He only had one season, but Christopher Eccelston was absolutely fantastic as the Doctor. Why people would skip his Doctor I'll never know...
He was pretty good and I enjoyed him, but David Tennant eclipsed him completely.
@@Juliett-A no, Chris was better
Agreed, better than Tennant, Smith, Calpadi and that bloody woman.
I've just started watching him, I love him
Joseph Rockford she’s a willing stooge to him, and an overrated actress. Sooner their both gone the better.

@@mrwho995 yeah you are right, thanks for the correction!
I think it still creeps everyone out xD
i think it’s the scariest doctor who “villain”
Same! I still hate it!!
Captain jack one of the best characters in Doctor who history
Also His chemsitry with David Tennants 10 th doctor was perfect
Aslam Bakar I think Cassandra and Missy were just.... FANTASTIC
Altho his chemistry with 9 was better as their characters contrasted a lot more - I like David being very comical all the time and being similar to Jack
Jack is just great overall with everyone and I can’t wait for him to meet Jodie!
It's a shame that Thirteen has zero personality for Jack to bounce off.
theDoctorGeneric well with gallifrey destroyed she does has some - again tho she’ll mainly be a bit of a depresso during it all - all tho we don’t need it really, jack is enough for all of them

Doctor, as they're running for their lives: "Don't drop the banana!"
Jack: "Why not???"
Doctor: "Good source of potassium!"

Always pmsl hearing that everytime 🤣🤣
Chris is so underrated
Question is does Jack keep the banana
@@CarlosCastillo-vi1pn because it's a good source of potassium
@@CarlosCastillo-vi1pn He ate it.
It's pretty amazing actually, Bad Wolf basically saw every moment Jack died and resurrected him each time, until she saw the moment in New+ York where he was The Face of Boe and spared him and he had a good death
Shit I never thought of it like that.
Jesus Christ that is amazing. You are a genius!
I saw another theory somewhere that the face of Bow dying coincides with the last date Rose was in his universe
@@JaciintaM that wouldnt make sense tho
I think I remember seeing that it was the face of boe who set up the viewing of earths destruction, so without him rose wouldn’t have had her first date with the doctor.
For all the laughs Jack provides with his incessant flirting and humour, the fact he can instantly flip to such a dark and complex character is amazing to watch
I screamed when I realised it was Jack in the newest episode
Rotsku I screamed so many times jumped for joy I can’t even it’s like seeing an old friend that you haven’t seen in years that you love that contributes so much to doctor who that you never wanna lose because it’s always the doctor and captain Jack Harkness in the tardis it’s like seeing your best friend for the first time in years
Same here
I screamed too. I heard his voice and I was like no way. Then I saw his face and squealed with joy! I really hope we see more of him!!

That was everyone during this scene
*words before disaster struck*
I swear, the "are you my mommy"is scarier than any ghost story
*mummy
CheetaH Nope you're wrong there. It's either mum or mom depending where you live.
This show is from the uk. That kid is from the Uk. He is pronouncing it as mummy so it is mummy
Still doesn't matter. Thats like correcting someone who says realize instead of realise. Both the same word different spelling for different regions.
@@fear_cheetah2079 yeah, its just that mummy to me is a dead, preserved body and that would make it even scarier out of context
11:32 Jack when Martha mentions his old nickname just being like "yup that's normal"
He probably put it under his worry about that later list :D
it's kinda perfect - because if he really becomes the ol' Boe face, he didn't pull that cryptic knowledge out of nowhere, he learned what he was supposed to say all those years ago in this clip :)
You can kinda make out his expressions in this too.
_Face of whut?_
_Aw man_
_Lol this is gonna be awesome_
Yea but technically they're saying "Think what Jack said" since back on the peninsula when they'd talk to him they'd literally call him the "face of Bo", like hey look it's the face of bo! He probably just didn't even think that they didn't know what that was cause it's literally him. And then just forgot about it later :P
Loved it when Doctor Who had a crossover with Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures in "The Stolen Earth"/"Journey's End".
JACK: Might I say looking good, ma'am?
SARAH JANE: Really? Ooh.
HARRIET: Not now, Captain.
Harriet Jones when Jack is around= *mood*
That is still my favourite episode to this day (though fugitive of the Judoon is now close by)
*wHo'S* (pointing) *tHAt?*
-Donna, the only one Jack never hit on
Needed more Torchwood on this, Jack dancing with Captain Jack, reuniting with Captain John, being forced to forget his past to defeat Adam, confronting Grey, saying farewell to Ianto, sacrificing his grandson, and his Doctor/Companion relationship with Angelo.
Deathlygunn Torchwood is a separate show to Doctor Who. And is also much darker in places. The BBC wouldn’t want to advertise a show made for adult audiences to any of the younger fans
For the last time, *they can only compile previously uploaded clips*
There a Torchwood UA-cam channel that has been uploading clips recently (In good quality too!)
that's also way past the last clip. hopefully they have a second part
@@nightowl8477 certain clips though like Jack dancing with Jack and reuniting with John have been uploaded already, so would have been viable.
Captain Jack needs to return for the 60th anniversary of DW with Smith and Capaldi too since they don’t meet him, well Capaldi kind of did but he was some other character in Torchwood series 3.
Trust me, that would be one awkward meeting. Best not to touch Jack with the 12th Doctor. 11 though, absolutely!
@@anealingfeeling5356 I actually think it would be quite funny with 12th. We've had enough of 11th already.
@@Alagboriel Torchwood series 3
Erika Fiore I feel like if Jack and Capaldi’s Doctor were to meet, it’d bring out the deeper or more serious side of Jack. The depressed part of him that craved death- like you see in Torchwood. Different than the hyper sexual, carefree Jack you see in Who. It’d be a nice pairing honestly. A good heart to heart- like what they did in Utopia, except Capaldi’s Doctor may handle it differently than Tennant’s.
@@soog8080 Actually this makes him meeting the 12th Doctor better as there are some lines in season 3 of Torchwood that reference future moments in 12 (“he was a good man” for example).
I wished that this contained more "important" scenes to do with Jack. Like his first scene the 'dance' scene. Not just scenes he happen to be in.
Like in the final episode of season 1 where it's just him trying to get people to help defend, that is one of the only scene that is just jack doing something he believes in by himself
I think they're trying to give new people a vague idea of who Jack is, *without* spoiling anything.
Honestly, it's too specifically and almost universally *not* important scenes they picked, for it to be an accident.
This is all flavour, and no substance, so "go watch series one and two of New!Who yourself, baby Whovian, hope this wetted your appetite! Adults-for-whom-thirteen-is-your-first-Doctor might be interested in Torchwood, but we'll be slyer about that so it goes over the babies heads (and we have less rights to and thus profit from that but shhhh)."
@@jessielefey that actually makes a great deal of sense
I've never noticed 10 say "You're an impossible thing, Jack." before but that sounds like a line we should talk about more often
Captain Jack Harkness deserves the Christmas gift of 2 Female Doctors after being out of who for 9 years.
Edit : What happened between him and Alonso ? We need to know if they hit it off or not after the bar ?
Are you familiar with Big Finish Productions? They explain that in their series The Lives of Captain Jack :)
@@themozARTgroupie Yes I am and i do apologise i forget to mention i meant in the TV series. I know the big finish adventure but the lives of captain Jack is set after the parting of the ways till they meet again in Utopia I believe
@@thelasttimelord7550 Umm... are we talking about the same thing? Big Finish explores a *lot* of Jack's life, both before and way after his DW appearances (well - until now) but... I literally meant there's an ep dedicated to his evening w/ Alonso! And since you were asking, I assumed you didn't know?
@@themozARTgroupie ok well ,for somebody that is not familiar with big finish productions , and appreciates your comment a lot, what is the lives of captain jack? Episodes? Audios?
@@user-rc2gy5ik5n Audios! Big Finish does very high-quality audio dramas for many shows, but especially Doctor Who and virtually *everything* associated w/ it. You can't get enough of your favorite character?? Chances are, they have tons more adventures courtesy Big Finish!
And the same goes for Jack - TLoCJ only has two volumes (each w/ 4 stories) so far but there are *tons* of Torchwood stories available (35 hour-long ones out, 13 more currently announced to come, and a small bunch of multi-hour long specials!!) - even official (!!!) new season!! I can give you links, ONE SECOND
Captain Jack is honestly one of the best companions in New Who history.
The Face of Boe twist still puts a huge smile on my face.
Why cut out all the best bits? The end of The Doctor Dances, Boom Town, his death in Parting of Ways, him running after the Doctor in Utopia, his scene in the radiation chamber talking about his immortality, theres so much more!
They're risking a lot by showing these in the first place, they can't remind everyone how good he and the show really used to be! The utopia clip especially was really risky as they stole a lot from that episode and series recently.
Alex Saunders what did they steal from Utopia?
For those who have never seen it I guess I see how they can like it if they can get past the political correctness in season 10 and 11 (not seen much of 12 so idk how bad that is).
@@Rob_Champion "but that's a compact laser deluxe! Where were you hiding that?"

I'm so glad he's back, always been a favorite. I've wondered if he's ever crossed paths with Ashildr at some point in time.
Probably not as Moffat would not want that.
Why ashildr couldnt be the little girl who dont age in torchwood the one with the tarot cards
I mean ok its not the same actress and she is a little bit younger but in the chronology it works
didnt ashildr say at like the end of the universe she never met him?
"He'll get round to you eventually"
As crap as ashildr was that would have been better telly than chibbaker who
And now Captain Jack has TWO female Doctors to flirt with. I’m sure he’s fantasized about this before.
True
Ben Wasserman I hated that twist
And he already kissed the third one.
Two docs of any gender fits that wonderful man's fantasies

Penelope Wilton is pretty incredible. Love her in Shaun of the Dead and Afterlife
Rose: "and I was here first"

Oh god no, I dread to think what Chibnall would do to Jacks character

Sarah Jane: Am I a joke to you?
Jack takes "playing dead" to a whole new level.
So they call this Captain jack's story, yet they miss all of torchwood s2, his goodbye after parting of the ways, torchwood CoE & MD, and 10 saying goodbye to jack pre-11.
you don't need to tell me what a great character Captain Jack Harkness is. I love that guy. I am also quite charmed John Barrowman.

Jack and Ianto were the cutest couple of Torchwood's whole show!
I just noticed they play a remixed version of doomsday when the doctor begins to regenerate in the stolen earth
They hark back to it with a little motif yeah not a whole remix
Another example where doomsday is heard elsewhere is the "singing" that plays, it is first played in the very first episode where rose steps into the TARDIS for the first time

@@Aqib2 They have to be careful not too promote Torchwood too much, what with this channel being aimed at family audiences, and therefore some kids, whereas Torchwood is a very 'adult' show...
Also, especially TW seasons 3 and 4, Jacks best moments from those two seasons tended to be pretty dark...
There’s a separate channel for Torchwood clips
Fuck miracle day
i saw torchwood before i knew about doctor who. my mind was blown later when jack appeared in doctor who
He remains as a most beloved character and John is kind and handsome. He's also a great hugger.
Captain Jack is my favourite companion. I'm glad he came back for series 12
Nobody :
The doctor :Dramatically puts a stethoscope on a cellphone
If you doubt that Jack is the Face of Boe, just consider that, after Billions of years of life, all he needed was The Face. The body withered away, and was discarded. He became something beyond human, something brilliant, something beautiful. Something completely new. The Face of Boe.
Literally the best surprise 😊❤ I absolutely love Captain Jack xx Thanks so much for bringing him back 🤗🤗
the episode with the gas mask always gives me chills
To me, Jack was & always will be my absolute favorite companion.
For Utopia it should've been the scene where Jack talks to the Doctor about his immortality and being an anomaly
A 21 minute video on Captain Jack Harkness? I salute whoever made this
Thank you for these thrilling clips.
Oh my captain jack Harkness I have missed you
I needed this collection so Badly!
Now the next time any of you have something negative to say about Steven Moffat, remember that he is responsible for some of the best things to come to the Doctor who universe.
Just a few of the things that he did.
Got a new contract to allow the show to continue to series 12 from series 7. He created Captain Jack Harkness, Dr. River Song, the Weeping Angels, Amy Pond, Rory Williams, Madame Vastra, Jenny, Strax, Clara Oswald
I was so happy when I heard that Captain Jack voice on Sunday and when he appeared I was grinning from ear to ear 😊
I love Jack!!
Jack is the modern version of the Brigider...
Shows up in several eras - Brigider: 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 7th - Jack: 9th, 10th, 13th
Leader of an organisation - Brigider: UNIT - Jack: Torchwood Three
not quite, Jack will never have the chops the brig had, close though
I love captain jack!! I want more of him.
i can't believe my favourite character is back i never thought i'd see him again
Now jack can ask the doctor “are you my mummy?”
“Who looks at a screwdriver and thinks ‘that could use more sonic,’?”
I just watched every episode of torchwood on Saturday so when he came back on Sunday I was like ohhha when I hear his voice.
Captain Jack was EASILY my favorite companion of the post Tom Baker era. You give me an episode with the Doctor, K-9, and Captain Jack and I could die a very happy nerd...
As far as the steady companions go in the post Baker era, I LOVED Martha and Clara the most.
so glad you took scenes from Torchwood as well :)
The pulse rhythm of the Torchwood signal boost is four...like the beating of two hearts. 😳
We need another Torchwood Series - Time is right
More of captain Jack,he's brings lot to Dr who as he's talented actor.
Honestly my favourite character in DW
I loved the scene where Rose and Jack were dancing on Jack’s spaceship. 😊
FUN FACT:
Russell T Davies chose Rose’s and Jack’s name from Titanic, after Rose DeWitt Bukater and Jack Dawson, because he loved the movie Titanic.
boys, girls, and non bi pals. lady's, gentlemen, and everything in between. we present to you, Captain Jack Harkness!!
and he presents back 😉
His first appearance was in series 1 episode 2, and his latest was in series 12 episode 5. Perks of being immortal, I guess.
I would still love the writers to do a "wrap up" of Clara Oswald's story.
She ended up travelling in the Tardis with Me, (while her heartbeat was still stopped).
The Doctor (Capaldi), saw her name at the University, on the huge Alumni "Teacher's list Plaque" in the main corridor, while he was teaching there.
So she HAD to go on, after she met the Doctor in the CAFE, (where he writes her this sad melody on his guitar, to try to remember her, and what she looked like).
Clara told Me, she was taking the "long way around " before she returned back to Gallifrey to die...again.
Just how "long" that was, was never stated.
So, going with this New set of rules governing Jodie's Doctor.
With Gallifrey destroyed, and past companions popping up everywhere.
If Clara was still "taking the long road" back to Gallifrey , and now it's destroyed, will she continue traveling forever in the Tardis (with or without Me?).
And has her heart started to beat again? (For a number of reasons).
So many possibilities to explore!
Clara was my favorite,l Doctor's Companion. Personally I liked her with Matt Smith the best, but as Capaldi's companion she also was amazing.
I would love to see an episode with Clara, meeting Jodie's Doctor, and wrapping her storyline up.
It would be Amazing to see her continuing in the Tardis (that was Me's, and stolen like the Doctor's was), and every so often, meeting up with the Doctor.
(I must add, that Tom Baker, and Matt Smith's Doctors are my very favorites, I could always see Tom Baker's, Doctor, shining through in Matt Smith's, Doctor. Perhaps Matt did that on purpose, or maybe they are just that much alike in
personalities.
But they are BOTH, my favorite Doctor!
(And Clara Oswald, my favorite companion !!).
😁👍🥰
I'd love to see the next "real" Doctor (male), go back to the library and find a way to save all of the people who were put into the database. Bring back River. Romana 2 was my all-time favorite companion, with Tom Baker as my first and favorite Doctor. Loved Matt Smith's Doctor. Capaldi grew into his role well. Clara was fun.
clara would literally just end up being like owen. dead woman walking. the woman who's always dying.
Yes. Just what I needed.
This could have easily been at least an hour long. Or as long as the total time of all scenes Captain Jack Harkness has had on Doctor Who.
Omg that first clips still gets me.
About damn time, Captain Jack came back to Doctor Who! I continue hoping for new Torchwood.
God damn, that first season episode scared me to death when I was younger, such perfectly done story with a bit of good horror mixed in
Jack probably should have reacted when Martha mentioned the Face of Boe
God I LOVE jack’s interactions with nine.
The man,the myth, the legend
I’m sorry but 9, Rose, and Jack are the best group of people this show has ever had and you can’t change my mind
"I can't stop it. Ugh I'm too close. Oh god. I'm gonna regenerate so hard baby"
