    You know your playing well when the lead singer is on the floor filming you

    What's most magical to me about your tone is that it's so full, dynamic and with so much clean sustain, but not too overdriven, and no harsh pick attack.

    • @Flat_Stanley

      No harsh pick attack because he isn’t using his pick for a good portion of his playing.

    I reckon if Chris had been around in the 60s and 70s he'd be spoken of today as being in the same company as Page, Beck, Blackmore, Trower, Gilmour, Gallagher, Marino, etc.

      He can play better than most of those

      @@dannyperfect9270 That's debatable of course because it depends what you mean by better. What I meant was that the guitarists I mentioned (and there are others of course e. g. Tony Iommi, Peter Green, Dimebag) are all iconic in their own way as well as being tremendously influential. In a world where there are so many shredders who have bags of technical ability but with little new to say, Chris stands out because of his ideas, his musicality and the way harnesses his very personal technique to express himself. He's an individualist and an inspirational one at that, just like the ones I mentioned
      And Chris, if you're reading this , yes - you really are that good.

    • @guitareMTL
      @guitareMTL 2 місяці тому +4

      Wouldn't say that. When Chris was young, he could already listen to all these guys.but when Gilmour was a young man, there was no Gilmour to copy and learn from...

      I think it could be true…IF he was also in a band that could write great songs. There have and always will be great guitarists but what makes their work truly great and timeless is when it is accompanied with great songwriting, where the guitar elevates the songwriting and vice versa

      @@SandauxBeats Classical P90 pickup is single coil pickup - no noiseless. There are some attempts to make single coil pickups noiseless but that means mostly change in material of magnets or adding somehow second coil which always negatively affect the sound. Nevertheless, once I found a solution - Ulbrick Music NRS. They are making different versions for single coils and P90s. It is some magic earth loop you solder into cave with pots and it removes single coil noise without affecting sound. It is magnificent and I don't understand why this is not yet in every SC guitar :D Enjoy, cheers!

    • @Delzona

      @@SandauxBeats The P90s (VP5) that come in the RSS02T do not produce any noise or hiss. I’ve played my Revstar through my Supra Delta King and my Mustang GTX50 with no issues whatsoever. However, I don’t gig or play in any public places so someone who does will have a better answer than I do. I will said that of the 20 plus guitars that I’ve owned this guitar and my Tele Ultra are the only guitars that I haven’t felt the need to swap out the pickups for something better. The Revstar with its P90s coupled with the 5 way switch and “Focus” switch are pure guitar tone magic!

    I think the lead singer filming you on his phone is a great move while you’re soloing. They so often look like a third wheel at that moment. Signals real interest in that part of the song for the audience and adds to the act as a visual element. Also, bravo on the video idea; it’s so refreshing to hear guitar in a live mix on UA-cam rather than isolated through a modeller in someone’s bedroom. Your dedication to enhancing the whole sound really stands out.

    Blimey, first time I've ever *really* noticed such a difference in tone, even in back-to-back clips. I had no idea you set that Concert so much lower than the Super Reverb (or if the SR's just naturally that bright) so thanks for doing this.
    Even thought it might be a bit confusing in places when you change the settings in the edit *with* the phrases, not during them. Otherwise, you would get to hear the same thing with the band, then isolation, then Concert and then Super Reverb, like you usually do at home.
