In fact, while the lead animators were redesigning Ambrosius, they decided to make him east asian, so they tried to pull references of gay asian men and turns out Ambrosius’ character design is heavily inspired by Eugene Lee Yang himself so he eventually got the role for Ambrosius in the end.
