- I made this video to show you how to get the new Raspberry Pi Camera Module 3 working with Octoprint since you can't use it with the current version of Octoprint available in the Raspberry Pi Imager app! I could not find a video showing how to do it, and it seemed a bit confusing at first, but it is actually pretty simple! Below are the links to every download/site you'll need to get this running! If you are not familiar at all with the basics of installing OctoPrint this video can be helpful, and there are also videos with more detail!
I am not exactly a video editor and I cobbled this together as best as I could, so please excuse the poor quality, I tried my best!
Thanks for watching, and if you have any questions leave a comment!

Haha glad I could help!! I couldn't find a video on this, so I thought I'd make one for the next person!

Thanks for making this, solved my issues i was having.
thanks but when i plug in my pi cam i don't have flux video ca you help me to understand
I dont what you mean by "flux video." Was that a typo or is there some video option I'm not aware of? let me know and ill do my best to help!
Is it safe to update/upgrade?
The given version works. Many thanks!
Mine won’t show the camera what would cause this?
Same problem
Thank you for the video. Would this work on a raspi5?
It worked
This is a great video! I am having trouble enabling pluggins since I got this to work. Any ideas?
Thank you! I’m glad it was helpful
What errors are you getting when trying to enable the plug ins?
And which plug ins aren’t working?
Are you able to install them?
@@DarthTommy it's giving "could not parse output from pip. Originally it was installing the plug-in, but would would not allow me to enable
@@adamwittenberg8906 have you tried restarting your octoprint server?
I would do that, then if it still won’t enable then I’d try uninstalling the plug in, then reinstalling. And see if that helps
@@DarthTommy When I go to restart octopi it says it is restarting, but the server never goes offline like it did previously. So I don't think it is actually restarting
@@adamwittenberg8906 I have also had this issue and have to resort to physically turning off and on again the raspberry pi everytime
Are u some sort of magician? Apart from that, is could be a problem if I update de octoprint?
What lens did you choice 75° or 120° ?
Def 120 greater fov
🥰 Thank you very, very much. The problem is solved
I got RP 4B ? will this work ?
It should! I don’t see why not
So my pi camera module is connected to the pi (I checked this by having it take a picture in the terminal) but when I go to octoprint it does not show up there. I’ve tried a couple things online and haven’t gotten it to work yet
Did you follow all the steps in the video? If so, try to reboot the server and see if the camera detects. Shut it down, unplug it, then plug it back in. Sometimes if you plug the camera in after installing etc. the camera doesn't get detected. Let me know if this works!
@@DarthTommy Yeah I've already got octoprint working but when I go to control I get "Webcam stream not loaded" and "It might not be configured correctly or require authentication. You can change the URL of the stream under "Settings" > "Webcam & Timelapse" > "Webcam" >"Stream URL" If you don't have a webcam you can also just disable webcam support there. Currently configured stream URL: /webcam/?action=stream" I'm not sure what the URL is supposed to be but it seems right to me. I did try rebooting a couple times and disconnecting and reconnecting the camera and nothing has changed this
@@Ayden3D That's exactly what mine is set on. That's odd that it isn't working, I've had that issue but a page refresh usually works for me.
And did you press the power button on the top right and select "restart octoprint"? If this doesnt work, try booting it in safe mode and see if it works. I feel like its a simple fix.
@@DarthTommy Just tried restarting octoprint and in safe mode and am still showing the same error
@@Ayden3Ddid you ever get this to work? I'm having the same problem.
