The front line with russkies is huge so we are using them only in some very need situations. Grim 2 is very classified weapon that was a part of our non nuclear shield program. We produced only few of them and there is no much info about them but as we know so far, non of them was found destroyed so maybe they was striking on Crimea Airbase(that’s non confirmed info). The accuracy and reliability of the HIMARS and the M31 GLMRS rocket is phenomenal. It will strike the target within 1m 98% of the time. No other system even the newer generation ones can compare. Keep in mind that the HIMARs and MLRS has been around since the 1980s
@@fanech14 m270 is in service since 1983 and m142 himars since 2010. They have the same pods and precision but himars is on a more mobile platform. It is all on wiki
This is a very straightforward presentation of equipment and tactics. Just a shame the Ukrainians did not have Warthogs planes when the RUSSKIES were sitting like ducks on the road for 40 miles out of fuel. That would have shown putin that they mean business.
You have to first realize just how old the US HIMARS and MLRS weapons systems are (MLRS = 1983, HIMARS = late 1990s. That is 40 and 25 years old, respectively). You would expect any recent similar systems would use HIMARS/MLRS as a starting point and should be better than the prototype because of more modern design, construction and ancillary equipment now available. But no matter how modern or advanced any new system is, you still have to have enough platforms and especially enough ammunition before it can be considered effective. However, you can't argue with how effective HIMARS is - considering that only 16 have been deployed in Ukraine and they have been a large part in turning the tide of war against the Russians. Now also consider that the US has around 900 HIMARS and 1300 MLRS platforms currently in their inventory...
It depends on ammunition supply, and the expense of the rockets, each Himars round being about 200 thousand dollars, so a salvo of six rounds is about a million dollars. Certainly worth the money for high value targets, but the Ukrainian systems are very good as well, and with good target selection, can perform exceptionally well. The systems are complementary to each other, and shouldn’t be directly compared since they do different jobs.
Russia has the same type of MLRS , called the Tornado, and they don't only have 16 but over 175 in service. It can shoot anything from dumb cluster munitions, thermoberics to the high tech GLONASS satellite guided missles that can shoot anywhere between 40-140 kilometers with warheads weighing in at over 250 kg .
HIMARS is the way to go with super advanced shells. We developed some great pieces for these MLRS type of launchers at China Lake and Fort Irwin in the 1970s.
These comparisons are obsolete. It can be expected that HIMARS is better because it was developed and improved over many decades having the endless resources of the US military-industrial complex at its disposal. Instead one should rather laude and be impressed by the ingenuity of Ukraine that is able to develop, produce and deploy such a capable weapon system under these adverse and difficult conditions.
Vilkha's 30 meters is with inertial navigation only, but with GPS correction it's about 7 m CEP, close to HIMARS's 5 (which also works with GPS). The main problem is that Ukraine couldn't produce enough of domestic systems and buy Western weaponry before the invasion (because nobody wanted to 'provoke Russia') to learn some know-hows about mass-production of such high-precision weaponry, that's why in current curcumstances the HIMARS is prefferable (it is logistically and ergonomically better too).
#Mike Walsh is HIMARS really king lol..🤣 russian tornado-S is only equal of that of HIMARS but more missiles while the king of MLRS is actually in the hands of China the PCL-191 it has a range of 500km compare to your HIMARS that is only 300km and it's precision guided missile as well learn other weapons moron
If vilkha-m and Grim2 are better or more superior than that of the American made HIMARS, than we should be reading, listening, and/or watching them (instead of HIMARS) on tv/radios about their impact; and how the system (HIMARS) is changing the course of the war in Ukraine. But what’s truly important is Ukraine ability to liberate itself by all means necessary- and they will.
Virtually decommissioned systems are proving to be generations ahead of anything Novorossiya (or whatever they want to call themselves) or those S400 have to offer.
If the Ukrainian Vilkha-m and Grim2 are so much better than the U.S HIMARS , then why do the Ukrainian Army consider the U.S HIMARS as the game changer for turning the tide and the preferred weapon of choice.
The point of this vid is to show what they are working on they probably only have 2 or 3 of them nobody's arguing what's better the US systems aren't the best but they are the most produced pgm if this was United States attacking the US we would barely see any because we would have air superiority on week 1 and use f16s f35s and in none contested areas a10s this is poor man's system that do not have a airforce
They only have the basic rockets, they have not been given the really top grade long distance and guided rockets that are available as they do not want them to strike targets deep inside russia. I doubt that there is anything to compare with the Himars and the best rockets.

Precision-guided rockets are expensive. For this reason, Russia, whose military budget is overwhelmingly lower than that of the United States, develops and deploys only unguided rockets, but it is clear that their effectiveness is low.
They definitely have guided rockets they deploy. Most of their surface to surface munitions are unguided artillery. However they have multiple launch rocket systems deployed as well. Furthermore they are increasingly using s-300 in a surface to surface ballistic role and have launched significant numbers of cruise mussels at Ukrainian logistical line and high priority targets. Their tow missle is guided as well. So they have used much more of a variety of missles/rockets than Ukraine. They just don’t have the intelligence and data link capabilities to render them very useful

HIMARS by far is the best especially when combined with the brand new rockets from Germany JFS-M cruise missile fired from HIMARS platform. This new rocket can travel 499 km and hit within 1 meter. This means Ukraine can strike deep inside of Russia right now since Germany has delivered many of these rockets [allegedly] .
Let's not forget one thing - Russia's air defenses are strong and are able to ground such missiles. In fact, their crews learned to detect and distinguish even HIMARS. And hit rate is very high and some air defense systems can hit 80-100% of flying HIMARS missiles. So I can't imagine a scenario where you send a missile with 500km range deep inside Russia and expect it to hit the target.
@@antonh1709 S300 and S400 are too slow to hit HIMARS missiles. You should look into how fast the HIMARS missiles travel. This is why the Russian propaganda doesn't work on the Pentagon. More accurate battlefield information is known by the US Military. No HIMARS systems have been destroyed to date and 99% of the targets are destroyed. Unless Russia has some new technology, HIMARS will be the end of the Russian military. HIMARS were designed in the 1980s. Imagine what the US Military has that is over and above that.
@@antonh1709 HARM missiles are actively taking out all the S300 and S400 stations and can be launched from a Ukrainian MIG. It's also kind of hard to hit a HIMARS rocket when your radar and S400 have been taken out by a HARM missile.
@@MACtube7299999 HIMARS missiles aren't even supersonic. For any air defense crew, this missile (or any other MLRS missile for that reason) is a regular subsonic target. Yes, HIMARS missiles fly higher than others, but that also makes it easier to distinguish them. And - S300 and S400 are long range anti-aircraft defense systems, for HIMARS and other MLRS systems Russians have newer, smaller, shorter range defense systems. Targets protected by those aren't easy for HIMARS, HIMARS hit ratio can be as high as 100%. Russia's air defense consists not only of S300 and S400.
It's hard to compare HIMARS to Vilkha. HIMARS is super precise but has only 6 rockets that are extremely expensive. In turn Vilkha has bad accuracy but many rockets that are a way cheaper. Sometimes you need precise hit, sometimes cover big area. Unfortunately prices weren't discussed in that review.
Vilkha's accuracy isn't that bad. Sufficient to reliably hit buildings, at least, relegating them to primary role of ammo/fuel depot/command centre-busters.

These systems are good but less mobile and are easier to find due to being double the size of himars. The Russians have just started receiving lots of drones from Iran. Probably in and effort to find the systems that are causing so much disruption and destruction. Keep it small smart and more mobile.
Good video, very interesting, but it's not called "the Ukraine." It's just Ukraine. It's not a colony or anything like that. It's a formal, ratified at the UN, official country.
Is the guidance system more accurate than MLRS? No Does Ukraine have its own GPS system to support the rocket? No Are the rocket motor and warhead more advanced than MLRS? No Can Ukraine manufacture in volume? No Does Ukraine have the logistics and maintenance regime to support such a system over a period of time? specially equipped with ATACMS or PGMS.
Sometimes you only need ONE
CURRENT US. MODELS ARE EQUIPPED WITH NAVAL STRIKE MISSILES AMONG OTHER LONGER RANGE ATACMS!
…that we KNOW of. 😆

God bless Ukrainian people.

Commentators and author are underestimating few things:
1. technology factor (military GPS provides this HIMARS accuracy. Ukrainian complexes do not have access to it.)
2. economy factor
3. political factor
