Another good Myst-like game I've played is Call of the Sea. Much like Myst, it's an exploration based puzzle game. Its puzzles draw direct similarities to those of Myst, so if you thoroughly enjoyed Myst's puzzles, I think you'll enjoy this. Its story draws inspiration from those written by H. P. Lovecraft, with strange architecture and maddening archaeological finds, not to mention the familiar alien language that's spoken in various moments. All in all, it's a very good game that I'd highly recommend for fans of the Myst series.
I just played it. It's a great game and needs to be popularized more. It's one of a small handful of games of this type that I was able to get completely through without looking for hints online.
An accurate list would have many copycats of Myst, which there is no shortage of (there's even a couple here) But Myst at the time, there was nothing like it, and the puzzle aspect was completely unique. I believe the Talos principle and The Forgotten city really innovate in the same way Myst did back in the day. The rest of the list does not match, but I don't think many games hit that story/ambience/exploration/puzzle combo like Myst, The Talos Principle or The forgotten city do.
Outerwilds is recommended by the devs themselves to play with a controller but there is more "action" compared to myst games as you can move around much easier and very quickly compared to standard puzzle games But from my experience of playing myst and obduction, you can probably have no problem playing any of these with a controller, theyre not very fast paced so theres no real advantage to playing with a mouse and keyboard
