Who wouldn't want to participate in building a utopian World Socialist Republic after listening to this rousing and inspiring music? Time Forward, Comrades!
The BBC Symphony Orchestra is going to broadcast this in a few days time in BBC3. I went to the live recording and I was absolutely transfixed by the music, astounding that we don't know more about this composer outside Russia, maybe now we will, marvelous imaginative music.
Sveridov was Shostakovitch student, one of his favorite. Another one was Khachaturian. Sveridov first tried to imitate the style of his mentor while Khachaturyan - tried to imitate Russian melodies. Shostackovich gave advice to each of the two: To Sveridov - do not imitate me, explore Russian tradition. To Khachaturian - do not use Russian melodies, listen better to your native Armenian, Georgian, Azeri melodies.
in fact, ouverture (ural melody) is missing here, replaced by "time, forward" or "it's time, let's move on"... anyway beautiful music, thx for sharing!
Peter Melillo it fits the Soviet Union's nature it means well to the world. it offers a new world. But it's personality is cold, mechanical and uses malevolent methods to achieve it's goals.
I could see this music remixed to accompany American history from the Civil War to at least the Civil Rights struggle and the moon landing. It could as easily praise capitalism as communism, as both are mechanistic in their economic practice. Communist efforts to modernize were attempts to imitate capitalism, if without the luxurious spending of plutocrats. Instead of documentary footage we would need cinema. The greatest glory of the USA remains defeat of the demonic Axis Powers. Malevolent? Night on Bald Mountain well fits the Ku Klux Klan... primitive, barbarous, violent, nocturnal, and superstitious.
@@fractalcucumber4927 дело совсем не в этом. В той стране неважно было, какой ты национальности. Хачатурян не был русским, но учился вместе со Свиридовым и писал не менее прекрасную музыку.

Wow I love the whole thing but the ending variation on the ouverture is just stunning! That timekeeping beat!
High energy upfront!
I discover this composer very interesting! This work is very dynamic and shostakovian from a certain angle, it seems to me ....

I like how the music is patriotic but also malevolent and mechanical.

You must give the title in Russian in the description, so, more Russians can watch your video.
It's intended for the foreigners. There are plenty of videos with this theme and Russian titles.
We are here)))
Don't worry, we all know English :)

Как это вообще можно было написать?
The overture sounds like music Ennio Morricone might have composed---- if he'd been Russian!
Where is URAL MELODY - the first piece of this suite? Compare to this: ua-cam.com/video/pU3vk9Dim3g/v-deo.html

Music of forced industrialization and forced labor.
Music of the Idea, of the Goal, of the Path!
Music of trying to end the system of forced industrialisation and forced labor.
