    I would try to lower the water level to about half for a couple weeks feeding every other day and then raise the water level back up (and you can use your colder water if you want) and KEEP food in the tank and especially smaller foods like cyclops that they know the babies would be able to feed on as well, and lastly largely increase the flow for many species. (some don't care for the flow [Paleatus] but many like higher flows to lay in)

    Looks like you are doing everything that's recommended to get the gold lasers to spawn.
    One thing I would do is give them some more structure cover like small drift wood or half cave they can group up around.. that is what has worked for me is using lots of cover and lots of patience..

      How long did it take to get them to start breeding? How do you collect the eggs? Ive been seriously considering breeding CPD's as well and would love to get an idea of as many successful setups as possible!

    • @SlickNick3
      @SlickNick3 3 роки тому +1

      I had them for a couple months in a 5 gallon I just fed them well and noticed spawning activity so I set up a 2.5 gallon with a thick layer of Christmas moss and a couple trimmings of ludwigia I just left floating on the surface to help with water quality. I put the 4 adults in the 2.5 gallon and fed live and frozen bbs for a week straight then caught the adults put them back in the 5 gallon and within a week I had 30 cpd fry pop up in the 2.5 gallon. I feed hikari first bites but now they are large enough for bbs moving them to a 29 gallon when they are a bit bigger! It helped that I saw them spawning in their other set up already

    Hey mate. I've started watching your videos recently and they're great! Keep it up and thanks for sharing. How long does it take your cory's to grow from hatching to market size? I really struggle to get mine to grow well early. And what sort of success percentage do you think you get? (i.e. how many fry do you get through the first 2 weeks or so per 100 eggs). I struggled getting my lasers to breed for a while, then put them into a tank with my venezuelas which breed non-stop. The action in the tank with all of them together got the lasers going in no time👍

    Another great video! Fish room is looking wonderful :) Hate to ask, by chance do you or anyone ever have a betta that had a nipped fin as a young fish that didn’t grow back right? My black mustard betta has one really long ventral fin and one average looking one. Perfect water parameters, planted tank, no other fish tank mates besides two nerite snails and some ghost shrimp, and on a balanced diet fed in moderation. Just seems weird. Hard to explain without seeing the photos. All of his other fins are beautiful and look great.

    May try some sand or gravel on the bottom maybe the reason that they don't wane breed is that they are to stressed. You can also try to make a different biotoop different plans and wood. This is just an idea don't know if it works. and last thing you can try is to separaat the male and females for a week then put them together again

    May I suggest adding a water currant directing hitting one side of the tank. Mine is caused by my back hang on filter. For me this is the most common place where they lay eggs. During every rain fall or water changes weekly they lay eggs for me. The issue I am having is i have a low success rate on egg hatching. I'm lucky if 10 to 15 % of 100 eggs survive. I get fungus on them. I hope my idea helped when it comes to laying them more often. If one could help me on some of the fungus part i would appreciate it. Thank you.

    Have you tried adding water from a tank that's actively breeding to the gold lasier Cory's? I've seen some master breeders keep their albino Cory's actively breeding and they drip their tank water into the harder to breed cory tanks so that the hormones are there to help trigger breeding.
