywhere I want, using MASH seems to be impossible. So, I'm having to do the manual thing. Thanks though!
ah! yeah one thing it is very important to have the pivot of the houses set at their base AND make sure all the houses are at 0,0,0 (the origin) cause otherwise if they are place at a different position that offset from the origin will be repeated in each iteration inside of MASH
I'm sorry my friend since I am no longer part of nexttut I can not continue that series. But I will relaunch it with an improved workflow with this new brand later ;)
make sure the ground in the bullet system is properly calibrated, you can also add another plane and make it a static mesh object and then remove after you bake the simulation
i see it from somewhere . animation story at the market .man1 go to buy some stuff and he hold about 10coin and give he seller (drop from man1_hand to seller_hand> style ). do u have any idea behind those simulation?
Yeah that sounds like a cool shot. In cases like those you only animate or simulate the dynamics of the scene where the coins fall. In all the other scenes they can be parented to the closed hand or something

Always coming back to your videos when I forget how to do something. Great stuff! Saludos desde Toluca ;)
Thank you so so much! 😊😮
You're welcome!
Good Job,Thanks!👍
Wow.This is really cool.
Thanks!
Is there a way to have it interact with a custom made ground? Opposed to just the flat Bullet Solver Floor?
yes of course, you can add the custom ground as a collider inside the bullet solver
@@AbeLeal3D How?

If that doesnt work you might want to try using BIFROST instead, it has a steep learning curve but it has way mroe control than Mash
I am still waiting for sci -fi character volume 2 ? any idea when you will make it available ?

@@AbeLeal3D will you make it of same character or new one
@@durvankurdama6364 probably new version of Saria, with changes to her face and hairstyle
@@AbeLeal3D any information on date , when you will release it ?
Is there a way to paint mash effects on a surface like a paint stroke (brush)
Yeah you can distribute on a mesh, or an a curve, not sure about a paint stroke but you could definitely paint a mask for a mesh for instance
@@AbeLeal3D thanks for the response, but how do I Paint a mask and tell mash to use the mask for the distribution?
Hi, just curious. If I wanted to animate a coin fall would I need to cache the simulation or I can just render this as is?
You should always cachem that way if anything happens during render time you have the same file to go to, without any variations
@@AbeLeal3D ohh I see. Thank you for the info! Your videos are always so helpful 🙏
Hi ! My pieces don't fall to the ground. They scatter while remaining in the air

wow. it so simply like that? sound really not hard. it just me who haven't understand yet!!! XD
can you make game asset modeling
This coin series is a game asset. Have you checked our premium course? The one with the axe? It's on the description that is also a game asset
i saw that but i like to learn in Maya
@Abe_Leal3D yes it would be great to have a maya course, waiting for it!!!
I think there where 216 coins.
