Also it really helps to apply through a recruitment agency! They handle the paperwork and finding the right companies for you and you just do the interviews.
I managed to get a job that way and am moving to Japan soon! Jlpt can be a work in progress while I'm there.

Is it exclusively a writing/reading test with no speaking and/or listening portion, or is there a speaking portion as well?

As someone who just recently started studying Japanese, this was really helpful. It's going to be a long ass time until I even take the N5, but I think I have a better idea on how to study smarter thanks to your descriptions on each of the topics.

Your voice sounds like the voice over for Ken Honda UA-cam videos.

When I interviewed for a job as a software developer for the company I work for here at home (but it's an international company) and they said they would be fine with me to have N3 level. But unfortunately I have only started learning Japanese late 2020 (and I am a slow learner - recently completed the first level of Japanese learning through a local college-university). So I don't see myself passing N3 anytime soon (heck I don't think I will even try taking the N5 until next year).

My students can pass the english test (eiken) with 3-4 months of studies in my school so I think you can too!!

Check out Japanese Ammo with Misa on UA-cam, I hope Sherry doesn't mind me recommending another channel in her comments section.

I given JLPT N5 it is very different. Kanji 😢 is very difficult. and audio section of exam are wrost part. It must be online exam because they just play tape in hall of 60 people sometimes it is not properly audio able. I had very bad experience of this exam. I want to come Japan but I unable to clear JLPT N5 exam. 😢 my dream are dream now 🥺

Hi, from a self study perspective: Are there online classes especially for JLPT N3 and above level ?
In Germany most of the classes teach you the european language system from A1 to C2, which is kind of difficult to compare with JLPT level.
