We love your reaction video from Voiceplay and Home Free.
Sassy Cesar giving those looks to the camera is my favorite thing ever 😂 I just love how vp make the ebb and flow of the song, they are great at building up the tension 💜
So good😁😁
Me too - such a part of his personality.
I’m such a Cesar fan! I just love all these guys so much-every one of them is so insanely good.
Been a Cesar sass fan since he first whipped out that fan

"Sometimes I cringe myself out," is peak relatable content. I love being a dad because it's the perfect cover for those moments!
Hahah!
Layne is the Master of percussive fills and other sound effects
There's a podcast called "MASH Minute." The hosts spend about an hour talking about each single minute of the 1960's film "M*A*S*H." Jenn, I feel like you could easily do that with almost any VoicePlay video.
And frankly, I'm here for it. :)
Great reaction and analysis as usual. It seemed like there was a time when you could not turn on the radio and not hear this song.
One of the things that VoicePlay does so well is to try to really reflect the lyrics of the song. I think the next time I hear the Phil Collins version I will hear it in a whole new way.
They did a great job with the 80s Miami Vice vibe complete with the glitchy VHS feel to it. (It was filmed behind PattyCake Productions with Layne’s dad’s car). Layne outdid himself and I loved that stomp sequence. It sets up the whole second half of the song.
Happy birthday, Jen!!! Cesar's sassy disdain just THRILLS me. And Eli... holy shamoley, that F5! You just know Layne has been "waiting for this moment all of his life" to play that iconic drum solo. Any chance to hear J.None is a blessing. And Geoff!!! That man already destroyed one set of my headphones with his 808 drops, and I swear he was trying to break my new ones.
Magic is maybe the perfect word to describe them. Individually they are brilliant, together - on a whole other plain!
Oh yes!😁
I would never call them plain!
Happy Birthday Week! You deserve more than one day! 🎉🎂💗
Oh Jen, i have been watching you on and off for years and this is the first time i have heard you break out an italian nonna sentence... it sent me to the floor.🤣😂
It hurt me too, dear god. Buon compleanno from Australia.🥰
😂😂 when things get too much, my Italian has to make an appearance hahah! Grazie!!🥰
VoicePlay can do no wrong lately! They are incredible
Were they doing wrong in the past?
@@vicmartone never
Have loved this song for years. Just hit the full realization that it is about someone watching another's bad Karma finally loop back on them and glad for it.
Welcome to the wild rollercoaster of a ride that is Jenn and her reactions. 😂 I would love to watch suspenseful movies with her, just to watch her face and range of emotions. ❤ I hope you had a wonderful birthday!
😂
Great analysis Jen! Love your reactions. I think Layne hand his "moment of a lifetime" with that iconic drum run at the climatic point of the song. I love how Voice Play interprets a song and bring it out as their own (just like Home Free does). These guys are all so talented. Each one of them excels here. As you pointed out, so much was happening all at once many times in the performance... it was like sound orgasm. So good!
Nothing witty to say about VoicePlay slaying another classic because 💗. Just wanted to say super cute top, Jen!
Happy Birthday Jen!
I was waiting for your reaction to this! There is so much going on in this song that i needed to hear you break it down.
Laynes beat boxing in this was insane! I feel like i was waiting my whole life to hear geoffs baritone into that iconic drum solo by layne!
Thankyou for a great reaction
It's the ad libs and BVs for me in this one. Took me outttttttt and now I'm thoroughly obsessed. I don't think they could have done a more perfect job on this. It's outstanding. Love your reactions to all of it!
Happy birthday! That part of Geoff's you stopped to comment on ("Well the hurt doesn't show/but the pain still grows") had an almost _quintessentially_ 80s flavor to me, as many parts of this arrangement do (like J's little lilt on "this moment" around 3:17, Cesar's "I can feel it" at 4:11, and his overlapping line with Eli at 4:22-4:25.) I have to think they must've listened to a bunch of rock and pop from that era before they started recording to get such an authentic sound.
I just want to thank you for doing these reactions for us to watch. I get something different from each reactor I watch- from you it’s mostly pure joy. Plus, of course, the music knowledge you offer. Your sheer delight and humor is total pleasure to see, and I also love how both you and The Charismatic Voice can’t help but giggle when Geoff hits one of his specials. I always wind up giggling right along with you both.
Also, I’ve been mentally reviewing the stuff VoicePlay has put out so far this year and it is staggering when you add it up. And every last one is outstanding in every aspect. They deserve a much larger audience.
Cesar had been working on his range for a while now. He already had the top but he's extending down. He can sing pretty solid in the 2nd octave now. I love this one! They captured the spirit of it so perfectly and made it so fresh. Ah! Lol. This was such a fun reaction/analysis! ❤
This takes us back to the 80s and this song (the originial) was playing on a car radio in an episode of Miami Vice. I think that has a bearing on the apperance of this. The car belongs to Layne's father. I heard that Geoff's reaction to getting his part from Layne - once again - was along the lines of "you want what?" I think it probably happens regularly. Happy Birthday when it comes.
Happy Birthday! I hope you have fun! Celebrate safely!
I learned subharmonics by adapting rock-screaming with some distortion. I had already learned the safe way to scream when I was listening AC/DC, Linkin Park, Audioslave etc.
Then I just used the same musclememory while diving lower and lower in my registry
I'm a major Phil fan and I've got to say I like this version better. Lyle (Patrol Gaming) said the problem with VoicePlay is that you run out of adjectives to describe their talent after a while and he's not wrong. They've tackled some HUGE iconic songs here lately and have absolutely killed every one of them. I love the risks they're taking and it's amazing to see them pushing the limits of their ranges.
Yep, I’ve joked in other comments about them being on a “level up” streak. I’m still a little afraid of what it will be like when they hit “final boss form”.
You reminded me that I haven't watched Lyle's reaction! Thanks, heading to his channel now that I've seen Jen's. 😊
When I first saw that they did this, my percussion-obsessed brain shook its head. Nope. Not possible. Well, I guess it is. Fabulous work from Layne. What a great cover of this iconic song. Now I'll be seeing the Miami Vice opening montage in my brain for the rest of the day. Always great to see you having so much fun with a reaction. And Happy Birthday!
As always, terrific reaction/analysis! I always look forward to finding out what you have to say!
We are hearing more and more of Cesar’s different vocal styles and techniques and I’m loving it. He actually sounds like a different singer sometimes. So impressive!
I love that we’re seeing so much of J.None-I’ve missed him so much!
Eli’s high solo-holy, holy crap! And as always, his and Cesar’s acting-top notch.
And I love that one of Geoff’s solos was in his baritone range- I am always there for it when he shows us how beautifully he sings throughout his range. And his drops-insane, but I like that in this, they kept them kind of subtle, part of the backup music. It feels more like an ensemble here.
And Layne!!!! We get to hear him sing (ALWAYS there for it), and his perc is totally up to this song with its iconic drum part. He’s earning a reputation as one of the best beatboxers out there.
Too bad the Muppets weren't still around. I'd love to see a drum-off between Layne and Animal 🎶🎵🎵
Thank you for your detailed analysis. You Point out so many little things, which makes it sound so good. Good luck for your album. Greetings from Germany
I can’t wait for them to blow her mind!!!! 🎉
I think this is my favorite VoicePlay song. And Happy Birthday!!
The fervor from each of them just sells this song even more! I think this is a masterpiece!! Every second is filled with magical goodies!! And then to have your commentary-I'm in heaven....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEN!!!!! I hope your entire week is amazing!
So much talent to talk about. Voice play never disappoints; and neither do you, Jen. Great break down of the song.
Also, I loved "I'm not a fan." Your performance as a woman trying to figure things out was the perfect blend of music and acting, Bravi!.
Happy Birthday, Jen. May God grant you many blessed years!
always funny watching your reactions to voiceplay :) Good job we dont have to take a shot every time Jen says "love it" though! 😂
Thank you Jen for this astonish reaction to this song. It is nice to hear another version of this Phil Collins epic song.
Thank you!
Easily my favorite reaction from you, by a country mile. Not only because you were so animated an into the song, but because you go so in-depth with the analysis. I've watched this reaction a few times now, and I pick up something new each time.
Thank you!
Loved this. I cannot but agree with your assessment of how amazing they are.
Also, portmanteauing your word, I feel like subhonk is a very descriptive word of my attempts at subharmonics! 😂
Haha oh same 😂😂 thank you!
Hi Jennifer hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤
Jennifer! Wow this one really brought a LOT to the table. Just SO many details, it's no wonder you got quite excited several times during the video. As you say, you listen to it again and hear more new things because there's just so much! I think you were a bit ... wrecked by this one though. You resorted to Italian! 😅 Oh and you're right, we're celebrating your birthday all week because you deserve it! Great reaction and analysis as always Jennifer. 😊
Hahah I did 😂 and yay! Thank you😁
Classic song but their own spin. 🥹
Well Happy Birthday, love your reaction/analysis as usual. It makes me so happy to watch you get to also be so happy and excited about these songs. I always end up hearing a little something more than I noticed before too, and it's nice to be reminded how amazing these guys are (I already know it, but find myself "used" to Geoff and Eli doing what they do, it's fun to be reminded how incredible they actually are.) Wonderful as always!! (Also love the new song!)
Thank you!
Hey!!!! Jen!!!! --- Happy Birthday :) You make these so fun (and entertaining). Love the excitement. Damn, they done a number with this one --- and it's so good. :) Be Safe
LOL I thought this song was gonna end up being the death of you,,, Your reactions to the pure excellence of this song were golden!
I love Cesar's expressions and connection to songs too 😊
Love your reactions! I always look forward to your new releases.
I love how much u get excited when u talk about them ,and their skills 😁
I was waiting for you to do this one!! I love your reactions!!❤️❤️
Hey Jen, I loved this one, voice play showing out lately! This one is not the original, but they did enough different to make it a great cover! I heard your sub the other day, actually a couple of times. Love it when voice play makes you just run out of words! They pack so much in! Great job! Low bass Kenneth
Happy Birthday to come. I watch you a lot and enjoy your expressive face and insight into the techniques and qualities of the performers. I'm from the USA so I'm uncertain if you are aware of "Stepping" a form of vocal and physical performance here. But the stomping section reminded me a lot of a stepping sequence. Just my two cents.
Brett's Wife (Jennifer in MI)
Man , is t even possible that they are getting better and better? Usual great upload Jen. What's the chance of a reaction to Phil Collins original of this song? The live in Germany version of course 🙂
Am wishing you a very Happy Birthday, Jen. I loved your song I'm not a fan, and the collaboration you did on toxic was awesome. You just keep getting better and better.
Thank you!
Watching your reaction to this was almost as good as the song itself!😄
Happy Birthday to you.
Happy Birthday to you.
Happy 18th Birthday Jen.
Fantastic reaction, Jen. I love watching your brain get overloaded. 😀 This could easily have lasted another 20 minutes, so much brilliance packed into this.
Happy birthday beautiful lady.
This was so good! The video and your reaction. Way too much fun for 10 am on a Wednesday morning. I think someone mentioned having a drink..great idea. Just too early here! Thank you for taking us on that journey with you, Jennifer. I will definitely watch this one again. 😆❤
Hahah thank you! ❤️
Voice Play did a fabulous job as usual!! You did a wonderful reaction/analysis as always!! This song gets stuck in my head...🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶😐 .
Thank you!!
It's Friday. Happy Birthday, Jennifer!
Thank you!
Happy Birthday Jen 🎂🎁🍻
First off: Happy Birthday!! I simply adore your facial reactions to the music. Delightful! You're right, the video's style suggests an old VHS tape, with sound and video drop-off, distortion, and pixilation plus the difference aspect ratio. The set consisted of the loading dock of one of the stores next to PattyCake Production's studio plus a 1972 Pontiac LeMans belonging to Layne's father. Fun Fact: Many people believe "Oh Lord" is "Hold On" instead. In homage to this Mandela Effect, there is ONE "Hold On" in the cover, See if you can find that Easter Egg.
Ooh thank you😁
Jeff is vicious on this song . One of VP's best .
I hope you have a great birthday Jennifer! 💕💕
Happy birthday 🎂 ❤ This video is just incredible! Thanks for your reaction. Good luck on your album😊
Thank you!!
Have a Happy Birthday Jen!
I loved watching Voiceplay break you a number of times in this video. It is an amazing cover!! They all did a great job, both individually, and collectively, as you commented at the end. X
Thank you!!
Awesome reaction as always Jen.
Jen you made a perfect italian esclamation ahahah i still laughing ahahahahah your reaction are always full of emotions. Thank you... Greetings from Italy 😃

I believe this might be my favorite of your Voiceplay reactions. ❤
I love the italian and half of a "bestemmia" thrown in🤣🤣 I aproove :3
That was incredibly fun. Happy Birthday. 🎉
Jen i love your energy, humour and self awareness....happy birthday for tomorrow ( my time) have a great day and fantastic year!!
Happiest of Birthdays, Jen!
Great reaction!!!! I love all your Voiceplay and Geoff videos ❤
Happy birthday, Jen
Peter barber will be having a fun one with this and geoff
Enlightening as always!
So glad you’re going to analyze this one. I have comments already, but I will save them for tomorrow.
This first appeared on Miami Vice, and the set pays homage to that. Even J’s sport jacket + T-shirt fits that context.
Great reaction! Home Free "Skull and Bones Live" next please.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎂🎊, Jen!!
It's a tiny thing but thank you for using Cesar's "they" pronoun of he/they. Often people just stick with the "he" and I really appreciate that you use "they". So thank you, Jen. Oh and thank you for the awesome reactions, too!! I'm always happy when I see a new vid from you!
As much as I like this group, this is a very personal song and should be sung by one person. It's a plaintive hurt being expressed by one person.
J.None handed Eli a D5, Eli took it and ran, but did you catch Cesar follow it as well?
VP has made this their own. Sorry, Phil.
Phil Collins' original was on the soundtrack of Miami Vice with the detectives Crockett and Tubbs driving the "bad" streets of Miami.
When I found out Phil sang as well as played the drums, I became a fan of not onl Phil but also his former group Genesis.
Is anyone else reminded of watching satellite television (remember the huge dishes on the lawn) when there was storm interfering with reception?
That’s exactly what they were going for.
Happy Birthday! Great reaction/ analysis as always!
i was curious to see how someone could make a 32 minute reaction video from a 3 minute music video...wow, now i know......
5:22 minutes.
YAY Italian
Also, have a most excellent birthday week! 🙂🙂🙂🙂
Awesome job beautiful thank you
Thanks Jen ... and a very early Happy Birthday! 🎉
Very nice song they sound great
I love that you're using they/them pronouns when referring to Cesar 💜
Musical Magic, indeed.
SO Good!!
❤❤❤ Wonderful
Awesome song
Home Free’s Skull and Bones is fun!
Definitely we want Jennifer Glazhofer to react to that song because it is the first time we heard Adam Chance to take full lead. Probably Jennifer Glazhofer’s mouth drop for to hear Adam Chance mixed of lower and higher register.
Chance wrote Skull and Bones by request from Ubisoft.
