So happy VoicePlay decided to pick up Anthony Gargiula as a feature on this phenomenal song. This vocal-only version of Golden Hour by JVKE was definitely something and the story! CUTE!

I knew you would love this AND the story. This was not their first concept for the use of their "heads". After receiving feedback on Patreon they went back to the drawing board. (See what I did there?😉)
Anthony has such a unique voice and blends so well with VoicePlay. The difference between his first "golden hour" at 6:20 and his last at 24:51 is a great example of pure head voice and head dominant mix voice. There is so much resistance there! It's just beautiful, and that vibrato!
We love a happy ending. Kathy got her "perfect man"... and what happens to the rest of the heads? 😂

Every new Voiceplay cover is my favorite until the next one comes out. That is, until now. This one is going to be my very favorite, probably forever, just because of that last sweet, romantic ending. You haven't reacted to their Little Mermaid Medley, but that little wave at the end from Kathy? Rachel Potter did that in the medley. The next time you do a Voiceplay week, I hope you will include that one. It is hysterically funny!

I so do love your reactions. Not only so I learn so much about music, but I cannot help smiling at you giddiness and authentic emotional responses. I really like your analogy about them wrapping us in a hug, because that is a feeling that I get a lot with VoicePlay (and laughs of cause), and I also love your reaction to both the toy-like sounds from Laine and the ending of the story - that ending is just too cute ❤
the name of the Shop they are in is "Stimmen Spiel" (as seen in the first second) thats German for Voice Play :-)

Really enjoyed the quieter theatrics of this number. Some of VoicePlay's performances are a bit over the top for me. It's a fascinating arrangement and shows off their individual voices as well as technical mastery. I especially like Geoff's mid-range voice -- in my opinion it's his most natural sounding and very beautiful. As usual, your analysis broadened the pleasure of hearing this for the first time. (And I thoroughly enjoyed your own version, as well!)

When you go back to rewatch, look in the windowsill. There’s a Pinocchio!
The extra section, the bridge, was written by Geoff to extend the song, and it's beautiful, and you just know it's about Kathy. This is sung by Cesar, Eli and Anthony towards the end. I call Anthony's voice sublime. So beautiful. This is golden indeed and heart warming.
I actually watched YOUR cover 20 minutes after watching Voiceplay's cover the day that yours dropped... All I could think of was seeing your reaction.
I will say that, it isn't fair that they have 5 voices and a Kathy while you only had 2 voices and a guitar... That said, I enjoyed your cover as much as I did theirs.
Someone needs to start a campaign to get Voiceplay to collaborate with you... Then we could watch you react to yourself AND Voiceplay!

You had to figure that Kathy would be going for Geoff. It would have been rather awkward if she had gone for one of the other heads.

What I really like for VP's version is how they changed the time signature from 3/4 to 6/8. I think it gave the whole thing a more dance-like feel.

Awesome analysis again. Love how Voiceplay can produce a song that is so smooth and seamless on a first listen. Then you do a deeper dive and realize all the tiny, insanely intricate pieces go in to making it sound so easy.
Jennifer! Sort of on time today. Voiceplay! Well this will be fun. Very likely you'll get some low note practice and some crazy sound effects to try to imitate. 😁 And sure enough on those sound effects at 10:02 😅 Several places you tried the low notes but my favorite was 11:34 "burning through". Or maybe at 14:50 ... what the f ... reak? Like maybe we caught our self? Or 18:28. Gotta hand it to you, no matter how low you always try! Then that "jammy" sequence ending in that chord! Wow! This version is so precise really goes modern for the backing track and vocals that really captures how it take time to get on point and the timing and changing time signature or tempo and the dictation that without error and the performance. I wonder what software they used to produce any of their songs, for me, how they do it and make it just right.
