FFXI: Do DRKs need Apocalypse? DRK/SAM solo (no Trusts) Locus Wivre.

Whether you're a Scythe DRK or a Great Sword DRK, there comes a time when you not only need to deal damage but also stay alive.
I try to solo most of what I do, making the Apoc a must. I have nothing against GS DRKs, I do have Ragnarok and Caladbolg both yet to be fully Augmented. I do prefer a scythe tho.

Haven't played this much since 75 cap. What's involved in getting to this phase?

Well.. first u need to do 80,85,90,95 cap, aquire 2100 job points to reach Master, gear up with 'item level 119' gear (augmented) and a decent weapon, preferrably relic scythe or empy GS if you're DRK. Then you need ro start the master levels which is a rediculous grind. 50 extra job levels with your subjob increasing by 1 every 5 levels.
